The view from the property was fabulous. We were in room 336 and the view of the Bosphorus was gorgeous.

The hotel car hire prices are too high because only fancy cars available. I think it’s counterproductive. If they were reasonable, it was worth hiring for airport pick ups or day uses rather than the yellow taxis!

When we check out they asked us to pay service charge because we booked with booking.com !!!

I visit this hotel at least once a year for last 4 years Now it looks like it needs some cosmetic renovation I was given a room with not working sockets. Also in bathroom walls are chopped and with old stains. They’re not the cleaning department problem. They require repaint. Bath tub also had problems with faucets. They were leaking. Hotel is perfect. But it gets tired a bit and soon will need some renovation.

Our room was very good, had a nice “patial Bosphorus” view. The interiors are lovely, breakfast very good. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful.

The location right outside the hotel in not exaclty pleasant. I was thinking about booking a transfer from the airport, but the prices the hotel offered were far beyond any reasonable level.

The hotel is beautiful and very stylish . The location is amazing; just by the Bosphorus. The staff working at the reception/ SPA/ concierge / lounge and by the entrance was FIRST CLASS!! We loved our mornings and afternoons at the Lounge with excellent service!!! We enjoyed the pool ( very good size) very much. The sauna / spa area is amazing and hammam was fantastic! Cleaning of the room- excellent!!! We are also at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel- delicious with a super polite staff!

We didint like the main restaurant in the hotel- service slow and not professional; always something missing at dinner menus. We ate there only once- was average ; do not recommend! Chinese restaurant is fantastic!!! Swimming pool is lovely however the kids left by the parents with just their nanny were shouting for hours!!!!! It was horrible!!! The pool should have special hours for kids/ families only and certainly not in the evening were most adults want to have a good swim and relaxing jacuzzi.

Very clean and quiet room. Lovely shower and goodies in the bathroom. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The door man was lovely. Housekeeping lady was brilliant even left little towels by the bed side so our feet don’t touch the carpet when we step out of the bed. Great stay. Thank you

We had a terrible view. Our window overlooked at a circle of other rooms in the hotel with a dome roof below, in the middle of the circle. Not very nice. River view or even a street in the city would have been nice. The ferry port and people looking in through the terrace windows in the bar not very nice. We were approached by a beggar at the window but the waiter was quick to send him away.

The staff and location, room and in bedroom food service is 10/10

The bar says closes at 1am, I went 12.45am and they said they can’t serve me because they are cleaning up, I asked can you make a drink send to the room they refused, following day I came same time and I was served, so I don’t understand this

Great rooms and terrrific location.

Staff in restaurant had poor skills; not 5 star service. Also the photos make it look like there was a roof top bar but it is at street level. The bar was focused on men and offered no welcome for women.

Exceptional location, spacy room, very clean, staff go above and beyond to accomodate every request, exceptional service. I had a partial sea view room, and the view was good (I expect it would have been really wonderful in a sea view room)

Property not directly on waterfront (there is a street separating it from phosphorus, and there one has to go around the property to reach it). Also, there is no decent public transportation close by (no Metro, tramway is more than 10 minutes away, one needs to take taxis, which are not a very good experience in Istanbul)

We enjoyed a wonderful 5 days at the Shangri-La. The hotel is opulent, whilst remaining comfortable. The rooms are a great size, which is brilliant for families. Above and beyond everything else is the attitude of the staff! They were warm, welcoming and were always on hand to make our stay enjoyable. I would love to list all of the staff by name, but can't remember them all unfortunately. I would like to give a special thanks to Betul, Emre, Ertun & Yusuf. I hope you're all keeping well and hopefully we meet in the future.

The traffic was relatively heavy around this area, but that isn't really a hotel issue. There wasn't much else to improve.
