An old timber-framed building, with a lot of character, well-adapted to modern use. Staff are welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and well-furnished, with attractive views of the surroundings, and the bed large and comfortable. The plumbing is somewhat idiosyncratic: you can find the toilet flushing spontaneously, but maybe this is to be expected in a building of this age. The swimming pool is attractive and clean, and the garden, though the weather during my visit was too cold to sit out, would be pleasant in summer.

Unfortunately the sauna had not been regulated and had over-heated, making it unusable, and making the adjacent exercise room uncomfortably hot. The cold tap in the bathroom washbasin was not working so water temperature could not be adjusted. Breakfast was generally good, but there could be a few improvements eg coffee was sometimes too weak, fresh bread, rather than packaged sliced, and the pastries would have been better if warmed up. We found the evening meal disappointing, but maybe it just wasn't our day.

The room was warm and comfortable. We had a very good night's sleep. Our continental breakfast was great - I loved the fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and croissant. Very nicely laid out. It was a real bonus to have a swim before breakfast. The pool was a nice size and a lovely temperature (warmer than my local pool at home!) We were not able to arrive by 21.00 when check-in closed. John sent clear instructions regarding the key lockbox and how to get to our room. When we arrived at about 22.00 John was actually waiting by the front door to greet us before he went home. Very kind and welcoming.

stayed 2 nights for a family wedding. very nice spacious room. exceptional staff. kayleigh is an absolute treasure food was lovely. pool was great. very warm will definitely be recommending this venue for weddings and events

small elements missed by cleaner. kettle was in desperate need of descaling, but the staff were really quick to sort it, so it's not really a complaint I appreciate that the rooms are in keeping with the building. However, small modern touches would help massively. without ruining the aesthetics, more plug sockets/usb ports, more modern TV (hdmi to connect personal devices) and a fridge

Lovely pool and garden area to relax in. Cute bar to have drinks before dinner. We stayed in the old part and it really is ancient and wonky, must be 400 years old- curiously fascinating although the ultra low ceilings weren't my 6ft4 hubbies favourite!

The food in the restaurant wasn't quite the standard I expected, as well as having only one veggie option, which was billed as a stroganoff but had about one mushroom in, zero cream or mustard and instead was a pretty basic onion and tomato stew. A shame as the restaurant area is pretty and luxurious and a nice space to be in, and you knew you were staying in a stylish manor.

I want to share my impressions of this amazing hotel. The people who work here are wonderful, creating an atmosphere of care and comfort. The pool is magnificent, the grounds are well-kept, and the interior and exterior design are both beautiful, providing a sense of complete tranquility and harmony. The staff is incredibly attentive, and the breakfasts are simply delicious. The rooms are always clean and cozy, making this the perfect place for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of big cities. My 10-year-old son and I thoroughly enjoyed our luxurious stay, and we wish it could have lasted longer. We will definitely be back! I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the staff for the warmth and care they show to every guest. Wishing you success in your business, and may you continue to maintain this high level of service! I highly recommend this place to everyone! The hotel business is no easy task, but the love for people is felt in every detail here.

I wanted to stay longer!!!

Our room was beautiful and large and even had a little outside area we could sit in and relax. It was clean and bright. The location was perfect for visiting Arundel and Chichester. The town itself was also very pretty for a wander around. We used the pool a couple of times with our baby and it was very quiet. Breakfast was nice with plenty of cooked choices. Plus cereal options and fruits and fresh croissants.

The changing facilities for the pool were a little cramped and cold.

It was very quaint. Had a lot of character and charm about it. Loved all the original features of the property, which just added to the experience. Swimming pool is definitely a plus!! Loved this facility. And where we can, we always book where there is a pool available. It was a shame is was only for one night, because it would have been nice to have stayed longer and used the hotel to appreciate the environment a bit more. So it was a flying visit this time, but next time hopefully we’ll be able to relax in the hotel facilities.

My only negative thought was that the room had no fan. So the room was very warm despite having windows open. We stayed in a different hotel the night before and had a large fan in the room so was a big bonus in the warm temperatures.

Dinner was good.Able to book for first night on arrival.Pre booking advised, as second night fully booked. Breakfast was good valve. we are not really breakfast people. Room very warm and facilities very good, very good clean room / bathroom. Pool excellent, also very warm.

Being able to open window to vent room, smoke from staff outside below window, blowing back up to room. We are none smokers.

The location, staff, quality of food, facilities were great. We had treatments in the spa facility on site which were superb. The room was very well laid with plenty of room and had a nice outlook over the rear garden. The service, and the food, at breakfast and dinner was excellent and the hotel was very accommodating with our spa treatments.

The Sunday dinner was excelent but we would have preferred more options on Monday without alcohol. The bathroom door hinges could do with a little squirt of oil!

Convenience of location, lovely character, quaintness.

Room 204 - it needs a light switch by the door. We arrived when it was dark, couldn't find the light switch, it was at the side of the bed. This meant we had to work our way across an unfamiliar room, in the dark, to turn on a bedside lamp. The central light switch was on the wall to the right of the bed as you look at it. This is not safe for clients - need to have access to turning on a light on entry to the room.
