Very clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. Good size TV. We stayed in the cosy room which felt like a good size still. Bathroom very spacious.

Bed was up against the wall and you could hear everyone walking up and down the corridors. Shower also would change temperature mid shower from being quite cold to too hot without touching the dials.

Good facilities, especially the grounds and the sports available; nice indoor pool ( outside one closed) ; good location for our intentions; ( theatre and castle) they upgraded us because it was our wedding anniversary; food generally nice quality if some portions for evening meal were small especially the tortellini; good breakfast choices; great showers in bedroom; helpful staff at reception

In places a little dated; some public area lights didn't work; awful low hum for 3 seconds in dining room every 5 seconds or so, apparently air conditioning ( which made a noise even if not working); in ordinary rooms just one plug socket; a bit mean not replacing bottles of water

Room was so far away from everything. Had asked for ground floor due to mobility issues. Was really far away.

Amazing location, enjoyed sauna/steam room, breakfast was lovely, various choices from hot English breakfast, fruit and etc, also had drinks and dinner in the evening, reasonable prices, massive car park, general staff were lovely apart from one incident that I mentioned below

Bed a bit uncomfortable and building a bit confusing, general stay was lovely BUT when checked out lady at reception was very UNPROFESSIONAL, she started laughing when I simply said what room number we were what made me feel very uncomfortable, I understand she could of laugh about something else but it looked like she was laughing at me

Nice country house hotel in beautiful grounds. Staying with two of my children, I had booked a family room. Initial room we were put in was overlooking the kitchen deliveries area and the noise of the kitchen vents was intrusive (windows had to be open as no Aircon), but the staff on the desk were brilliant and happily moved us to another room. Rest of the stay was lovely with use of the pool and an excellent breakfast

We ate dinner in the restaurant. The food itself was lovely, but the only criticism is that the food was quite slow coming out. However the staff were lovely and attentive made it a good experience.

The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our rooms were clean, tidy and well supplied. The hotel had lovely Christmas decorations out in the reception area. My daughter and have to eat gluten free. The restaurant staff were very helpful and understood what GF is. The hotel had plenty of gluten free options for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was good. We really appreciated the leisure/spa facilities. The hotel grounds are lovely and I enjoyed a walk round them.

There were very limited gluten free options on the dinner menu.

My friend, her little dog and I all stayed in the pet friendly twin rooms. The room was lovely and clean and no sign of any past furry friends. The beds were a lovely size for a twin and the rooms were very quiet, just perfect for her with the dog and for me on the ground floor as I am disabled. We enjoyed a cocktail first and then dinner which was delicious with plenty of choice. Breakfast was the best layout with so much choice and lovely hot drinks. We finished off with afternoon tea which was scrumptious and very good value for money. After all the delicious food, the extensive grounds were a great way to walk some of it off. We will definitely be back to enjoy the very relaxed atmosphere and perfect service. We especially hope Sandra from the bar, lounge and restaurant, will be there as she was absolutely the best! Thank you for the perfect little break.

The staff make this property what it is - super friendly, helpful and prepared to go the extra mile. Restaurant staff (including chef!) came out to present a surprise dessert plate and sing ‘happy birthday’ to my mum at dinner … really lovely! Rooms were comfortable and the facilities are great with the added bonus of being able to take our dog with us! There are dog treats and a bowl of water in Reception area and plenty of land to walk around, with a bin for ‘bags’ in the car park area. The hotel is also well equipped for wheelchair access to the lounge, dining room and for going outside.Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice, and hot breakfast items were cooked well - so good to have bacon and sausages which aren’t pale and ‘limp’!!

Dinner menu is average (very much ‘pub’ style) and the same as lunch time which is disappointing. We would consider it too limited for a longer stay as it would mean choosing from the same options day in, day out.. That being said, they do have vegetarian options, good drinks and great staff!

An ideal location just 6 miles out of town. Nice & quiet. A very warm welcome from reception staff & Manageress. All the staff here are very approachable and polite, including the housekeeping staff. We had a delightful lady named, Helen. Well done for all your hard work 👏 Helen. I wasn't aware beforehand, but during our stay 27th-29th December, the hotel is dog friendly 🐾 🙂 So nice to see. All the dogs we saw/met, were very well behaved. Breakfast was delicious, with a HUGE selection 😋 of tastiness; from hot to cold meats, cheese, Vegan, Gluten free, fresh fruits & a wide choice of beverages available. The list goes on! The breakfast & dining area's were immaculately clean & very well presented. We had two rooms: 1 double & 1 twin. The beds were firm & rooms were clean & the best pillows I've experienced at a hotel in year's! The bathrooms were clean with plenty of hot water & decent toilet roll! The gym & swimming pool area's were very clean. The Steam & Sauna, both clean too. The pool water 💧 temperature was perfect 🥰 There's outdoor facilities available in the grounds also: Golf, Tennis 🎾 , table tennis. The car park was well lit at night, the grounds looked well kept. We also had 15% discount on food & drinks from our booking through Booking.com during our stay: (bonus). We will definitely be back & would recommend you visit.

The downside, unfortunately for some, there isn't a lift but you can book a ground floor room in advance if you have a disability. The staff are very helpful 🙂
