Stunning decor with friendly owners and fabulous outdoor facilities including hottub, sauna, firepit and BBQ.. The house has been soooo beautifully renovated and decorated, with lovely attention to detail. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed, the beds were lovely and comfortable and the dining table could easily cope with our large party.

For groups like ours with lots of children rather than couples, it would have been useful to be able to have twin beds as an option, but this is a very minor point given all the positives!

Location was great, near Bala. Nice courtyard though you do need to be conscious of who's in the big house.

Communication from the hosts was pretty bad (though they were very nice). Pre-stay was awful, they were slightly better at responding when we were there but afterwards we were meant to arrange a part refund for something and they just never did it. The cottages weren't particularly well equipped in the kitchens. The listing in booking.com is slightly misleading as well - the photos show both the cottages and the main house and so it's not overly clear what comes with what (hot-tub and sauna are only for the main house).
