Staff were very good and attentive. Room was a good size and clean. Breakfast was very good added with a choice on the breakfast menu freshly cooked, slightly rushed on one day (17th)as to what to order from the breakfast menu, but not on the Friday. Food in the restaurant in the evening was equally as good and well presented.

Drinks were fairly expensive, particularly the wine. However as I noticed a sign in the bar regarding wine that they were selling off,I enquired with a member of staff and so had a bottle of discounted wine on each night. Also the service charge for everything at 12.5%,even though the staff deserved it,we would have preferred the option of tipping the amount ourselves,it is discretionary but none the less awkward once on the bill.We did however paid the service charge amounts every time.

Staff were really nice and helpful. The room was extremely well appointed, modern and up to date and clean. The bathroom equally well appointed - loved the Noble Isle toiletries - mark of a good hotel as far as I'm concerned! Generous with the coffee machine and pods as well as biscuits. Too many hotels are getting rid of minibars so it was nice to see one there. Breakfast was excellent with a huge range of choices. All in all a lovely place to stay, beautiful historic house with gorgeous brickwork.

There are small stairs leading down from the bedroom to our bathroom (not in every room). This could be really problematic in the dark when you're disorientated - I nearly fell into the sink! They need some sort of low lighting. The en suite was lovely but couldn't get the shower working; we did inform them and they said they'd get straight onto it. Everything else was perfect, definitely would stay here again.

We picked Audley Wood as it was a dog friendly hotel. Our room was a nice size, really clean and had tea/coffee facilities. The little extra touches inc Dog bowls, treats and a cozy bed for our furry friend. All the staff were polite and friendly especially Sebastian who made our stay memorable. The hotel was in good upkept condition with beautiful grounds. Breakfast-there was a great continental selection and the cooked choice was delicious. We decided to eat in the hotel on both evenings and everything was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back soon.

We couldn't fault The Audley

The staff are smartly dressed and very professional without being stuffy. We were welcomed at reception and more or less told nothing is too much trouble. The room was very clean and spacious. I liked the fact the bathroom door was off a little corridor, not straight from the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, you can tell the mattress is an expensive one and being super king it was perfect for us (our choice). There were two comfortable chairs and a table in the room with a good size TV. Having a fridge with fresh milk and a glass bottle of cold water is a nice touch. Tastefully decorated throughout, bathroom was marble effect, and the toiletries were lovely. Great that you could open the windows, they had safety catches on them so you couldn't open fully, but that is expected. The set up for breakfast was beautiful, light music playing, a flower in a vase on the table, well set out. Loved the butter dish and little round butters, quality stuff. There was a lot of choice for both continental and cooked. Help yourself to the cereals, pastries, yoghurt, etc and the cooked breakfast ordered with waiting staff. Very friendly and welcoming staff and good service.

Would have preferred a walk in shower, as opposed to over the bath, but that was probably down to the room we chose and us not reading the description properly. The extractor fan didn't clear the steam very quickly. I wanted to leave a light on in the corridor to the bathroom for the night but the light was connected to the bedroom too.

The staff were the standout element of our stay at Audleys Wood, they were so friendly, engaging and accommodating. The hotel grounds are really peaceful, beautiful and well maintained. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed for our short stay. Breakfast was great and their fresh orange juice deserves a special mention.

The building is a little frayed at the edges, but that is to be expected at a property of this age and did not really detract from our stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Audleys Wood Hotel. The hotel is stunning, set in a calm and beautiful location with a charming, historic house that exudes warmth and elegance. The attention to detail really stood out—cozy blankets for outdoor seating, games to enjoy, and thoughtful touches like dog treats, water bowls, and even dog beds for our furry friends. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. It’s a perfect place for a peaceful getaway, and I can’t wait to return

We felt pampered, welcomed and the courtesy of the staff is exceptional. The king bed was beautifully comfy and the space in our room (Exec Dble) was great - plenty of room for our two bags .. and yet could still sit in the two comfortably sit with space around in the two chairs when making our plans. The restaurant incl the wine list offered great choices and our thanks to Sebastian and all his staff for their attentions. We used Basingstoke as a hub for both Oxford and Bath.

If I have to pick something, and because we like to have fresh air and because our room faced the road .. there was the constant, distant hum from A339.. but it was distant.

Beautiful old building set in a lovely forested landscape. We enjoyed the ambiance having a pre dinner drink in the old wood panelled bar. Food was particularly good with an excellent dinner surpassing our expectations. Very good English breakfast.

Weather wasn’t particularly cold but willingness to light a big fire ( I did ask) would have added atmosphere at a time ( post Easter) when the hotel was quiet and lacked sone resulting atmosphere. Minor point in an overall very nice one night stay.

We arrived to great customer service and a crisp clean room and bath. The receptionist went out of her way to meet our needs and bring us champagne glasses and ice bucket to help celebrate my husband's birthday. The dinner and breakfast were extremely delicious. We loved the beautiful grounds and exquisite wooden decor and seating areas in the common areas. Every part of this hotel was quality and class. We appreciated the easy to plug in outlets by the bed and a mirror for makeup....it was the little things and quality and style of this place and its staff that made our stay just wonderful.

Refrigerator did not work, but they quickly tried to address this.

The bed was very comfortable and had a great night's sleep. The view out to the garden was very relaxing, and beautifully lit at night. The cute squirrels playing in the garden and the birds were an added bonus. Dinner was fabulous and the green apple bavarois dessert was delicious! There was a wedding while I was there and I heard absolutely nothing so this was fantastic

Parking was a bit of a trek with suitcases from the overflow parking (there was a wedding), although you can bring your car around to the front (this was packed when I arrived due to the wedding)
