Oh my goodness, I cannot begin to compliment this place enough. To start off I want to say Debbie is the nicest loveliest friendliest host and I felt so welcome and safe. I didn’t have any worries that I was a solo traveller because she made me feel so comfortable. The room itself was so comfortable, the bed was so cozy to sleep in and warm and there was still a fan if you wanted it. There was options to have coffee in the morning and the bathroom was very nice. There was even complimentary chocolate and a bottle of water which was so helpful as I was there late and really peckish. The place is so beautiful, I feel inspired for my own home, especially the garden! I didn’t even realise that there was a garden, because I had booked it so quickly in the last minute and it’s just so beautifully looked after and you can tell that there’s a lot of care and love that has gone into the place. It’s in a beautiful location. I found it very peaceful and I can see myself definitely staying here again. It’s a great place to get away and I felt it just healed me being there. I actually even managed to get my bus and discovered Basingstoke Station wasn’t too far away which had a large shopping centre, but I didn’t visit it personally, but maybe I would come back next time to see what that was like, because the shopping centre looks quite modern and big. A surprise I loved the most on my walk to the bus stop, I discovered that there’s some sheep on the way, I was so excited! It’s just such a lovely stay, I can’t put it into enough words how much it meant to me to stay there, it’s just what I needed. The room is a very good size and you can really feel comfortable to walk around in it. There was also a television which I didn’t really use, but you can watch some TV if you wanted also. I even forgot my ring and Debbie has offered to send it back to me kindly.

I stayed here approximately 10 years ago when performing in the West Green opera orchestra, and enjoyed my stay. They have clearly had a big makeover since then, and the cabins are new/modernised. I arrived after 9pm and everything was ready. It was comfortable and well-equipped. I didn't see anyone during my stay. I would recommend this place to anybody.

A slightly brighter bedside lamp would make reading easier. Some people might be disturbed by the proximity of the express railway next door, but I didn't find it a problem.

From arriving everything was perfect and ready for our stay. Debbie greeted us and made us very welcome. The lodge was more spacious than imagined when booking. The location off the main road had easy parking and access. The hosts had left fresh milk and other essentials - as this was self catering this wasn't expected but a welcome bonus. We were attending the Farnborough Airshow on business and West View Lodge was much more comfortable than hotels we had used in previous years. Would highly recommend.

Not the fault of West View Lodge, but if you arrive late afternoon on a Sunday, most local pubs/food places seem to close early. However, we found a top notch place in the nearby village of Hook - The Hook Tandoori

Debbie kept us informed prior to arrival and was very pleasant when we met her. There was milk, washing up liquid and shower gel and shampoo left for us, which was very helpful with a self catering accommodation. On site parking and a self-contained lodge, made coming and going easy. We only really slept there as we had travelled to visit our daughter.

The lodge is right next to a train track, and the trains are quite frequent. You did get used to it eventually. The lodge is fairly basic, but at a reasonable price and clean and comfortable.

Very friendly welcome and good checking in instructions.Peaceful location up country lane, conveniently situated a few miles outside Basingstoke. Close to bus route( not sundays) and cheap taxis( alpha cabs) for night out; or easy drive in along main A30 road. I liked the large shared bathroom and extensive self catering kitchen facilities in main b & b. Single room was very clean as was bathroom. Debbie( host) saved the day when i lost by bank debit card, finding it outside and quickly letting me know and returning it to me after i' d left! Thanks Debbie( and Ian!). Would not hesitate staying again, and good value.

I've stayed here before for work and will consider in the future for work or leisure. Use of the spacious kitchen is very handy and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Room 3 is great for watching trains!!

Back entrance door is on a code but it is possible for other guests to drop the dead-lock by mistake! Luckily I wasn't back too late to disturb the landlady!!

The host was so lovely. I have experienced many lovely host's, however she went over and beyond for me to feel welcomed. The property was outstanding, clean, and comfortable. We need a reason to stay there again. The garden is out of this world, peaceful and well kept. The beds??? Wow so so comfy! Believe me when I say you will love staying here. West View Lodge was an excellent stay on my journey South. Debbie and Paul were very welcoming which was a great start. The facilities are brilliant and this provides a very comfortable stay. I was also able to store my bicycle safely and securely. I fully recommend West View Lodge to anyone looking for accommodation in the Basingstoke area

The accommodation is well advertised and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The chalet and surrounding gardens were lovely! It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The shower was excellent and the beds very comfortable. The free private parking and free WiFi were a real plus. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay! Looking forward to a return visit.

The hosts were very helpful & friendly. The room was comfortable, including the bed & spotless. I could use the shared kitchen..fridge & microwave. They put in tea & coffee for me. Supermarkets close by.

The location is next to a train track & electricity pylons. It didn't bother me..but people should be aware.
