The room was nice and cozy, I loved the colourful walls and the bed was comfortable, we slept well. The pasta I had for lunch (twice, once with chicken and once with seafood) was great.

The breakfast was not great, I was stuck with coffee and croissants every morning, as eggs were only cooked in one manner (and probably the only way I can’t eat them, with milk). Also, beans and fried food are not what I’m used to in the morning, some plain cheese, ham and fresh veggies and fruit would’ve been great. The noise from the club could be heard in the room, which was literally vibrating at some point- thankfully, it only lasted a couple of hours, but it was a great discomfort.

All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfy and well furnished and the facilities were great. We upgraded to a club room and enjoyed the use of the gym, sauna, spa pool and swimming pool, all of which were very good.

The layout of the bathroom meant that the towels for drying after the shower were the opposite side of the room to the shower itself and it was impossible to stop water running out of the shower onto the floor soaking the floor towel.

The shower was excellent and exceptionally clean, complemented by an illuminated mirror in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, with crisp, fresh linen, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful placement of a mirror above the desk, with both lighting and a conveniently located power socket—ideal for drying hair, something many hotels overlook. The hairdryer was not hardwired, which made it much easier to use. The room was also equipped with an iron and ironing board, and I enjoyed a peaceful, quiet night’s sleep. Overall, the facilities and comfort exceeded expectations.

Everything was great. Friendly staff. Great location and fairly priced

We have now stayed at the village hotel Basingstoke, Bracknell and Watford. Basingstoke being the best of the three. Friendly staff although the bar staff could be more attentive rather than chatting amongst themselves. Great space outside to relax although avoid the tall tables as they are extremely uncomfortable. The room is larger than the other two hotels mentioned, the bed is amazing and we enjoyed the see through bathroom (you can dim the glass). We guess that this is a newer hotel than the others. Walking distance from the station and plenty of parking outside. We paid for a club room but didn’t use the pool or gym unfortunately. Nice L’Or coffee machine in the room, just as good as Nespresso. The food is your usual pub food, hotel prices and not bad. Coleslaw with the burger needs a new recipe. We did wonder about security, you don’t need to use your room card to access the floors so anyone can access the rooms which is a concern. Great air conditioning for a hot day. Would stay again.

Security a bit suspect. Food could be better. Being on the top floor club room the rain shower was weak. Annoying light at ground level in the bathroom that switches on when you enter, although switches off can wake you up in the night if you need the loo.

Wow what a great place! If you want some life as well it’s a fantastic concept - stay, social & exercise all in one. The facilities in the bedroom were fantastic - loved the privacy glass in the bathroom, huge shower, electric black out blind, sensor light & the best magnifying mirror ever! Fittings were exceptionally good quality & the unusual room layout was fantastic. I’ll be looking to stay in a Village Hotel again in the future. Plus fantastic price & great location & & wonderful welcome at reception - what more could you want! Only downside - the gym bunnies hogging the disabled bays in the car park, presumably because the other bays are too far for them to walk & they’re conserving their energy!!!

The Staff were happy helpful and hotel is 5 years old and everything worked.

On arrival the check in never works for me at the village hotels. Me I guess ? Also then the add ons like paying for the gym swimming pool and £5 a night car park. It’s like Ryan air with the add ons. Also on Sunday afternoon, I was looking forward to the famous Village Sunday roast as I stay at the Village hotels all over the Uk and they are the best BUT !!! It was the worst dinner I’ve had in many a year !! Dry cold and taste less and the very smal yourshire puds could have been used as bullets !! Shame. Spoiled my Sunday

I loved the cleanliness, The swimming pool area is big, but can be busy depending on the times. The gym is absolutely amazing, I currently gym with a high class gym, But I left the booking considering a membership with village. The staff was very welcoming and helpful with any requests we had.

Our shower was not working, and as the hotel was fully booked we had to remain in the room overnight. However again the staff went over and beyond to offer support as it was a busy bank holiday it was difficult but they outsourced a plumber who fixed the issue

The hotel is clean and modern. The room was comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed. It’s walking distance from the town centre and has a free car park. We couldn’t figure out how to operate the air con in the room but the staff kindly fixed it for us.

The property uses web based chat to contact reception, in addition to a phone number. We tried to arrange a late check out on the web based system but the staff weren’t very responsive and we ended up having to call them. Other than that, everything was great!

Good facilities and the staff on the bar and breakfast in the morning were very bright and welcoming. Was lovely to have such good service. Nice space, the bathroom was bright and airy, the room felt bright because the privacy glass on the bathroom Let the light through.

The signage for the pool area was a bit confusing, though the pool and facilities were nice. The staff on the gym desk were a little abrupt, short and sharp but still helped.

Spaces and clean room, ample parking including electric charging station that came in handy. Would definitely book again. Close to the shopping centre. Staff was very helpful when i wanted to extend my room. Liked the fact that there was a Starbucks in the hotel, if you into coffee off course.

I would not say it is something that i did not like as the timeslots was displayed, but I wanted to take my kids for swimming but unfortunately missed the cut off time for them that was between 2pm and 6pm. Could maybe review the times to make it slightly earlier or extend by an hour maybe?
