The facilities are the best possible. How on earth 3000 plus visitors can give less than 10 with an average score of 7 beggars belief. What b and b, guest house, pub hotel or hostel offer a large swimming pool, sauna, steam room, restaurant, gym, conference rooms, a bar, a bath in every room, huge car parking and a 24hour reception? Oh, and all this for just over £40 a night. Seriously, don’t get to taken by poor ratings. Check this place out for yourself.

Nothing.

Oh, and all this for just over £40 a night. Seriously, don’t get to taken by poor ratings, especially when it asks if the price i paid matched my expectation. I had to put ''No'' because it exceeded my expectations by a country mile but the system will probably down mark the venue. Very odd system, thus the explaination. Check this place out for yourself.

I don't like the poor ratings this venue gets for the reasons above.

The opportunity to have a reasonably priced three course meal was appreciated given the location.

Being put into a room that was more or less above a dance band for a wedding happening at the venue. It was a hot night. The air conditioning had been turned off or wasn't working and the band played until midnight, so we had to keep the windows shut to try and (unsuccessfully) get some sleep. Accept such events occur, and that the band would play until late, but guests like us need to get housed away from the noise as far as possible.

The facilities boast a SAUNA, GYM, STEAM ROOM, BAR, LARGE CAR PARK, 24HR RECEPTION, FUNCTION ROOMS and RESTAURANT, so ask yourselves how many pubs, b and b's, hostels, hotels or any other venue for that matter, can offer such facilities? Oh, nearly forgot, every room i have stayed in has a bath as well, always with plenty of hot water. The figures you read 7.1 are clearly not current, Check this place out for yourself and as for the 7.5 for value for money, tell me where in Britain you can access all this for just over £40.

The only thing seems to be the restaurant closing early every time i stay. It advertises until 9pm but i have yet to be able to eat after 8pm. Maybe i was just unlucky.

Everything is fantastic about this hotel. I am leaving yet another similar review to prove just how many times i book into this amazing hotel with the BEST FACILITIES you are ever likely to find. GYM, SAUNA, STEAM ROOM, FUNCTION ROOMS, 24 HR RECEPTION, BATH IN EVERY ROOM, LARGE CAR PARK, RESTAURANT, BAR, POOL TABLE, WOODLAND TO WALK AROUND AND SO MUCH MORE.

I find it incredible that more people don't use this hotel and maybe that's why the it feels like a private hotel when its quiet, which isn't a bad thing for me. I just want more people to use it before we lose it from lack of patronage.

It was lovely having a refreshing swim after a long drive The lady at the bar was a scream, so funny and friendly

That they offered the meals to you at check in. Sign regarding this is not quite visible especially when tired. If paid after check in you pay extra. We didn’t notice sign in our room until we had showered and refreshed, so we couldn’t get dinner or breakfast at the discounted price, maybe being picky but when you convert Australian $ to English £ the difference is quite a lot of money. but this was my only gripe, rest of our stay was amazing

Absolutely exceptional in every way. The staff, Morgan, (reception and bar), Lucy (bar, and made a lovely vegan burger), Kate (dining room, at breakfast), Mohamned (check out), Amelia (gym, pool etc). The room attendants, who I didn't meet, but my room (201) was clean and very well presented. This hotel has amazing facilities, it lacks nothing in the room, wardrobe with quality hangers, two hairdryers, a safe, tea, coffee tray, towels and it welcomes dogs, which is fantastic, even though I now don't own one, it's so good hear. I had a warm welcome by Morgan when I arrived, he is a credit to the hotel, polite, friendly, well turned out and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nothing.

When I checked in, which was very straightforward, I tried to open my door with the key card but it kept flashing orange so I returned to reception where the receptionist was apologetic, very helpful and carried my 3 bags to my room and ensured I could open the door this time. The room was very quiet, no noise from the corridor, adjoining rooms or outdoors as I was in a room that faced the road.

It was a shame that the swimming pool, sauna and steam room were closed for refurbishment but I was attending a Christmas party at the hotel so didn't encourage me to discontinue my booking.

Very imposing and beautiful hotel which is being refurbished. Our room was lovely but bathroom not quite finished but nonetheless very nice. Bed wasn’t very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Didn’t use the leisure facilities but they looked really good.

Property itself was fine, good parking too. However, we arrived as two coaches arrived. We were visiting family and had arranged to meet them for dinner. We were in a hurry to check in. The coach party arrived in dribs and drabs and we followed one couple in. The receptionist told us to go and sit down and wait until he had dealt with the coach party! I don’t know how long this would have taken as they were all wandering up slowly. He actually got us some help once we said we were in a hurry and couldn’t do this. Perhaps receptionists should be told to check in individual couples first which wouldn’t take so long. That is our only bad comment about our experience and we would go back.

The Basingstoke Country Hotel, is in a great setting and within easy access to Borge Basingstoke and Camberley. The leisure club which is available for a small charge was well equipped clean and with helpful friendly staff. The reception staff were professional and attentive, while the restraint staff provided a lovely service for all the meals we had at the hotel.

It’s not necessarily a dislike, some of the room decor was a tad dated, and evident the the property knew of the heating fault in the room as there were 2 oil filled electric heaters under the dressing table, and one bedside lamp was not working
