The New Inn was conveniently located between the M3 and M4 with good road access and plenty of parking. We had a friendly welcome from staff and were quickly checked in and able to go to our room. It was a good size with a king size bed, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space plus the addition of arm chairs. There was a well stocked hospitality tray. The bathroom was well stocked and with a generous waterfall shower and plenty of hot water. The food was excellent from the excellent selection of well cooked evening meals to the included breakfast with help yourself cereals, fruit and juices and a cooked to order hot selection.

There was some road noise especially on weekday mornings but that is the price to pay for good transport links. The bed was a bit firm for my taste but I still managed to have a restful sleep.

The location was ideal to visit family in Hook. The hotel was clean, very comfortable, the room had tea and coffee making facilities, bottles of water were also provided. The modern bathroom has a large walk in shower rather than a bath, which we prefer. For anyone with mobility issues who would prefer a ground floor room then they do have these. However there are 3 steps down to the bedrooms and as an old grade 2 property full disability access is not possible. The owner is very friendly and chatted to us about the history of the property. The breakfasts are excellent and of a really good quality. We would certainly stay again if we come back to the area, excellent value for money.

I had a fantastic stay at the New Inn, Heckfield. The accommodation was excellent. It was more than I expected. The room was large and well provided; the en-suite facilities first class. I also stayed for an evening meal which was really great and the price quite reasonable. I was really impressed with the food service and quality; the size of the portions exceeded my expectations. This was again repeated at breakfast with a varied menu of both traditional English breakfast and other hot choices and a continental breakfast selection.the staff were both professional and friendly.

The New Inn is on a busy road so there is background traffic noise but this is a small inconvenience to pay against the whole experience

I just can't find a thing to criticise with the New Inn.  My hubby and I travel up from the West Country frequently and have stayed at many hotels from the most humble to a few more luxury.  New Inn is up there with the best. Booking in and out  on line makes things simple.  The room we had was large, cosy, warm, pristine clean and beautifully decorated with matching furniture that was in keeping with the age of the building.  The large radiator actually worked (many haven't leaving us freezing cold) and the shower room was modern, again pristine with a fantastic rainwater shower, white fluffy towels, lovely toiletries, tissues and a heated towel rail.   Attention to detail in the hotel is amazing.  They've thought of everything. Being in the country, you get an amazingly peaceful sleep in a super comfy bed and awake to a gorgeous view of sheep in the field opposite. We didn't have dinner as we met with friends and family but if breakfast is to go by, then dinner must be good.  We have previously dined in the hotel when we lived in the area but had no idea the accommodation was so good.  Plus it didn't break the bank, unlike some others.  Can't recommend enough.  Congratulations to the owners for getting everything right. This was the 5th or 6th time I've stayed at the New Inn and I would always try here first if needing accommodation in the Hook/Basingstoke area. Last time was pre-covid and there has been a change of management since then. It used to be good and now it's even better: the food, the room, the helpful, friendly staff, decent cask ale at the bar; oh, and a pedestal fan in the bedroom that was so superior to any other we've ever experienced that I intend to get one like it for my own house. Can't wait for another excuse to visit 😄.

The staff were super friendly, nothing seemed too much for them. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was incredibly clean. The food was excellent, with a great selection to choose from and good value for money. The staff checked regularly if anything else was required. Breakfast service started at 7am, as I was travelling for work I had to leave by 7.15am, in order that I did not miss out they took my order the night before and arranged for it to be prepared prior to the start of service and it was with me bang on 7am.

Rooms are very clean and spacious, the food in the restaurant is excellent. The staff were very polite and friendly and the service in the bar and restaurant was first class. I stayed here as I wanted to be close to Farnborough which was only 20 mins away by car. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it’s was rated as 2 star which doesn’t do this place justice. I found my visit relaxing and stress less after a long day at work. I enjoyed it so much I’ve already booked the hotel for my next two trips to farnborough.

From moment of arrival, Laura and her staff were exceptional and very welcoming. We were in area for local event and wanted a comfortable homely and relaxing place to stay. We had a meal in the evening which was delicious and beautifully presented. Room was great size, very clean and bed soo comfy. Great nights sleep in a really quiet and spacious room, breakfast was tasty and we had a great choice. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and would go back in a shot. The inn is also going through a refurb in some areas to keep standards high.

Unfortunately I spilt coffee!! Because I’m extremely clumsy! I cleaned up with towels from the bathroom, as I didn’t know what else to use. This resulted in an £85 cleaning charge, which was I thought steep. I would like to say it’s the first time I’ve spilt a drink in a hotel room! It isn’t, but is the first time I’ve been charged a cleaning fee! Maybe I’ve just been lucky in the past, but it was just a coffee stain.
