The grounds of the hotel were exceptional. Our room was basic, an odd layout with the bed having one side against a wall. It was clean but in need of an update in some areas.

The bed was in an odd position in the room with one side against the wall. The pillow was lumpy, and the bed wasn't overly comfortable.

The grounds and general mansion were exceptional. The staff were so friendly and helpful - I saw Mandy the receptionist most days and she could have not done anymore for me as was true of most of the lovely staff but I didn’t get all their names. Also had a long conversation with the General Manager who was very receptive to my comments about the rooms and I was shown a recently refurbished room and told they were all in the process of being done. Great bars and could not fault the food. Plenty of parking.

Rooms very tired and seriously in need of refurbishing. The blind in my room was not acceptable as it didn’t block out the whole window which was a problem at night when the bedroom light was on. I think it should be made clear to guests that depending on which room you are in it good be noisy until late due to the Hotel functions but personally that did not affect me. That said I would not hesitate to go back even in its present state as the surroundings made up for it.

The grounds are beautiful! The room we stayed in was a great size. The bathroom didn't have a door, and was raised by 1 step from the bedroom, which was a bit of a hazard with a 1 year old, but manageable. The main house was absolutely beautiful inside, although I couldn't get any info about it from the staff at all, and all of the brochures that were available were about wedding packages. Some info about the house and grounds in the leaflet in the room would have been a nice touch. We had a lovely stay overall though.

The bathroom was a little dusty, and the tap dripped, which was super annoying with there being no door to the bathroom.. I ended up having to put a towel in the sink to muffle the sound.

The staff were delightful- they made us feel at home and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The grounds were stunning and the atmosphere was very peaceful and quiet, we arrived a little early on our first day and took a walk in the woods, we saw loads of deer in the neighbouring fields and there were gorgeous rhododendrons by the walking route. The dining area had recently been refurbished, it looked amazing! The food was great and our room at the Grange was comfortable and very clean. Check-in and check-out were very easy too. We would definitely recommend staying here and we hope to come again.

There was limited disabled parking at the Grange, so when it was taken we had to walk a little further than we were hoping to. But thankfully we had access to a disabled spot when we were loading and unloading the car so it wasn’t too much of an issue for us.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, I had booked the Grange though the room I was given for a solo trip was ground floor and the patio doors did not lock but when I called reception they moved my room immediately. Breakfast was also decent, a value for money stay overall. The grounds are naturally stunning and I had a good nights sleep.

Though it was a value for money stay I feel sad that the decor in a lot of places is in need of updating and fixing but understand that for a building of this age that must be an expensive job to do. Maybe by renovating room by room then upping the prices for each room it would allow for work to be completed as it felt tired, missing tiles, cracks in grout etc. This did not ruin my stay as it felt clean.

Lovely Picturesque setting and beautiful place. Very romantic for a weekend away.

The staff were all very young and very timid, at times difficult to hear what they were saying due to being shy. However, they were very helpful. When we arrived the bath and taps were stained with limescale, however someone did come and take a look but there was nothing they could do. Breakfast was delicious, although when I asked a waiter if the sausages were gluten free, he replied yes but I'll check with the chef and then the next time I saw him he brought me gluten free toast.

Good full English breakfast, clean room. Extra heating in the room. Parking right outside the building. Room in a quiet area. Ducks and geese walking around the main garden. Amazing walk laid out with pebbles. Nice views on the property. Easy access by car and we'll lit up in the evening. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick check in and check out. Great staff at breakfast. Close to M3 and Wokingham. Close to beautiful, green areas which are great for walking.

I liked everything. One suggestion would be to have tissues in the room/bathroom.

Room was lovely and spacious, the grounds are beautiful and quiet and we had a lovely stay. The facilities were great, the 2x water bottles each were a nice touch. It would have been nice to have some herbal teas. Dinner was lovely a touch expensive but delicious and the staff at the evening meal were lovely. Breakfast was a 7 out of 10, it was a buffet style and I was expecting a buffet service plus an a la cart menu with a variation of eggs and maybe a big protein greek natural yoghurt, ( there were small flavoured yoghurt) would be nice for those that would like a protein boost in the morning without eating meat. The only thing that bothered me was that the room next door had a light on all night. The light seeped through all the edges of door as its an interlinking door between the two rooms. I tried to block up- to no avail , so the stream of light coming into my room did affect my sleep. It would have been nice to be able to get tea and coffee in the open rooms - not sure of the name of the room but like a morning room and the fires lit would give a cosy and invited atmosphere, also a local map of walks in the welcome folder would be great. Plus the menu from the restaurant could be popped in there too.

As a small business owner who travels a lot with work, I tend to look for lower cost hotels. For the price, this hotel is excellent value to money. Yes it’s not a 5 star but you are not paying 5 star prices. The staff are so lovely, my room was clean and a great size. Yes it was a little tired but it was still nice. The breakfast and dinner were fantastic, the grounds lovely. I wasn’t in the main building so I checked in before parking and then just jumped in my car to move to the car park near my room.

It needs a bit of an update but it didn’t impact my stay.

Gorgeous hotel in beautiful setting. The room was a good size, comfortable with toiletries provided. I really enjoyed the breakfast with a window seat over the canal. Very nice modern bar in the conservatory - and make sure you eat at the Canal View restaurant. The food tasted amazing, lots of choice and presentation pretty. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.

The Grange is a little walk away from the reception/ restaurant/bar and it was covered in wet leaves, so a bit dangerous to walk. It's also not lit with any lights! They were out of NZ White wine by the glass which was disappointing. Although the staff were really apologetic and friendly. The lighting in the room is dreadful. Bring a torch :)
