I loved the bedroom number 109, the bathroom was very nice, the bed very comfortable, the room view over the gardens was perfect, I originally was given a stable room but upgraded to in house, staff on reception were very good.. The bar is beautiful and lovely people serving. I ate a lovely vegan burger, very happy to see that on the menu.

Room 109 bathroom door very squeaky and during the night if one of us went to the toilet it woke the other up with the loud squeaking opening and closing of the door and it spoiled both our sleeps and we were both so tired by the time to get up because of broken sleep. I did mention to reception on check out that it needs oiling..

Depends what you look for in location - it is out of the way, but not by much. The setting that the hotel is in is amazing, The grounds are stunning as is the hotel. If you have a pet, you can ware them out just walking around the extensive grounds. Morrisons and good pubs are close by if you are looking for food away from the hotel. We did not eat at all in the hotel.

Note this is a wedding hotel. On our recent visit they had 2 weddings, but as we stayed in the stable block the noise didn't impact us, but worth bearing in mind in case you go for a quiet break.

Outstanding Beautiful grounds which could do with a bit more outdoor dining seating area experiences especially as the weather gets better and with its easy location's it has a lot of potential with Exemptions service by Naman who from the three visits I have had and attended an end of year work party has always been hospitable and gone above and beyond delivering service . Jo from the reception gave a lovely welcome and first point of contact and so was Tom .

Some staff lacked training and upon serving the afternoon tea didn’t offer top up of hot drinks neither having any sort of communication when they brought the cake stand . It was more of placed it on the table and walked away and upon requesting for tea top up the staff asked I was sure I wanted the top up and made it sound as though I wouldn’t be able to pay for it

Stunning gothic revival building on the site of a genuine Elizabethan manor where Henry VIII courted Jane Seymour. Packed with portraiture and drenched in detail. A treasure

I got an amazing deal on a Sunday night in January - a great time to visit a top hotel because it’s quiet. But they do try to upsell you quite hard and the food was tasty but priced on the high side for quite simple elegant but cheap to prepare dishes. It must cost a lot to run a place like Elvetham and I probably couldn’t afford it any other time; the people who can would not necessarily be concerned about the food prices I guess

We really loved the character of the property, the restoration is done to the highest quality, all of the reception rooms on the ground floor were absolutely gorgeous! Even the washrooms, beautiful. Especially loved the conservatory which was beautiful painted wood, everything such high quality, overlooking the courtyard gardens which had festoon lit paths in the evening. Wonderful gardens so well maintained, wonderful staff, absolutely fabulous food and we really felt we had incredible value. The building itself is just so lovely to explore, gorgeous picture windows. Extremely comfortable sofas everywhere, it all felt very luxurious. Heating in room easy to control, we stayed in the Autumn so it wasn’t too hot. Wonderful 5k walk across fields with countryside views, bring wellies if out of summer season to enjoy it to the max! Autumn trees sensational colours everywhere. Thank you so much to all the staff for giving us such a fantastic weekend!

We loved everything, couldn’t fault it at all

We attended an outdoor performance of Hamlet here over the summer, and thought to ourselves, “How is it we’ve never visited before? We drive past The Elvetham every week!” So, for our 21st wedding anniversary, we finally decided to stay for the night — and what a wonderful choice it was. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like celebrities. The staff made us feel incredibly special, and the grounds were simply stunning, perfect for a peaceful autumn afternoon stroll. Everything was beautifully maintained and full of history. It’s amazing to think that royalty once stayed here hundreds of years ago.

The shower in room 163 (not the en-suite, just the shower) was a bit cramped.

Magnificient hotel Exterior & interior, all are gogeous, traditional, historical Enormous garden with lots of flowers and detailed maintenance Staffs in reception, at dinner & breakfast. all are very agreable with smile, very professionnal. Room is clean, enough spacious, Bed is wide and very confortable.

Only one negatif point for us, for foreign tourist(France), the payment in cash for hotel can't be accepted, only by Credit Card is accepted, which is so hard for us, because we don't know this recent system. It would be kind for the clients if the hotel could inform us in advance of this payment system. However, this hotel adjusted this problem flexibly.

Fantastic location, the grounds are amazing. Our room was quiet away from any late night noise. We could barely hear our room neighbours even though know they were present. Very good bath, much better than most hotels. Good size rooom. Friendly staff all round. Nice and tasty dinner with a decent menu.

The bedroom was not well stocked, no range of teas, coffees or alternative drinks. For the price expected options in the room fridge. The bed was far too firm, it felt like a specialist bed aimed at the elderly or people with severe back problems. Several times waiters forgot our orders e.g. we twice asked for additional bread at dinner and gave up in the end, after having to ask for glasses of wine three times. There was a wedding on so gave some leeway for wait times for drinks, but no excuse for dinner. Also I'm the case of one round of red wine, it was served too cold, presumably straight from a freezing cellar. This did not equate to a disappointing stay, but there were a few quibbles.

When we drove up the winding, beautiful drive to the stunning entrance, we actually thought we had booked the wrong hotel. Surely, they don’t allow dogs to stay in such a beautiful and luxurious hotel! However, we were quickly reassured by the young gentleman who checked us in. I didn’t catch his name, but he couldn’t have made us and our dog feel more welcome. Every single member of your team was friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy. It was noticeable how much effort you have put into training your staff, and it showed in every area we ventured to. The grounds and the history of the hotel are also incredible. Thank you for an unforgettable experience at The Elvetham. We look forward to returning to this stunning manor hotel.

There was nothing we didn’t like!

Our upgraded deluxe double was fantastic.Great view, comfortable bed. Lovely choice of teas and coffees. Dinner was great. Staff were attentive, Emily at dinner, Chandler and Heather at breakfast. Joe on front desk.The building is stunning.

The bathroom was sooo cold, no way to heat it up.At breakfast milk was off. It got changed. WHY do you have only kids cereal cornflakes rice crispies and coco pops!! Where was the muesli, or weetabix.The pastries were lovely.Cooked breakfast very tasty. My flat white made by chandler was perfect.
