It’s definitely a great place to unplug from the city, felt a trip back in the past days. A royal venue! We were lucky with the nice weather so we enjoyed lunching outside and walking around the massive gardens. Lovely for a weekend get away.

Quite disappointed about the internal pool facilities. The pool is quite old, not taking care much, and the jacuzzi tub very small and the water was very cold! Not much personnel around the pool, so it’s very self service in terms of towels and keep it clean. Disappointed to find out the sauna were inside the changing room, a very dark room, no light in it, where you felt very claustrophobic. The outside pool in better condition, not as big as pictured, however still very cold water and quite dated.

The bar area and restaurant were lovely, the food was wonderful. The location and grounds made the stay, the grounds are stunning with beautiful walks, you dont need to venture any further!!!

I had hoped the outdoor pool would be open! Also the restaurant and bar area was very warm!!! The pool area was quite busy with children and no life guard on duty so they were jumping and splashing and screaming alot. I have 2 children so I dont mind a bit of fun but the rating on the booking website rated highly for couples which is why I chose this hotel. I wanted to use the sauna and pool facilities as a relaxing experience (as I'd left the kids with their grandparents) but i didnt stay more than 2 minutes as unfortunately it wasnt relaxing.

The room was lovely, slightly dated but as it was one of the main house rooms that felt ok given how large it was and the period features. The bathroom could do with a little TLC. The Dinner was delicious but the staff at dinner seemed a bit disorganised, ordered things that never arrived and saw someones dinner get dropped on the floor. Breakfast was excellent and the staff working that shift particularly helpful and friendly. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed a nice stroll in the morning.

Whilst we didn't have any treatments, the spa felt a little forgotten although the pool was nice and bright. For the price of the stay I'd have expected better spa facilities.

Beautiful building in a fantastic setting. The staff were extremely good. The lounge areas were hosted perfectly by the staff .. if only we could have eaten breakfast in that area as it was empty and breakfast was hectic!

Queuing for breakfast! It’s a vast dining room and queuing in the hallway was not great. The wait at breakfast to order and also for it to come. The buffet selection was poor as it was pretty non existent and the full English was ok. Nothing great but it was hot. It was an ok experience. I did overhear the next table saying the pancakes were the best ever .. I should have had those. Also..a lot of children allowed to just run and scream really loudly .. everywhere.

The grounds remain lovely and the amenities are still good although the snooker table has gone and the fake greenery around the indoor pool is looking pretty naff. The staff were all great and helpful and all bar one was cheerful - I'll take those numbers any day.

Both dinners were tepid. We gave them the benefit of the doubt the first night as it was quite busy. The big fish dish at dinner was the only one that was hot (1 out of 5) as well as the fries with the chateaubriand. Everything else was tepid at best. Shame as the food was delicious. The second night was exactly the same. Not sure how far the food has to come from the kitchen. Shame as the presentation and taste were good - just not hot.

The pool areas, the grounds and the building itself is stunning. Take some time out to explore around because there are ponds, a lake, tennis court and a beautiful lawn. Good choices for breakfast, lovely room for dinner and a games room we played table tennis in. Free parking.

Despite checking in an hour later than 3pm, our room wasn't ready and we weren't offered a complimentary drink (which is usually the case in nice hotels like this). I wish the outdoor pool was properly heated. Only small, but I made them aware the stay was for a birthday and it wasn't acknowledged. Again, other nice hotels have often added a little something before. I don't expect free things, but the fact I spent quite a bit on this stay, a little recognition would have been nice.

The location, the grounds and the building are all stunning. Clean room , well appointed overlooking the courtyard. Delicious breakfast with much to choose from. Staff were friendly and polite and very hard working.

I felt a bit rushed at check in and getting into the spa and getting food delivered there (we couldn't get to our room before 3 but could use the facilities) because we hadn't eaten was overly complicated and took a long time. By the time we got our coffee it was almost cold.

Breakfast was enjoyable. Nice selection. relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed the outside pool and relaxing in the very sunny warm weather. Beautiful grounds to walk round. I went for a run a few times. the paths were good but it would be good if there were marked sign posts to give you routes for 2k or 5k runs

It would have been nice to see instructions for the Croquet on the lawn. It would be good to mark on the ground the electric charging bays. There were cars parked in the front of the chargers that were not electric.

Beautiful grounds and lovely weather to use the outdoor pool. Lovely big bedroom in the Mansion house with comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely walk in the grounds after check out with all the other guests who'd checked out!!

Restaurant was a bit disappointing. My husband's 'curried salmon' didn't really live up to expectations and poached eggs at breakfast were all overcooked. Good service in the restaurant though. Saunas in changing rooms were a bit small. Changing rooms could do with updating, they seemed rather tired.

Room was very nice, spacious comfortable. Large bathroom with toiletries supplied. Biscuits and beverages available in room, and replenished by turn down service. The gardens are lovely and extensive, even in February, and worth exploring.

There was a noise coming from under the roof over night, which disturbed our sleep. It would have been nice to have some fresh milk in the fridge. The bathroom taps were not working very well, and there was no fan in the bathroom. The room was in the upper part of the building, so there were a lot of eaves restricting the ceiling height. As we are both tall, a lower level room would have been more comfortable for us.
