Nice large room with view, beautiful spacious bathroom and large shower. The breakfast was fantastic with a room/table of self-serve continental options plus an included cooked menu item. Before leaving, we did a lovely circular walk from the property around the Wellington Estate on minor roads, paths and through fields (reception has very detailed printed instructions if you ask).

Minor points to note: Property is off a main road and rooms at the front or side could possibly be affected by some road noise. We enjoyed dinner in the outside seating area but it would be lovely if the flower planters were maintained.

Food was amazing location fantastic felt staff were overwhelmed working really hard never moaned / but had wedding baby shower / we were there just to relax eat drink in nice place for little break was perfect / breakfast outstanding / had meal evening sat and even though it seemed they were running around for functions our service food was amazing

Found it abit rude that’s table hear door to garden so when eating our meal people were going past rite next to us chatting or going toilet why we were eating / this is not the places thought but rude members public so maybe move tables away from open doorway

The 10/10 score is solely for the wonderfully & thoughtfully designed rooms. Spacious & super clean with lots of extra benefits, including a much appreciated Nespresso machine, wonderful selection of teas and bathrobes. Very comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom with great shower. Everything was just perfect. Excellent value for money.

The pub & restaurant side is sadly unwelcoming in design, with unpleasant white lighting. The food options, although perfectly cooked, were small and overpriced. The wine menu was very poor value with an excessive markup. The ale wasn't well kept. The good news is there are plenty of well run, wonderful pubs within a short drive (excluding a very poor Youngs pub).

We stayed at The Wellington Arms overnight while attending a wedding in the local area, as we needed somewhere comfortable to rest before making the long journey home. The hotel itself makes a great first impression, a beautiful Georgian-style building with a well-kept exterior that reflects the character within. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed at reception. The receptionist was kind enough to offer help with our luggage as there is no lift in the building, though we managed just fine. Our room was clean, tidy, and retained some of the charm you’d expect from such a characterful building. The following morning before check-out, we enjoyed breakfast in the dining area where we were looked after by Luke, who made sure we were well fed and comfortable, Luke was lovely and has a cheerful presence. You might even hear Luke singing, as he walks around breakfast area. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return if we’re in the area again.

Room was lovely, clean and had character and we slept well. There was a tiny bit of mould in the shower area but nothing else other than that.

Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Female receptionist on our arrival was so welcoming and helpful. A really positive start to our weekend. Breakfast staff were helpful and friendly and the member of staff from Cornwall (sorry I didn’t get his name), was unbelievably kind and thoughtful when we had our final breakfast before our departure.

We may have missed a sign indicating the entrance to reception as we drove into the car park, and so walked through the pub door and took a longer route through the building. Fortunately we didn’t have cases with us at that time. However, we may have just not noticed the sign and will know to park at the back on our next stay.

Quaint and quirky, can't fault the friendly and attentive staff. A lovely, peaceful atmosphere in general. Dinner was good, waiting staff were quick and proffessional. Breakfast was much the same, great guy serving, energetic character to set the tone for a good day. The produce for the full english is clearly quality stuff. Also, bed was very very comfortable.

Rooms were well thought out, and I believe, intially, they were impressive and comfortable. However, it's clear that's it's not been maintained well. Plenty of scuff and marks on walls, curtains stained, bathroom grout a little bit gross. The accessible chair in the bathroom (despite not having any need for it myself) was full of grime and limescale. Toilet and basin was clean and seemed well looked after. Yeah, just a slight shame.

The property is very clean and quiet. It is super-dog-friendly, with dogs allowed in the restaurant and at breakfast. The staff are polite, friendly and very efficient. The breakfasts are lovely, the bar area is nice and the meals in the cozy dining area are good. There was a technical problem with our first room; we were moved without fuss and given a partial refund as compensation, (which was a lovely gesture). We also had a complimentary glass of Prosecco at dinner as it was a special occasion. It was our second time at the Wellington, and the lady on Reception remembered us! (Thanks so much for your help, btw). We will definitely return. Thanks so much!

Nothing - all good.

I dare you to find fault Checked in 30 minutes early and wasn’t a problem. Shown to my room. When does that happen? Nice touch. When we got to the room the curtains were pulled as it was a hot day and a fan was on. Again nice touch. In the room a radio was gently playing. Again nice touch. Someone has thought about this and made it happen so well done. Room was very well equipped with water, coffee and tea making facilities. Bed was great with a selection of pillows. I was staying overnight as this was a working trip. Great and easy WiFi which is a must. Restaurant and bar was busy for a Wednesday which says a lot. It came under pressure at the peak time but again that says a lot. I ate in the bar area. Great menu, good selection and I dare you to eat of the Chicken Escalope. I asked for a 10 minute gap between the starter and the main course which was also delivered. Best shower, best fluffy and big towels, great bed. Breakfast is comprehensive with fresh fruit and a hot breakfast cooked to order. This place is well run, managed and with nice touches everywhere. Will definitely return

Beautiful rooms and easy to find in the hotel. The bathroom was very spacious and the soaps provided smelt amazing. We had a nice view of the outside wedding ceremony area which was great.

At breakfast there were some fruit flies we noticed which wasn't very appealing. For the room the bed was comfortable but the pillows we felt were quite hard so found it hard to get comfy. On our check in we were told check out was 11am which we thought was great but when we went for breakfast just after 10am we were told check out was 10am. I overheard someone else at check out say the same about being told to check out at 11am. This was a little confusing.

Super-clean room and a spacious bathroom with an absolute essential, a really good shower!! It also had the other essential, a very comfortable bed with high quality linen. I'mExcellent room facilities, coffee, tea, hairdryer, bathrobe. The staff welcoming and friendly throughout, in reception, the bar, the restaurant and at breakfast. Free parking right next to the entrance to reception was a bonus. Overall a really comfortable and relaxed stay, I highly recommend it.

The only niggle, and it's a minor one, was that we had a room adjoining the stairwell and in the morning you couldn't fail to hear people coming down to breakfast etc.
