The Hotel is lovely and ideally located for the festival we had tickets for. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly nothing was a trouble for them and our room was huge. Breakfast was lovely lots of choice and cooked perfectly.

Unfortunately our room was on the first floor to the side of the function room so it was very noisy on the Friday night with a party disco and went on until 12.30 am. The following night was a wedding function which although we could hear the music it finished at midnight so not as bad. Having booked in for 5 nights it would have been nice to have been given a quieter room. The other nights were very peaceful.

We found it very peaceful. We stayed on a Thursday night and the only sound.was the birds flying around. We booked a suite with breakfast. It had floor to ceiling windows that looked out on to the car park and the garden. We could see our car which was reassuring. The suite had large rooms. It was all very clean with a big bed and good quality bedding. The TV had lots of channels available to watch. The hotel made us feel relaxed and the staff made us feel welcome. There were hot chocolate and tea sachets lovely biscuits and bottles of water. There was a set of luxury complimentary bath products. The room was warm and we could open a window for fresh air. The staff were amazing. Carried my bag to my room. The staff were polite and Very attentive. We had dinner in the bar which was delicious and good value. We had breakfast in the library which was hot and arrived quickly. There was a very fancy multi drink maker which made a beautiful cappuccino. The staff said they had just completed a substantial refurbishment with the replacement of carpets for solid wood flooring and re-decorating throughout the hotel, which was evident as many of the walls looked newly painted. All the wooden surfaces were polished to a shine The staff played romantic music whilst we had dinner. Even though we were the only ones in the bar. The grounds are well looked after and full of trees that made the hotel very dreamy and secluded.

I really can't think of anything to be honest. Though I didn't see the smaller rooms and I didn't go when they were hosting a wedding.

Comfortable beds, I have stayed here once a week for around 3 months, it's just what I need, lovely big rooms, always nice and warm, very friendly staff, I always feel welcomed. Plenty of room in the overflow car park (the car park at the front gets full quite quickly) Some evenings there are functions on so there's a little less parking but I've always managed to find a space. Breakfast is great. I've had dinner a few times here and it's reasonably priced for a hotel and although I'm not a foodie I've enjoyed it when I've had it, also a well stocked bar with a few different draught offerings. I plan on staying here again and would recommend wholeheartedly.

Some of the rooms are a little tired, I've stayed in a few of them now and I've noticed even over the past few months they've changed them with new furniture and carpets, so I believe there is an ongoing effort to improve them. Also some rooms don't have desks to work at, although they all have sofas or chairs and a television. Sometimes there are functions on, weddings etc as the grounds are very pleasant so there's occasional loud music playing, I've only had this a couple of times but carry earplugs now just in case, though this is mentioned on their website.

Great location with phenomenal breakfast (wide selection of continental food including fresh pastries, menu of hot food to choose from including eggs benedict and pancakes, coffee machine with decaf options). We stayed in a room in the cottage which was slightly apart from the main building - perfect for peace and quiet even during events. The room was spacious and the bathroom also had hand rails that helped my elderly mum.

It would have been useful to receive instructions about disabled parking (we drove around both car parking areas looking for disabled spaces to find out the disabled areas were unavailable due to an event). Luckily there were some spaces in the car park close to the main building. Other guests left drinks around the car park that weren't cleared up until the following day which could easily have become a hazard for drivers from broken glass.

I am disabled and found the room which was situated in a cottage in the garden to be very comfortable and easy to get around. The hotel general rooms were easily accessible as well. Evening meals was very enjoyable and was reasonably priced.

Would liked to have been warmer in the bedroom. Didn't find out until the next morning that the thermostat governing temperature of the room was in the lobby just outside the bedroom. Would be aware of this if and when I revisigt.

Cheap and cheerful, we stayed here as it was in close proximity to an event at Tofte Manor and for the price you can’t go wrong. Albeit the rooms could do with a little bit of TLC. The shower was mega, bed was extremely comfy, it was peaceful at all times and the tea/coffee/biscuits/complimentary bottles of water were a great touch

Couldn’t moan for the price, but it could be a stunning place with a bit of renovation. Looks stunning from the outside and grand downstairs but there was some wallpaper hanging off in the room and the odd fitting was a bit loose. The place was cleanly and facilities were adequate but the roof which our doors looked on to could have done with a bit of a clean, not to mention we were unable to open the French doors probably for safety purposes and myself and my partner couldn’t help but notice the curtains for the window and doors were completely different heights

So, looking at prior reviews I decided to book this on a whim. What I can say is that the surroundings are amazing. Located close to the city centre but far enough away to not be bothered by traffic flowing past. Plenty of parking spaces, beautiful hotel with an interesting history. Our room was fantastic, quiet and a great view of the tranquil gardens from the windows. We are coming back and hopefully sooner rather than later. Staff helpful and pleasant and the breakfast (we were out in the evenings) was perfect with plenty of choice. How this place has 3 stars I'll never know.

Nothing to complain about at all. It's perfect for couples who want an idyllic weekend.

I have stayed before so I know that your rooms are lovely, airy, warm & comfortable.I like the decor & view of the gardens. Usually good value. In a quiet location some distance away from the town centre, but with a couple of local shops & pubs within walking distance.

I understand that there is always a pre-warning about the fact that the hotel is a party & wedding venue & this is the first time that I’ve fallen foul of this.It was the first time I’ve paid more for my room than previously & the first time I have been on the ground floor. There was a wedding & my room was right next to/among all the celebratory rooms so it was noisy until midnight.I just thought it would have been better to put wedding guests in that room & me further away! However,I did book late…. I am just reporting, not complaining

I stayed in a suite overlooking the front lawn and it was lovely. Truly evocative of a Victorian Gentlefolk bedroom with large raised bed area, lounge in front of a pretty (non-working) fireplace, huge separate dressing room with desk (work or make-up) and chaise lounge and a checkered bathroom with claw foot bath and over shower. Very romantic even if staying for work, but definitely so if staying for romantic reasons. The price was excellent as well being the same as a local premier inn. Breakfast was also great value and large enough to cover you until dinner time. Surroundings are lovely and worth a gentle stroll in the grounds in the fresh early morning. I will stay here again when next in Bedford and recommend it for others too.

It is not so much not like, just an observation. With the large single pane bay windows, it can feel a bit cool in the room in early morning mid-winter. To counter that, they do provide lovely thick bath robes that were very warming and if staying on romantic reasons, I am sure there are even better ways to stay warm. Whilst this is under this heading, as I write it, I can see that it probably is in fact another positive.

Superb staff at the desk. Spacious room. Luxurious decoration around the bed. Tasty breakfast. Strong menu at the pub.

The staff was multitasking in various roles, you're lucky they are so dedicated to not making mistakes. Please hire more and allow them to focus. I liked everything otherwise. I believe the pub could add more dining space and attract more non guests, make it a destination in the area. You should offer Valentines packages and other seasonal experiences for couples too.
