Good location with on site parking - an easy walk into the city. Light, spacious and comfortable room. Superb breakfast, catering for a range of appetites and tastes. Friendly and welcoming staff. Our third stay and the place we choose after having tried several other hotels in Canterbury. (The pool and garden are also a bonus, but we didn't have time this visit.)

There's nothing not to like.

The kitchen was very supportive in accommodating my husband's coeliac. We really enjoyed having the pool and the spa.

We were not provided with any info about wifi - paid or otherwise. This would have been helpful when we were in the room, but wasn't a major issue.

Loved the break fast and swimming pool which was the best on the stay off all especially aswell the staff themselves who was very helpful and friendly non stop they always had a really good chat lots

Sadly the let downs was the first bedroom was near the road side which was very difficult too even sleep so had too be moved too another room and better one which again only main let down was it was too hot so had too open the window more especially if ur out all day and come back at night the most

There were quite a number of different people on reception during my stay, and all were very helpful and pleasant. Only breakfast was served from a meal point of view. The breakfast is a self serve warm meal, and the person overlooking it, is very obliging and attentive. In the time scale 9am to 10am there are fewer guests around, or were when I was there, and there is a lot of waste after breakfast, and a fresh breakfast to order would probably be less wasteful, and a lot better quality for the guest. Free parking is offered to guests staying at the hotel, but not enough for all guests if the hotel is full. Free parking in Canterbury is well worth having, as the hotel is fairly close to the city centre. Some rooms are available on the ground floor (although there are some steps which have to be navigated whichever room you are in), but request such a room if you need one, as there are no lifts.

Lack of information in rooms. It would be helpful if information was given to recommended places to eat, of different types of places to eat, or places to buy food. Housekeeping staff were not that helpful (certainly not all of them), and on one day that I was staying, I was nearly overlooked altogether. I was given no information that there was a bar in the hotel, or a lounge for guests, when I arrived. I was advised to such facilities, when another member of staff pointed it out to me.

Very pleasant staff on reception and at breakfast; good location for walking into town and leaving car in secure car park at hotel; very good breakfast (hot and cold) and well laid out and good variety; very clean throughput and evidence of some refurbishment / redecoration (carpet, curtains etc.); lots of cupboard space in room for clothes etc.

The room was a bit plain - white / cream walls with no pictures or anything to alleviate the blandness - but the walls appeared to have been recently painted and so maybe just a matter of time before the room gets a bit more colour into it.

Room was very comfortable, the breakfast was good, good choice and the service was good although it was mostly buffet. Food was good although the fresh fruit was from a tin .

The lack of evening facilities, we were out enjoying Canterbury for most of the day and evening but it would have been nice to have a bar and lounge to have a nightcap in before retiring to bed. We did notice a lounge area as we left on our last day but this was never offered to us and it had not been obviously open during our stay. Admittedly we did not ask so this may have been available Also parking was tight. We got parked and left it there throughout our stay, but they are only a few parking spaces

Location was great, only 15 mins walk to the centre of Canterbury. Staff were very helpful.Buffet breakfast was good with lots of options.The fresh filter coffee is to die for. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well equipped. It's just around the corner from Aldi and a barbers,chip shop ,bars and pizza take away.

Very few parking spaces.If the carpark is full you can park in the pay and display 10 mins walk away. We had a four poster bed room (number 12)which was well equipped but very noisy as if was facing the main road , having said that we loved the room and bought ear plugs which enabled us to sleep through the noise.

Friendly staff allowed us to park for the day while we looked around Canterbury, less than 10mins walk away for lots to see and some great restaurants. Our family room was ideal, a double room, with adjoining twin bed room, bright and clean. The decor is appropriate for 3*. The full English breakfast buffet, with hot and cold options, was excellent. The staff opened the pool for us in the morning for a swim before we left - a nice pool for the 4 of us to get a bit of swimming exercise. Bit too cool for lounging around, but it was freezing outside at the time. Lots of hot shower water.

Minor downsides is light traffic noise as we were on the top floor of the original house - didn't bother me, but my wife is a lighter sleeper. This has been well addressed by the hotel with additional inner window. Other rooms likely do not have any noise.

The staff went above and beyond during the entirety of our stay. They carried our bags to our room which we weren't expecting but very much appreciated. Before we'd even got out of the car somebody came to the car park to explain the best spots to park in because the car park is quite tight. After a swimming session I hadn't realised I'd left some jewellery on the poolside and the following morning a staff member brought it back to me - I'm assuming they saw it was mine from the CCTV or saw me wearing it the day before - totally unexpected as I hadn't realised I'd forgotten it and would have left the city without it otherwise!

Excellent staff, especially Radu, who seemed to do every job extremely well. Pool lovely, clean & safe with excellent showers. Breakfast was delicious. Large white fluffy towels. Very pretty garden. Lots of storage in room. Lots of tea, coffee & milk & refills when needed. Public areas clean & tidy. 15 min walk to the city. Free parking on site.

Bathroom dirty, lots of hair & dirt in corners, bath edging filthy & corners of shower black, shower didn’t work, towel rail missing, supposed to have toiletries but only supplied shampoo & bar of soap, no shower gel.. beds & pillows very, very hard.. Radu in reception very apologetic & helpful & immediately asked housekeeping for a spare duvet to put under the sheet. I was given one, but the housekeeping just left it on the chair, no cover on it. It was very badly stained but doubled it & put it under the sheet so at least I could get some sleep. One of the duvet covers had a huge rip in it, the housekeeping must of seen it when they made the bed?? The lamps were thick dust, as was the bed end & the tops.
