Good location with on site parking - an easy walk into the city. Light, spacious and comfortable room. Superb breakfast, catering for a range of appetites and tastes. Friendly and welcoming staff. Our third stay and the place we choose after having tried several other hotels in Canterbury. (The pool and garden are also a bonus, but we didn't have time this visit.)

There's nothing not to like.

The kitchen was very supportive in accommodating my husband's coeliac. We really enjoyed having the pool and the spa.

We were not provided with any info about wifi - paid or otherwise. This would have been helpful when we were in the room, but wasn't a major issue.

Loved the little courtyard for sitting outside to relax.

Car parking spaces are limited and small spaces. We were lucky to have a space for our stay..due to this issue we caught a bus to Whitstable and Herne Bay as didn't want to lose our space but would stay here again. Could hear people in other rooms but was only till bedtime. Shower over bath 🛁 was bit weak but a good tip to use shower after swimming in the changing area was fab 👌

We stayed in the four-poster room and found it very comfortable for our 4 night stay. Large room and bathroom, plenty of mirrors and good lighting. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and plenty of choice. The pool was a lovely treat to come back to after a big day out. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the centre of Canterbury, and having on-site parking was a real bonus. The only minor downside was that the room was quite warm, and there’s no air conditioning—though this seems common in the UK. Being on a main road, there was a bit of traffic noise when the windows were open. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely return. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The property was clean and staff were really nice and helpful. However the bed in our initial room was very squeaky. After we completed thankfully they transferred us to another room which was nice. Breakfast was lovely.

One thing that would have improved our stay is having a fridge in the room. Additionally, there aren’t many good restaurants nearby. It would be fantastic if the property could consider adding a functional restaurant on. This would be especially helpful since we had to buy water from outside and couldn’t store it properly in the room due to lack of a fridge. On a hot day, having to travel to the town centre for food meant it got cold by the time we returned,and not having a microwave to heat it up was inconvenient. Having dining options within the property would greatly enhance the guests experience.”

Hotel was good value for money overall. Short 10 minute walk to the centre. Tight parking spaces but we managed to get one! Lovely English breakfast with fresh juices croissants fruit yoghurt etc. 7:30-10am Very friendly staff. Pool area and gardens were lovely, some of the tables needed to be renewed as they had sharp edges. Bed was comfortable with a good mattress and good quality pillows. Tea and coffee replenished daily along with daily room cleaning. Room was super hot due to it being 30 degrees, however window could only open 1 inch which meant the air flow was quite poor. Overall a nice old fashioned style English hotel with nice facilities comfy beds and friendly staff.

One improvement could be the bar selection. The gardens are lovely to sit in on an evening but the beer selection was fairly limited, this could be easily resolved! We ended up going to the local convenience store!

Great location for exploring Canterbury as you can easily walk to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size (family toom) and beds were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the produce used is good quality, for example, very good sausages and bacon. Im a fussy person when it comes to these types of things, and I was very impressed. My son enjoyed the pool, which was clean and well maintained.

No real issues at all. Just a note that the road traffic noise could bother some people, although there is secondary glazing to help reduce noise. This would only impact if staying at the front of the hotel. It did quieten down, though, so for me, it wasn't a big issue.

Loved the break fast and swimming pool which was the best on the stay off all especially aswell the staff themselves who was very helpful and friendly non stop they always had a really good chat lots

Sadly the let downs was the first bedroom was near the road side which was very difficult too even sleep so had too be moved too another room and better one which again only main let down was it was too hot so had too open the window more especially if ur out all day and come back at night the most

We found the hotel well managed and maintained, the rooms were large and comfortable. Our family room was actually two connected rooms, one with twin beds and one with a king size bed. The single room had a lovely four poster bed. We were served a generous breakfast, and both English and Continental options were available; in addition, the hotel has a very nice indoor pool, and is walking distance to the town centre. We received a parking fine in error for keeping the car in the hotel’s car park and the staff was very prompt and helpful in resolving the problem for us.

The hotel is well kept and spotless, but the interiors are starting to appear a bit dated.

There were quite a number of different people on reception during my stay, and all were very helpful and pleasant. Only breakfast was served from a meal point of view. The breakfast is a self serve warm meal, and the person overlooking it, is very obliging and attentive. In the time scale 9am to 10am there are fewer guests around, or were when I was there, and there is a lot of waste after breakfast, and a fresh breakfast to order would probably be less wasteful, and a lot better quality for the guest. Free parking is offered to guests staying at the hotel, but not enough for all guests if the hotel is full. Free parking in Canterbury is well worth having, as the hotel is fairly close to the city centre. Some rooms are available on the ground floor (although there are some steps which have to be navigated whichever room you are in), but request such a room if you need one, as there are no lifts.

Lack of information in rooms. It would be helpful if information was given to recommended places to eat, of different types of places to eat, or places to buy food. Housekeeping staff were not that helpful (certainly not all of them), and on one day that I was staying, I was nearly overlooked altogether. I was given no information that there was a bar in the hotel, or a lounge for guests, when I arrived. I was advised to such facilities, when another member of staff pointed it out to me.
