The property is beautiful. It is located at 20 mins walk from the Canterbury west station. The beds were big and comfortable. The family room we stayed in was very spacious. The breakfast had the light and the cooked option of full English and continental. It was quite tasty. The staff were very helpful and with always a smile to help us out. We asked for an extra fan and they willingly provided it. Also we were welcome to ask for tea coffee from the reception if needed. The restaurant is quite good as well though the service might seem a bit slow. We were in rush though. The carvery is generous too.

You have to opt for room service by letting it be known at reception. I am not sure if the arranging of beds is included in the room service or not, our beds were not arranged. Though the towels were sorted out and we have fresh beverages.

The staff are universally excellent, - interested, lively, time to talk and very helpful, nothing too much trouble. The food offer was good and fairly broad, tried and tested rather than adventurous. It was nicely presented and no troublesome music in the restaurant areas. Our room, cosy rather than large, included an electric fan which, as it we visited in a heat wave, we much appreciated. Surprisingly, given the location at a junction of busy roads, the Hotel itself was very quiet, especially in our room and we much appreciated the seating in the flower garden at the rear. Free parking in Canterbury is a marvellous asset, especially since it is easy to walk into the City or to catch a bus.

We were a little surprised to learn that although we could have our room serviced every day, this would only be done at our request. However, our requests were met with promptly and effectively. The only negative was that the shower didn't have anywhere to put toiletries.

The hotel is quite centrally located, making it easy to walk around Canterbury and visit the sites. It has a free parking area at the back, which is helpful. The receptionist (a South African lady), was extremely helpful, guiding us on how to get around. The room was a good size, perhaps because they gave us a triple room (there was an extra single bed in the room, which we used to keep our luggage on it), even though we had booked a double.

There was a hair stuck to a tile in the shower, which we noticed when we arrived. It was not close to where we showered so we could ignore it, but it did make one wonder how thoroughly rooms are cleaned between guests. However, everything else looked clean. I was a bit disappointed about the free coffee at breakfast, which is the instant kind. I do not like instant coffee, so had to pay extra (more than GBP2.50 each) for machine-made americanos.

The hotel is loverly, the staff are nice. Its about 20 min walk from the centre of town. Highlight of the room was the extra tea making facilities in the form of hot chocolate and biscuits. The beds are comfy, its reasonably comfy. Restaurant downstairs that is a carvery and grill. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Only downside I would say is in the bathroom. No liquid soap dispenser only a bar of soap offered which I really don't like. Not much in the way of shower freebies apart from one bottle of something but I bought my own. I feel chain hotels like travelodge, hoilday inn offer more in this regard with dispensers on the wall. The shower was a bit out dated and the most infuriating thing which I hate in hotels is no shelf in the shower cubicle to put your toiletries while your showering. Apart from that a very pleasant stay and I have really loved it and I would most definitely stay again.

I've never been more happy to leave a review than for this place. A proper hotel the likes of which you seldom get in this day and age. Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, sturdy beds, pleasant shower, hot chocolate and plenty of teabags, milk and sugar in the room, topped off with a hearty cooked to order breakfast. Put frankly, if this hotel is profitable, then the vast majority of others have zero excuse for the standards they've let slip for decades now. Being away from home on business is always miserable but this hotel took the edge of it just a little, so a big thanks from me.

WiFi was virtually unusable We were on third floor (room 332) and the hotel kept diasppearing from the list of available hubs and would often not reappear. Probably need some boosters. I was woken on Wednesday 16th at 4:30am by the very loud sound of someone pouring glass recycling into another container. Couldn’t get back to sleep so only got 3 or so hours sleep that night when hadn’t been sleeping well anyway. Please could the hotel investigate this so others don’t have same problem.

This is a real gem of a hotel in a great location with fantastic staff and facilities. Everyone was friendly, helpful, informative and demonstrated genuine care for their clientele, their comfort and enjoyment of their stay. The room was comfortable and had everything guests might need for a pleasant stay. The breakfast buffet offered both continental or full English breakfast or a combination of both. The English breakfast was freshly cooked to the guest's requirements - totally delicious! Lovely, comfy beds too. Everything worked!

The only thing I felt our room lacked was some hooks to hang our coats/bags on, or to hang clothes in the bathroom - a minor observation....

The reception staff are very attentive and always ready to help. Big shout out to the House Team, both the room and the communal areas were kept spotless. The rooms are just like any other hotel rooms but the beds are most comfy, excellent night's sleep The location is brilliant, just a 15 minute walk and your at the West Gate Tower with all the shops and of course the Cathedral, well worth the visit. Overall a great stay and would seriously consider staying here again.

The restaurant is not just for hotel guests, it's open to the public and Sunday is was heaving, so book your table if your staying over the weekend.

The hotel was a bit different at first from the outside, but we walked in, and it was lovely. We turned up 2 hours earlier and spoke to tara on reception she was very welcoming and lovely. Tony, the manager, had our room ready. It was lovely and big, very spacious. the bathroom was lovely and so nicely decorated. The food in the restaurant was amazing and was very tasty, breakfast was lovely, so many different options. Would 100% recommend coming back to this hotel not far from the town, just one walk straight down the road.

Hotel was clean ,slightly old fashioned in its decoration, how ever the staff were very friendly helpful . Room service on request .. ( I would have liked herbal teas in the room ) I’m sure if I had asked they would have obliged . All food we had was good and plentiful. One of our rooms over hung the kitchen and the cooking smell was very strong Just a 20 minuet walk into town through a beautiful park . Taxi just under £8 for those who have had a long day
