Stayed for 1 night at the hotel , staff were very friendly and helpful showed us up to our room and made sure it was ok for us , the room was standard size of a small double room but it was clean the bedding was nice and fresh and towels were provided. There was a TV with internet and netflix available, small kettle with tea and coffee provided, Bathroom was basic but clean few small amenities were provided shampoo/ shower gel . If you're looking for a basic room to stay it is definitely worth the money, no food options available but there are plenty of small cafes on the main street and a Tesco close by

It was a perfectly good place to stay for the night. I have to say that my room was spotless and everything in the rest of the hotel was very clean. It’s an old style hotel which would usually be run by a family but has been reconfigured to a no-frills room only place with minimal staff.

It is a little tired but perfectly serviceable. The bathroom needed an update but everything was superbly clean.

We arrived later than intended. Staff stayed around until we arrived and showed us to our room - can’t remember his name but he was lovely. The room was comfortable and cosy. The bed was really comfy. Other reviews have reported the rooms being unclean - certainly not the case for us. The room was very clean and the towels and bedding were fresh and clean.

We have nothing to complain about.

Inside it was nice despite being run by a staff of one. All information regarding access was very detailed despite it was all DIY. Car parking was OK

No food Windows don’t shut properly, especially the ones fronting the main road Car parking in a garage where pigeons roost / live Price for one high but it is the same for 2 sharing when it becomes value for money

Good value. Clean. Fresh decor in the rooms. Comfortable bed. Good quality bed linen and towels. Good shower. It's an old building but don't be totally put off by the outside and your views of the ground floor and it doesn't smell stale indoors. No smoking probably helps. Staff were friendly and helpful. You get what you pay for. It is cheap accommodation in this area.

Very accommodating hotel! My partner and I required a very early check in due to him running the Scotland 100 ultra marathon, and the hotel obliged and really helped us out. Couldn’t fault a thing and so appreciative of the kindness we received. Thank you!!!

Big open space on arrival in hotel Liam was very jolly and friendly the room was spacious had a good heater in both room and bathroom bed was really clean and comfortable lots of channels on tv would recommend a stay in this hotel

Nothing would like to suggest a coat hanger on wall as nowhere to hang coats

Clean and tidy. Small and basic room but ideal as I just needed a good nights sleep before a big cycling event (The Gralloch) the next day. Keys kept in a key safe at the door. Although landlord was actually there so just got keys from him.

Fantastic stay in the Douglas Arms hotel. The couple running the hotel were friendly and welcoming and didn’t hesitate to make sure our stay was comfortable. Would 100% recommend! Even had a jacuzzi in the bathroom as a surprise!

I had a great stay at the hotel while I enjoyed the city. It was clean. The staff was great. The room was comfortable and I’ll definitely be back again.

Everything was perfect. There’s nothing I didn’t like.
