We arrived on a sunshine day. We ordered lunch, which was very tasty. The staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. We finished our drinks outdoors in the beer garden, by the river Fleet. It was picturesque, idyllic and charming. We enjoyed our time outdoors. Check in went smoothly. We continued to sit outdoors, soaking in the rays and enjoying the wildlife. Dinner was pre-booked. It was suggested that we could book a few starters and a main meal, as we were still satisfied from lunchtime. We chose seafood dishes. They were delicious! Our wine was selected well. The desserts did not disappoint. The staff were fantastic. We chilled in the lounge, before retiring. Breakfast was satisfying. It set us up for our next journey. We visited The Ship Inn at Easter time. After enjoying a late lunch, we said that we hoped to visit the hotel for an overnight stay. The opportunity arose. We are so pleased we did. We hope to visit again.

We were disappointed with the shower. It was an overhead shower, with no hand held shower combo.

We had a lovely room and bathroom was great. Beautiful bathroom and it was lovely and warm with great linen and towels. The tea and coffee facility were restocked daily which was a lovely touch. We had a lovely meal on our first night, although it would have been good to have been told in advance that the restaurant was closing after our first night.

This hotel wasn't what I could call "boutique". The public areas were fairly plainly decorated and not very special for what you might term "boutique". The restaurant was also sparse in decor and atmosphere though food great and lovely staff. Bring a extension lead, hardly any plugs!!

It had a lovely local feel, traditional, but modern dining room, very clean, nice touches in room. The staff were exceptional. Sarah and Alina, correspondence excellent. Fabulous welcome at breakfast and excellent breakfast.

Room very small with vaulted roof, husband 6’ 2 so bumped his head on several occasions, would not have stayed longer than one night in that room which is a pity as it was spotless. No fridge, as a frequent traveller…. this is not good! Even a small mini fridge would have been ideal, a real shame.

This is a gem of a hotel in a great location .The staff are super friendly and super helpful nothing was too much trouble . The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both meals were very tasty ,good portion size and well presented .The service overall was excellent .

If I had to be picky I would say the reception and hallway to the bedrooms were a little cold 🥶. Tea and coffee making items were in the room along with biscuits again if being picky small bottles of water would have been nice.

Spacious bedroom and bathroom, I was in the loft room which was lovely. They do the little things - having selection of teabags, a decent size mug to make your drink in and also some Scrumptious biscuits to look forward to with your drink in your room. My room was lovely and clean, and the bed was so comfortable to sleep in. The shower comes with different options on the shower head which was lovely option to have. They provided me a list of taxi numbers so I could book to attend a wedding being held in area. They were kind enough to provide a lunch bag for me to take on my last day abs day and on the day of my friends wedding. They were kind enough to do breakfast Earlier for me on day I was going as they were aware I was travelling early. Breakfast was lovely, great selection and would highly recommend trying the local jam they serve there. I had a meal on the day arrived which was good. All the staff were lovely and friendly - travelling alone can be difficult and they were lovely to make me feel welcome. I have severe dyslexia and struggle with anxiety and they were lovely to help me with any information/directions etc Thanks so much again

The room we stayed in at this hotel exceeded my expectations it appeared spacious and recently refurbished and even had a coffee pod machine so was more luxurious than our usual choices and was well worth paying a bit more for. The restaurant had good quality and value for money meals with very friendly service. The location is excellent at the heart of a village which has a lot of redeeming features. I would love to return here one day.

This place was a little stunner, the decor was fantastic, the staff were amazing and helpful. Our bedroom had a beautiful big bath 🛁 😍. The log fire in the lounge was so cosey on a cold night. The food and breakfast were excellent, our stay here was fantastic. Only here for one night and wish we had stayed longer, definitely recommend staying here, 5 stars all round for everything. Thankyou to all the staff who made us more than welcome 😊

Everything was fab

The place itself was lovely. Clean, warm, lovely interior design, and felt inviting. The owners and staff went over and beyond in making sure I had everything I needed. My room was perfect. The food was just lovely. My whole experience was just wonderful and I can’t think of anything that would have made it better. I can’t wait to visit again.

Absolutely nothing.

The location was very good , we did not have the breakfast but had an evening meal both days which was excellent. The staff in the restaurant could not be more helpful.

I know most hotels accommodate dogs these days and I have nothing against dogs but not in the restaurant. The smell of one dog in the stairway was awful, owners fault .
