The room was cosy and beautiful, and very clean. The aspect meant the sun shone in beautifully through the ceiling window and the bathtub in the room was an excellent addition. The walk-in shower was excellent in both space and power. And the inclusion of the bathrobes were a fantastic bonus addition. An all round excellent setting. We ate in the bar both evenings and the service and food were excellent, as was the included breakfast. Perfect setting with stunning coastal walls on the doorstep.

Not criticisms as such, more suggestions. It was a little cold in the bar in the evenings and it would’ve been perfect if the fire had been on both for the heat and the aesthetic. A full length mirror in the room would be a great addition as would an additional light in the bathroom in order to make it easier to apply makeup, as it was quite dark and the placement of the down lighters in the bathroom made it difficult ultimately to see if it was blended properly etc.

The quality and the finish to the hut was great. It felt authentic but with added charm and amenities. The bathroom was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was the perfect temperature. Another nice perk was the private parking space.

The service at breakfast was very slow due to there only being one member of staff on service duty. My order was altered twice before I received it and was nowhere near to what I originally expected and wasn’t nice at all. I didn’t complain as I already felt sorry for the staff member. There was a lot of noise from the kitchen area when we were in our room. This was mainly bins clattering in the strong winds, which is understandable but it was also caused by gates clashing regularly, delivery vehicles and fans or generators kicking in. There were no guides on how to get the best out of the log burner and, from a useless “barbecuer” like myself I used up the 4 fire lighters within 20 mins then gave up.

Breakfasts were very good. I had smoke salmon & scrambled egg. Wife had full English. Shower & towels very good. Bar open all day & great selection of drinks(good draught beer options). Complimentary chocolate bars was a nice touch.

Car Park is a nearby free CP 200yd from hotel. Dropped wife n luggage at door before returning to CP. Please carry a torch, if parking up after dark. The Hotel is rural without any street lighting. My phone battery was flat & my walk in the dark was nervy. Could not see my feet (Im not that fat either). Bar prices are London prices. Gin was £6.25/25ml. Tonic was £3.35/bottle. One pint ale & large G&T was over £20. Whisky(blend) was £3.65.

Staff are the hotel's greatest asset. Everyone was helpful and pleasant, keen to get things right for guests. We had dinner for the first night and again on our third night. The food was very good with a menu that was varied. We enjoyed the breakfasts as well.

Our room looked lovely and the bed was comfortable. There is clearly an ongoing problem with drainage in the bathroom (I saw comments on a previous review) and when we reported it a member of staff dealt with it promptly. The weather was very hot and, the ventilation was poor. The air conditioning comes on automatically at some point but there is no way of switching it on in the room, though there is a fan provided which gives a little relief. There are French windows and a balconette but the doors are sealed. I can see that this is a safety issue but better ventilation would make guest more comfortable.

Lovely room overlooking fields at the back. Comfortable bed. Gorgeous free standing bath. Good breakfast the next morning.

Strange smell in the bedroom. Cooking smell. Service at evening meal a little disappointing. Booked table and wanted to sit in restaurant but were given table in the bar area which was cold and had no atmosphere. Saw there were empty tables in restaurant and asked to move but told we couldn't as fully booked! The tables in the restaurant remained empty for the rest of the time we were there so not sure if their reasoning.

A fabulous room, very well decorated & appointed. Spacious & clean with quality furnishings. The food was very nice - the evening meal and the breakfast.

The car park is very small, I felt I was actually told off in the morning for parking my car where I did, I was further told it was in the way of deliveries and bin collections.......... this was the very same spot I was told to park in by them, the evening before when we arrived there.

Good afternoon Would you be able to pass on a massive thank you to your excellent staff from last night & this morning for our breakfast. Especially with myself having coeliac & needing gluten free requirements for the food 🥹 I went for the fish & chips & my wife had the steak frites both were excellent thank you. Also for accommodating us to try to be away from other guests with me having chemo treatment & needing to try & stay isolated. We stayed in the Coquet room & will highly recommend to everyone. We will also be back 🙌 Thanks again Mr & Mrs Henderson

Great little bolthole in Northumberland. Very comfortable room which didn't feel as if it was above a pub and was pure escapism. Nice little touches like chocolate and shortbread which were replenished daily. Great breakfast choices and made with quality local produce.

The restaurant was disappointing - overpriced; and staff whilst friendly were young and not well trained in service etiquette. Accepting The Joiners is dog friendly very happy to see in the bar did not appreciate the volume of hounds in the restaurant whilst eating! It somewhat spoilt the ambiance and occasion for us.

The room was spacious and clean, bed comfy and lovely cosmetics. Shower and bath were great and big enough. Also coffee pod machine was a nice added touch. Liked the decor and set up of the room and the pub. The food was really good, had fish and chips gluten free and this was the best we have had anywhere. Staff friendly and helpful too were working hard to keep the area clean a d breakfast was excellent.

The parking was a little inconvenient but only as it was raining heavily!

The shepherds hut was lovely and cosy. The log burner was an additional treat and the staff turned up the temperature of our hot tub which was great. The food at the joiners arms was lovely with a great variety

The shepherds hut was right next to the pub so we were woken by bottles being emptied into the bin at night and then the bin men at 7am the next morning. It wouldn’t stop us staying there though.
