Was an absolute delight from start to finish! Beautiful breakfast!!! We stayed in the farmhouse rooms. Lovely location and quite peaceful oven though there seemed to be a wedding. Everything is well done and the staff were lovely.

One aspect was the bath, booked this room specifically as it has a bath but in my eyes was quite dangerous. The clever layout of the room means the bath is tucked away is under the pitch of the roof. Im 6'2 I was having to negotiate the wet bath and the roof when getting in with nothing to hold on to and ended up falling. Whilst hand rails aren't aesthetically pleasing I think they should be considered. luckily I only came away a decent bruise but it could have been worse.....

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. It was an over night birthday getaway. We stayed in the farmers cottage with the outdoor hot tub, and had really lovely views of the lake and the North Sea in the distance. The room is beautifully decorated with a large attached bathroom. There is so much attention to detail, the hotel really has thought of everything. Checkin was a breeze and all of the staff were absolutely wonderful. We ate at the restaurant for lunch and evening meal and the food was incredible. Everything was fresh, good portion sizes and service was amazing. It’s definitely on our top list of hotels to revisit.

There was nothing we didn’t like and will definitely be coming back. Have already highly recommended on socials and with friends and family.

The hotel is gorgeous and has a quirky design with beautifully decorated rooms. We stayed in the Tempus Junior Suite, which exceeded our expectations. The staff were very attentive, and the food served at the restaurant for dinner, breakfast, and the wedding was exceptional.

It's hard to find faults with this hotel. However, the iron in our room did not have a steam function, making it very difficult to press our garments. The quality of the iron was poor. We had to make a trip into Alnwick to buy a steam iron so we could re-press our wedding clothes, which had become creased during travel. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was not high speed in our opinion, and the book in our room had the incorrect password written inside. While it is a minor point, a hotel charging £350 per night should get these details right. None of the above would stop us staying at the hotel again though.

A brand new and very attractive hotel called The Tempus built to the highest standards, separate from the original Charlton Hall. Large and very comfortable ground-floor room and bathroom, opening out onto the patio and terrace with views to beautiful open country. Excellent sophisticated cuisine and friendly staff. Dog-friendly, with welcome biscuits provided! Location not far from the sea. Very good value.

Lack of bath in the bathroom despite lots of space. Over-complicated 'touch' lightswitches, hard to see in the dark. Still a lot of building work in progress, with some associated noise. Our satnav couldn't find the hotel. Directions are needed from Booking.com and/or the hotel saying that the hotel address of Chathill is misleading; the driveway into the estate grounds is indicated by a sign on the A1 near the beginning of a short stretch of dual carriageway.

From arriving at the Tempus the whole customer service was second to none. The guy who checked us in was super friendly and welcoming and even accompanied us to the room to show us how the lights and functions worked.The estate has ample parking, well sign posted and easy to locate on the sat nav. We were attending a nearby Wedding at Ellingham Hall and switched to this accommodation quite last minute as the place really caught our eye! The whole setting and surrounding is peaceful and stunning, the decor is just gorgeous throughout. We did stay mid week so likely quieter, or so we thought however breakfast told us otherwise and we loved the fact that this wasn't made apparent. The gentleman who seated us at breakfast was absolutely lovely and nothing was a problem, the breakfast has a granola station, fresh fruit compotes and delicious yoghurts. Fresh pastries, cereals and all the usual choices. Every staff member we encountered was super helpful. We never got a chance to try the bar or evening food during our stay but I have no doubt it will be lovely. The hotel has a lovely terrace to over look a water feature and nature for miles. We had a room upgrade thanks to my booking.com status to pole barn 3, the barns are a decent sized, beautifully decorated, very quiet and comfortable beds with beautifully designed and spacious bathroom. We will definitely come back and recommend the property to others.

The tables and chairs at the front of the pole barns looked a little worn and they were a little unstable - very small feedback, I guess due to the gravel underneath - very minor.

The grounds. Nice to have a hotel with history that isn’t old fashioned. Mix of old and new really worked for mother and 18 year old daughter. Very clean. Had cocktails, dinner, sat in the sun listening to the live music and had a wee walk round the grounds in the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was lovely: good selection.

It was very warm at night - couldn’t sleep. Couldn’t open the windows for the nesting birds. Not a typical problem I imagine as it was a particularly hot day. Tried to run a cool bath but the water drained immediately away. Maybe an offer of an air conditioning tower or fan would have been nice. It didn’t detract from our stay though - we loved it and would recommend it.

Wife is amputee with limb found the gravel flicked everywhere by cars in the car park a problem when attending meals.night lights back to pole barn 2 not working also shower water floods into bedroom had to use rolled up towel to stop it.. Bought our own seat for shower as wife can’t stand on one leg. Maybe think of providing one, crack in sink over tightened plug. Stayed three times before always love the area ,food,staff and comfort just thought this time the attention to detail and maintenance was slacking a bit , hope you find this as good feedback , we really do enjoy your complex.

Our Charlotte junior suite in the old hall was beautiful, but due to an issue with the door lock we were given an upgrade to a room in the Tempus. Many thanks to your professional team, especially Amy who gave us complimentary drinks and the best boutique suite in the hotel to compensate us for our troubles. This hotel is true luxury and both the food and accommodation are exceptional quality, compliments to the hospitality team for the quality of the food, having worked in corporate dining for 30 years this was recognised. We hope to visit again one day and experience one of your other rooms.

We came here on the recommendation of a friend. An amazing place, upmarket quirky decor with art deco touches. The accommodation is in several parts of the estate, we stayed in the farmhouse building just over the way from the bar & restaurant area. The room & ensuite were immaculate & very well furnished with quality toiletries in the bathroom and hospitality tray in the bedroom, even a small fridge with bottled water. Excellent choice of drinks & cocktails served by a lovely friendly young barman. Several beers & lagers on tap. Plenty of cozy seating nooks to settle into to enjoy pre dinner drinks. The restaurant menu had plenty of choice and the food was top quality. My hubby had a haggis Scotch egg starter followed by a fish pie main. I skipped a starter and opted for the halibut with bombay cauliflower & madras sauce. For dessert we shared the chocolate bomb and a panacotta. All delicious. All of the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Can highly recommend and we will be back.

Decor was immense. The bath in the room was a lovely touch. we both fit into it. the bed was so comfy. the staff were really helpful and approachable. Told them it was my girlfriend's birthday, they left a card and a little treat for her when we arrived. it's not just a hotel, it's an experience the appreciate. tea and coffee in the room and a fridge with bottled water provided. the room size was huge. different mood settings for the lights.

Bar snacks, no crisps or nuts available to purchase. The bar snacks on the cocktails menu are unavailable when the evening meal is in place.
