A good sized room, free parking near the castle, in the centre of alnwick and handy to have a restaurant downstairs. The bed was very comfortable, a fan provided for the warm nights and the bathroom was lovely. Great for the kids and for exploring.

I didn't realize on booking the payment would be taken straight away. I did book a more expensive room to have the option of paying on check in, but there was a clause with the quadruple room that payment is taken straight away. Not sure why they had the option then to book at 0 but then took payment straight away. The room was also not sound proof as we could hear a family next door with a small baby and banging of doors and walking about.

The décor throughout was just my taste … very quirky…. Loved our room and bathroom… we stayed in The Meeting Room.

The breakfast …. The quality of produce and presentation was fabulous but it was cold …. I assumed that by having to pre order the night before the service was going to be exceptional but it wasn’t …. 1 member of staff to serve all guests was not adequate and I’m not sure how long our cooked breakfast had sat on the pass but I’m assuming a good while as nothing was even warm !!

Our experience was truly remarkable. The hotel, a stunning historical structure, boasts numerous remarkable attributes. The restaurant's cuisine is of the utmost quality, earning a perfect score of 10/10, and the portion sizes are exceptionally generous. Nice and quiet little place, not really a hotel more like a pub with rooms. Staff is great and the food is exceptional with a nice selection of beers. It's just a few steps away from the castle. It was very clean and we liked the decor.

Not really good value for money considering it's only 3 star. The bed was too soft in my opinion and the bedroom was hot.

The location was perfect, on the main high street with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars around. Alnwick Castle was also in walking distance. The breakfast included was lovely, good selection of options and definitely would recommend the pastries. Staff were friendly and very hospitable!

Lovely room and facilities. Was a bit noisy in the room from the street and bar below, especially noticeable if bathroom door was open or in the bathroom.

The Crux was Absolutely spotless, so clean, staff amazing. The bedroom we were in was The Dorm and it was beautiful.

Only thing was booking.com are advertising that the hotel gives you free wine/ champagne in your room, we found this wasn’t the case and the member of staff we spoke to didn’t even know what we were talking about. One thing the hotel should do is take out the welcome pack that you can get the Harry Potter movies for free as this isn’t the case.

The room and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice, and the location was great. This place is located steps away from the castle and has a wonderful vibe to it. It really gives Harry Potter and the downstairs restaurant/bar really fed into the Harry Potter theme.

Other than the castle, there is not much to do in the town, so I'm happy we decided to stay only one night here. The price was pretty high for the town, but it was awesome one time experience.

Super quirky, great location, breakfast was delicious too. The room was great, the bed was comfy. Great stop for Harry Potter fans!

Not much (if any) soundproofing between rooms so we were woken up before 6am by the people in the room next to ours watching TV, talking, and laughing. I don't know if they were speaking really loudly or not but we could hear every word and heard everything on their TV!

The breakfast and service provided were exceptional. The room had a stunning appearance and was impeccably clean. The staff exhibited a high level of friendliness and professionalism, and the Welcome booklet in the room proved to be quite useful. The TV was of a generous size, and the lighting options were diverse, catering to various moods and preferences. The check-in and check-out process was seamless.

While I understand that it's an old building, it's worth noting that the soundproofing is quite poor. Consequently, you can hear every noise emanating from the nearest room. While the mattress was excellent, unfortunately, the bed frame, although visually appealing, produces loud squeaks with every movement throughout the night. While using the shower, the noise generated by the extractor fan resembled that of a powerful steam engine.

No.complaimts the crux is of a very high standard and we enjoyed the 2 big rooms wew booked for my family's stay . We had the Meeting room and the Dorm for 5 of us to split up into it was perfect
