The bedroom was fab, the bathroom marvellous. The young staff were helpful and welcoming. The cleanliness faultless. The bed comfortable. The decor was a mixture of faux and real which somehow worked well. The bath was vast and filled quickly. The windows opened to let in fresh air - a much appreciated novelty in hotel rooms nowadays.

Tiny imperfection but a dressing table with stool would be a good addition to the room. They no longer offer free tickets to the castle and the car park is not free - this should be amended in their new marketing literatures. Excessively frugal hospitality pack, given the opulence of the room, with 2 sachets sugar, 2 sachets milk and a very limited amount of tea/coffee. Take note..the towel rail in the bathroom is scalding hot so don't grab on to it!

Our 4th time staying 3 nights over New Year. We have returned because of the friendliness of the staff, the ideal location and value for money. It really is a quirky little place. Breakfast is great and fills you up for the day. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The housekeeping staff are lovely as are the breakfast and bar staff. Parking is available for free just around the corner. It is well situated for all the town has to offer. Have really enjoyed our time in Alnwick.

Nothing to actually dislike about the Dirty Bottles or Alnwick. We will be going to another place in Northumberland next New Year as the prices have risen considerably and no discount available for returning guests of 5 years which was slightly disappointing.

Room was nicely appointed and, although we looked out onto a road, it was very quiet. We had dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed this. The menu choice was excellent and the food we chose was very good. Parking was in a local free car park about 2 minutes from the pub, easy to find and no distance at all to walk to and from.

Breakfast is not served until 9am which, for us, was too late as we had wanted to leave early the morning after our stay. We may have missed this on the website but I still can't see anything to tell people this. As it was a weekday, if I had been staying on business, I would have found a 9am breakfast unsatisfactory. I think it would be helpful if the breakfast time was clearly stated on the website and, if that is the time that works for the Hotel, they might want to consider whether an alternative should be offered? Pastries and a hot drink to take away or back to the room, perhaps?

Fantastic location and great historic pub made very stylish and comfortable. Very pleasant young staff and delicious food both for breakfast and dinner. The Bottles is a great centrally located spot, ten steps away from Alnwick Castle and gardens. Free parking one street away so travelling with bags is not a problem.

A small thing: they have a price per measure for glasses of Prosecco and it’s 125ml or a bottle. That’s ok but the bar staff have to measure it out in a silver shot measure which seems not only petty but ruins the bubbles with all the extra pouring. That’s why people order Prosecco, for the bubbles. It would be much better to pour out a decent glass even if they charge a bit more for it and keep people happy. Very sad when huge beers were served overflowing over the edges of the glasses!

The staff were brilliant all the way through our stay, really friendly, helpful and informative. The food at breakfast was really tasty and there was more than enough to leave us full for the rest of the day. The room was very comfortable, clean and very spacious. The location is perfect, it took us 5 minutes to walk to the gardens and the Christmas market was even closer.

As we were on first floor we could hear the noise from the bar and the street. However, this did stop when the bar closed and really wasn’t that bad.

The room was lovely, very clean with a big comfy bed.Bathroom was spotless and very luxurious with a roll top bath. We were in Alnwick for a wedding and having the key to the 'back door' to return at any time in the evening was great. It meant we didn't have to worry about getting back before the reception closed.

Hadn't realised that they were also the Hallow and Crux with Harry Potter themed rooms! We would have booked one of those rooms had we known! 😆 our fault for not researching properly. Our room was at the very top of the building up several steep flights of stairs, there was no lift. Wasn't an issue for us but other people may struggle.

Fantastic location, right in the middle of town and only a few minutes walk to the castle. There is no parking at the hotel but free parking can be found within a 5 minute walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have an evening meal at the restaurant but the breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to choose from. The room was a good size and has everything you need for a short break. We got a peaceful night sleep but the bed could of been a bit more comfortable, however it was fine for a nights stay.

No complaints.

The location was perfect for visiting Alnwick. The room was lovely and clean and spacious. Loved the free toiletries but a body moisturiser would have been champion. The food was really good, generous portions and not too pricey. The full brekkie was one of the best I've had. Perfect bacon, sausage & black.pudding from a local butchers. Slept really well, bed was so comfy and the pillows were perfect.

Wanted to use the beautiful roll top bath but the water was very unpredictable and not warm enough. Strange because the water from the sink tap and shower was absolutely spot on. Also the record player in the room didn't work. Would have liked an earlier breakfast start time, say from 8am instead of 9am. Despite this, I would return in a heartbeat.

Beautifully decorated, the room was very well appointed with a big bathroom, big fluffy towels and dressing gowns. The location near to the castle was very convenient with free parking nearby.

There's a beach bar next door which was very loud up until about midnight which we could hear from the room. A better coffee machine (ie nespresso not dolce gusto) and more luxurious biscuits would have been more in keeping with the room price. Food in the restaurant is very much pub food rather than fine dining.

Rooms are lovely, toiletries, tea, coffee, bottled water, biscuits in room. Nice atmosphere downstairs, gets busy, restaurant needs booking. Breakfast great, good choice and well presented. Coffee always luke warm and far too strong so had tea.

Coffee machine in room only provides luke warm coffee, would be better with coffee satchets and using the kettle. The evening meal was well presented but all the meat was dry and overcooked. Free passes available for Alnwick gardens with a £10 deposit but when went to hand them back the staff were sat chatting with the door locked, knocked on the door and windows waving the passes but they looked at us and laughed, i had to phone to get someone to open the door, rude and unprofessional.
