Room spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Facilities in room excellent. Breakfast very good. . Fresh orange juice was exactly that. Made with freshly sqeezed oranges! Good choice of cereals and hot food and rotating toaster that actually toasted the bread. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would be happy to recommend this hotel. We will definitely pay a return visit.

We had an accessible room but disappointed that the shower was over the bath! It made having a shower very difficult for both my husband and I because of our mobility problems. Surely an accessible room should have either a wet room or a walk in shower.

Location is perfect for sightseeing around this part of the Northumberland Coast. Within easy driving distance of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh & Amble, plus of course Alnwick Castle & gardens. Rooms extremely large & comfortable especially the bed & if you opt out of room servicing, you get 2 free drinks at the bar. Breakfast selection is pretty good with a real fresh orange juice machine. Ask if you want your eggs cooked in a different way to fried. Get down early or slightly chaotic.

Apart from a McDonald’s & Greggs there aren’t any fast food places near the hotel. You need parking discs to park in the centre of Alnwick so ask at reception or you will have problems trying to eat in town. We ended up eating at the hotel restaurant which varied in quality each night.

lovely location and lovely building easy to find, not far from A1 close to local amenities little nose from busy A1 but mostly quiet surroundings, peaceful staff very friendly plenty of parking though disabled could be better marked

unable to book accessible room we took a chance on a room with a shower only. unfortunately this proved to be difficult as my husband has mobility issues and there was nothing in the shower for him to hold on to. we asked staff if there was a stool he could use in the shower but there wasn't and no suggestion from staff as to how we might manage, other than to report it on this review. in the end he was unable to shower for the 3 nights we stayed. the shower head would not stay in position so showering was difficult anyway. the shower gel dispenser was placed so that it was difficult to get and get out. Other than this we had a lovely stay

The room was a good size, lovely views from the window, and the necessary facilities. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good, a good buffet with plenty of choice and regularly filled up. The offer of staying green by giving vouchers for a drink instead of daily room service was a good idea. On a 3 stay we were happy to keep the tidy and make the bed as we do at home.

The initial cleaning of the room when we first arrived was not quite up to what I think was their standard, a couple of grubby marks in the bathroom. But otherwise good.

Location, bedrooms and the dining/ bar area

Check in was on line in the Reception and that includes producing your own room keys without any human interaction. If you didn’t eat or drink in the bar area you may not speak to or have contact with any member of staff through out your stay which seems a little strange and impersonal.Having said all that the system seems to work perfectly and efficiently. We especially liked the fact that if you didn’t want your room cleaning you could redeem a voucher and have a free drink on the house instead ! without any real inconvenience as you could top up items for your room by just asking at the bar. Winner winner !

Nice, large clean rooms. Excellent staff. Dining pub forming part of the inn gave a wide choice of standard and more locally themed fare at acceptable prices. Alnwick is an exceptional location both in terms of attractions in the town and as a base for visiting other Northumberland places such as Lindisfarne and Cragside. Inn would also make a good stop.off between Scotland and the South.

The computerised check-in was unfathomable for my party booked through Booking. This was easily resolved when I requested a receptionist from bar staff. The inn is situated next to the A1 in an unattractive commercial area. It would be a long and unattractive walk, over a mile, into town although parking discs can be bought for £1 which enable free town centre parking.

Easy to find. The hotel is located over the road from a BP garage, Greggs, Morrison's and McDonalds which was handy. The staff were nice and friendly. We had a family room on the ground floor which was large with a lot of floor space. The food was very good quality and we were impressed with the breakfast which was full English. They had one of those orange juice machines where you put the oranges in yourself. Very good. Would go back next time we are in Alnwick.

Not really anything negative to say. No room service I guess (we bought drinks at the bar and could take them back to the room, but could not have them brought to the room by staff - fair enough)

Staff very welcoming and efficient. Room very clean and roomy. Bathroom spotless. I liked the option to skip the daily clean in exchange for drinks the night before. The food in the restaurant was nicely varied, with not just the usual run of the mill offerings. Breakfast was really good, with lots of choices. Our stay was comfortable and trouble free. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Can't think.of anything at all. Keep doing what you're doing!

Room was unusually spacious and very comfortable with a super king size bed. Breakfast was a nice buffet with a freshly squeezed orange juice machine which was superb. Many top class hotels don't serve fresh orange juice. A definite highlight!! We found all the staff helpful and well trained even though they were doing several jobs.

The bathroom had a bit of a drain smell. We told the housekeeping staff the next morning who were extremely helpful, immediately apologised and and said the problem would be reported to maintenance straight away. Great to receive such a helpful and proactive response.

A last minute booking due to a cancellation elsewhere. Managed to fit us in - was fairly pricey, but this was much appreciated. Staff were friendly, room was fairly good, but breakfast had one huge plus which was a fresh orange juice machine. This alone made the stay worth it! Location is off the main road from Alnwick - good if you have a car, perhaps not so much if travelling without a car.

Location is not the most inspiring (some open fields on one side and a busy road/petrol station facilities on the other).
