We stayed in Badgers Set, a shepherds hut, so amazing! It was a 3 night break for me and my sister. Very clean, I was surprised at how spacious it was and definitely very different for us. Located close to Bamburgh, Seahouses, and Lindisfarne, which we visited during our stay. The breakfast was included in our stay, and we were able to book a time for our convenience, we did eat twice at The Apple Inn, the food was amazing, and the service was great. We visited the pool at the spa for a swim, at a cost of £8.50 each, a bit expensive but thoroughly worth it, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna plus a lovely pool, immaculate and certainly worth the trip. The whole setting of the village Lucker was stunning, and I would definitely recommend a trip here.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

Room was spacious and very clean. Bar/restaurant was very clean and we had our evening meal on the 1st night which was lovely. Everything served for main was hot and very tasty. Breakfast selection was very good only downside with breakfast was it was under staffed. First day tea and coffee was out to help yourself with milk and sugars out also. Second day it was served to us giving staff extra to do. Staff very polite and friendly but very overworked with the amount of guests to serve but nothing was too much for them it was just wait time was extended due to this. We did ask about an omelette but advised not available. There was fried poached and scrambled on offer but we do like an omlette. Overall would stay again and would recommend.

Extra staff at breakfast Tea and coffee urn and perculator put to use for self service to take some pressure off staff.

Stayed in the shepherds huts - lovely immaculate accommodation (no fridge in the room but fine for an overnight stop). Reception staff were very helpful on arrival. Close drive to Bamburgh

Nothing other than the breakfast at the Apple Inn was included - however there was limited supply of continental breakfast (virtually none for our booked 10:30 sitting). Some of our group had to return their food and was inedible, service staff were slow and curt and not particularly pleasant. Wouldn’t recommend eating there. One other couple had to wait from 10:00 to after 11:00 for their food. Restaurant needs improvement for sure!

We stayed in the Shepherd's Hut (Red Squirrell). Really novel, fun, well-appointed little space. Bed comfortable, bathroom super modern, gas boiler so no issues with hot water, all clean and tidy. We were attending a wedding at Ellingham Hall and this was the top accomodation listed on the invite. It's about 15mins drive through country lanes. Local taxi firm RSM (found and booked online) charged us £35 for a minibus as loads of us were staying at Apple. Brilliant breakfasts both mornings. Lovely staff. Parking fine and Tesla charging point for the car (very quick) just a minute away. Best bit - my button fell off my jacket that I was due to wear for the wedding... the room came with a thread-and-needle kit! Saved me :D

The size of the room did not come as a shock but is obviously small. Two of us getting ready for a wedding was... a challenge! :D And £166 a night isn't exactly a bargain - if I had to spend a "night in" in one of the huts I'd struggle - but there was little other choice nearby.

An absolute gem in gorgeous surroundings. We had a warm welcome which set the tone for our stay. We’re in Braeburn, the room is spacious with a very large ensuite, spotlessly clean with every amenity (toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits, etc). We were shown around the room and it was explained the air conditioner downstairs that makes a small humming noise would turn off later that night (it did - it wasn’t a bother at all and we had the windows wide open). Dinner was delicious, fantastic ‘Northern portions’ with fresh ingredients accompanied by a lovely pint and raspberry gin. Staff in the restaurant were absolutely fabulous, engaging, warm, professional and kept us topped up with drinks. We didn’t wait long for anything. We wandered across the road to enjoy a beautiful evening and a nightcap - the outdoor areas are tremendous. I’d definitely come back to stay longer. It is very dog friendly and many people took advantage of this, I reckon there were 8-10 well-behaved pups inside and more outside.

This isn’t a negative for me, however my travelling companion is less enthused about dogs than I am - it’s all about personal preference and he’d prefer not to have them around while he’s eating dinner (he’s the same at home with our pup!). It certainly didn’t affect his meal, however it is a consideration for others like him. I’m sure the staff would have moved us if it was an issue, they were very accommodating.

We loved the shepherds hut, it’s your own little space with a lovely fenced garden and seat. It’s small but comfortable and the decor is tasteful done. The bed is comfortable with good quality bedding. It has good size bathroom and an excellent shower. There’s no cooking facilities but the breakfast we had at the Apple Inn was really good. The property is in a small quiet village. There’s plenty of parking but not always right next to the hut but only a stones throw away.

Small gripe, would have liked a shelf or cupboard to put our toiletries.

We loved the quirky accommodation. There is a small fenced garden around the hut which is sufficient to contain dogs and two seats to sit outside. Spotlessly clean , good quality toiletries, fluffy towels. A big mirror with a plug close for hair drying. ✔️ Well stocked teas, including herbal, coffees and biscuits. Dog walks close by and pub/restaurant just over the road. Best dog friendly accommodation we’ve been to. Dogs are charged £15 each which is well worth it.

The only thing missing was a door stop. It was very windy and frightened door would smash.

Great location. Helpful staff, knowledgeable about gluten free options for dinner and breakfast. Shower in Hares Shepherds Hut was powerful and spacious. Plenty of tea, coffee in the room. Good sized and comfortable bed.

Skylight in the Shepherds Hut had no blinds so sunlight woke us up early. Would be helpful to have blinds or advise guests to bring eye masks to sleep. Restaurant caters for gluten free diets but no gluten free snacks in the room (plenty of biscuits but no gluten free options)

Perfect location very close proximity to Bamburgh and very handy for anyone visiting Charlton hall , Doxford barnes etc for weddings! Staff were very friendly we stayed in the shepherd huts which were dog friendly and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

No negatives the only downside was there was no mini fridges inside the huts which was no problem we brought our cool box with us! Breakfast was a little delayed and slow but we did book the last slot and we’re still accommodated by the staff so we understood they had clearly been busy and were happy waiting.

Lovely little shepherd huts and an enclosed garden, which is ideal for your dogs as everything is secure. We stayed in the foxes den that looked over the lake. It was so relaxing listening to the birds & water with the window open. Log fire was a lovely touch, I'd recommend taking an extra bag of logs with you to keep the fire topped up. It also has central heating & the shower was also lovely, very powerful & hot! You couldn't really ask for anything more. It was so cosy and has a little TV too. You receive a little welcome basket with tea, coffee, milk & biscuits! We stayed for 2 nights, and breakfast was included at the apple inn on both mornings. They do a lovely full English and we also had Sunday dinner there too, which was nice. Places I'd also recommend visiting are: Beadnell Towers in the little village, 10/15 minute drive away from the apple inn, food was amazing, the restaurant was also very well decorated. The white swan, which was another lovely little pub with a log fire, just a 5 minute drive from the apple inn. The landing at beadnell bay, right on beadnell bay beach was very nice, tipi tents with fires and lovely decor. Beadnell bay beach is a must visit while visiting, the beach is huge!

There wasn't anything we didn't like and we we're aware before we booked there were no kitchen/fridge facilities which was not a problem for us, but we did take a few picky bits & milk and kept these outside as it was extra cold, but I can't imagine you could do this in the summer :)
