Fanatastic place. Full of character and characters. Rooms are fine - very comfortable beds, spacious bathroom. Only downside for me personally was having to climb two flights of narrow / bendy stairs but that speaks to my age and state of disrepair rather than a criticism of the property. Ate in the restaurant on the night we stayed and food and service were excellent. My wife is not English and is not a natural fan of English food but she devoured the fish and chips - which were as good as i have tasted anyway. Being a lifelong fan of beer and bars I loved the bar in the Old Ship. An excellent selection of real beers and spirits ( I enjoyed the 7 Bridges IPA and Jamesons preand post dinner) and sociable staff and customers. Very rarely ( never ) spend time writing reviews but The Old Ship really does deserve it.

The bar area was something special with lots to look at, comfortable seating, the sound of chatter and laughter with no screens, no slot machines and no loud music, excellent. The restaurant area was also comfortable spacious and the food was very good. The staff were very helpful, courteous and attentive. On arrival we had to park outside on double yellow lines and unload, a very helpful member of staff showed my wife to our room and took our bags up with her, whilst I was parking the car, which was very much appreciated. Our room was spacious enough, clean and had a very good sized bathroom.

No parking on site(except for staff and disabled) otherwise you have to go to the local car park (only a short distance away) and pay to park, for us 2 days = an additional £21 which we weren't expecting. Because of the age of the property the stairs to the upper floors are quite tight and restrictive especially when carrying heavy luggage up or down. Our bed was low and not overly comfortable.

We stayed here after doing the MacMillan Mighty Hike. The property was just out the back of the pub. A little cottage overlooking the harbour. It had two good sized bedrooms (super comfy beds which, having walked 26 miles, were very much appreciated). The sitting area was comfortable and had little extras such as ringtons teas and biscuits, a coffee machine with pods and bottles of water. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely perfect. Great selection of continental and a great hot menu choice too all served at your table. Plenty tea/coffee/toast if you wanted it as well. Staff were friendly and welcoming. You have to use the public car park but they don’t charge after a certain time in the evening until 8am. So we actually only has to pay for a short amount of time as check out is 10.30 and it’s not expensive. Overall a great stay we would definitely book again.

The only thing missing really is a fridge which would have been handy to keep drinks cool. The water took a little while to warm up in the shower but the pressure was good and once it warmed up it was fine. Nothing really bad to say.

We loved our room, 6. Cozy with enough room, bench at window, modern shower. This is a historic hotel with great feel about it, I wish we had more time here. We settled into our room after an exciting vigorous boat trip on Billy Shiels to Lindisfarne including 2 hours to explore the island. Highly recommend this trip also. Book online. Great fish and chips at the 🪝 Hook restaurant. Gift shops are really worth a visit.

We were not prepared for the limited bus service as we had a booking in Scotland. Fortunately Kim at the Olde Ship Inn was able to find a taxi to get us back on our way. This may sound like nothing but she actually made many phone calls to find a taxi available on a Friday. Thanks is not enough.

The location was excellent & we enjoyed our short stay. Staff were welcoming & friendly and explain the car parking options clearly. We had two evening meals during our stay & chose to eat outside in the beer garden bar with lovely views on the first night. The fish & chips were excellent & the tartare sauce divine. The second night we both had the Beef Bourguigon on mash with veg this too was delicious. They served an excellent breakfast consisting of a good range of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pastries followed by a great cooked selection. We particularly enjoyed the cosy atmosphere of the bar with its huge array of fishing memorabilia. Bar staff & serving staff were friendly & efficient. We had looked forward to our stay in Seahouses, a quaint but busy & popular fishing village and it didn’t disappoint.

Only thing - would have preferred a slightly bigger bed.

This was the first accommodation I booked on Booking and it turned out to be amazing. I didn’t even realize I had booked a cottage until the receptionist showed it to me upon arrival – I was pleasantly surprised! The cottage was very spacious, and even the kettle had not a single bit of limescale – this attention to detail deserves a full 5 stars. It truly felt like home. The location was also perfect, less than a 5-minute walk to the pier, which we absolutely loved. The front desk staff were very friendly and even reminded us to dress my son warmly for the island trip, so I got him a jecket vest from the second-hand clothes shop, which is 1 minute away,

We were in a little bungalow away from the main hotel which was great apart from the noise you get from next door - seems to back on to a building where they store beer barrels, load dishwashers etc. Literally sounded at times like they were in the room beside you. This did not go on late so wasn't great issue.

At Breakfast time there is a table set up.wirh fruit, yogurts etc. Unfortunately the yogurt, fruit, muesli and pastries were all left uncovered and when I went up there were flies on every one of them - not good!!! The only thing I would have felt safe eating was the boxed cereals or fruit flavoured yogurts that were sealed in pots.

Great atmosphere as it really feels like you are on the ship. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best on our whole trip around Northumberland. Hotel is located just next to the peer which is great if you are coming from the boat trip to Farne Islands.

Room was not too spacious and double bed could be wider but no big deal - part of the “ship” experience. Unfortunately, our room was just near the stairs and you could hear a lot of noise from the hallway. We would also recommend curtains that would block more light (if you would like to sleep a little bit longer).

We have been to Seahouses many times and have frequented the bar so were interested to stay at the hotel. It is full of character, we had a lovely meal in the nice restaurant before decamping to bar which was as always very busy. We love Seahouses and we could see the harbour and sea from our window

We were on second floor - old building so narrow stairs. The sliding door to the landing was next to our room and was quite noisy. Also we had an elderly gentleman next door who we think must have been quite deaf. Walls are quite thin so we could hear him a lot.

The Olde Ship Inn is located close to Seahouses Harbour, so very close to the Northumberland Coastal Path we were walking. It is a very quirky Inn with lots of memorabilia, including a HUGE spun glass sailing ship. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom had ample room for vanity cases etc The food was very good and the breakfasts were HUGE - even if we ordered less, we ended up with a plentiful plateful.

Our room was just above the Cabin Bar and one of the three night we stayed we were kept awake by a raucous group of men enjoying a night out.
