Breakfast - exceptional! Staff - very friendly and helpful. Room - comfortable, with everything necessary, eg TV, hairdryer, Tea/Coffee facilities, etc.. Nice ensuite with wonderful power shower! Food reasonably priced and enjoyable at night. Friendly, jolly atmosphere in bar at night was exceptional - reminds one of happy pub nights 40 years ago. Free car park, too. Altogether great value!

The only slight quibble was the standard double bed in our room, which was small compared to our king-size at home. To be fair, the Bull does have king-size beds and twin beds in other rooms, so my fault for not checking when I booked. However, we slept well in the nice, quiet room.

Stayed overnight on a sunday, our room was warm & cosy & a decent size room, bonus was its also dog friendly, we had everything we needed,plenty of tea coffee sugar milk,plenty of towels, even bottled water, an iron & hairdryer & a basket of toiletries eg shampoo shower gel bubble bath, i had a bath & the water was lovely & hot,the staff were great very helpful & accomadating & the breakfast was spot on 1 of the best we've had in a long time, plenty of cereals orange juice & toast / jams & coffee & tea...would definitely stay agen, ideal location for high st & shops & staff were lovely..😚

The bedroom was very clean, comfortable and fairly well decorated. The bathroom was quite modern and spacious and there was plenty of soap, shampoo etc. There was tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a good supply of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, plus bottled water. Although the room faced onto the main bus station it was quite quiet, surprisingly. I choose to pay for the full English breakfast and was not disappointed. You let the hotel know in advance what you wanted for breakfast which, in my mind, improved the speed of service. In the evening I chose to eat in the bar which had a good selection of food and a wide variety of drinks. The hotel was right next to the bus station which I found useful when getting a bus to Berwick upon Tweed. Also, the hotel was in quite a good position to drive out to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh, my main reason for being there.

Overall I was not at all disappointed with the hotel facilities but I found that the Internet speed in the bedroom was slow to non-existant, but it was quite good in the downstairs bar. Personally the Internet speed didn't bother me too much as the 4g signal on my 'phone was quite fast so I used that when accessing the Internet in my room.

What a lovely little place! Very clean room, wonderful breakfast, fantastic location. Friendly staff as well, and the locals too. Will definitely be back again.

Breakfast order form was a bit odd, as the day my mother and I checked in, we chose what we wanted, then assumed we needed to do one each day, but their system is once you’ve chosen that’s what you’re having for the length of your stay. Parking is at the rear of the inn and the car park is very small and used by other residents of the hotel as well as residents nearby. I managed to get parked each day I was there, however.

Good location, especially for walking down to Ad Gefrin. Had evening meal there on Friday, which was really good value for money, very tasty and good portion. Obviously popular place for eating as it got busy at lunch / evening meal times. The breakfast was lovely, with everything cooked well and piping hot. Good range of drinks and everything well priced. Staff were very friendly, checking that everything was ok and were enjoying our stay. Rooms well equipped and toiletries and tea / coffee / water restocked each morning. Free parking round the back of the hotel

Bed very soft (that's down to personal preference, we prefer firmer), but still comfy. Bedroom very warm - but again, hotel can't control weather (and you wouldn't expect to need air con / fan) on holiday in England.

friendly welcome. Good price, really nice colour coded room. Decent bath and excellent shower. A reasonable view. Two newish chairs didn't fit with the colour coding; not sure if they were garish or happily upbeat, but they were very comfortable :-) Comfortable bed too and nice complimentary biscuits with bottled water. Nice to be able to go downstairs and get a colder drink or two, though shame food wasn't available. The breakfast was excellent.

We didn't like the church bells chiming on the hour right through the night. Why does anybody in the town think that this is a good idea? If you're a sensitive sleeper Wooler is not for you! The TV remote control was disgustingly dirty as were one or two pieces of cutlery. We had been told that evening food would not be available on the second day (Monday), however when we arrived it turned out that they didn't do food on the Sunday evening either and there was a note to say that there wouldn't be food on Wednesdays too. It didn't matter too much as there were plenty of other places to eat nearby.

We were there for just the one night to meet family, Staff was helpful, was able to check in early, great night's sleep and breakfast was plentiful and tasty, lots of choice to eat and drink, the room was clean and had plenty of choice for tea , coffee , hot chocolate and also lots of complementary products for the shower , the pub was busy and popular in a good way and it was quiet and couldn't hear any noise. Would definitely use the black bull as a base again next time we're up

Friendly staff made us feel welcome. Good selection of food from the bar meals menu, big portions and delicious. Nice room, comfortable, with extras like bottled water and biscuits. Good breakfast in a pleasant room.

It's an older building (which I don't mind, it has character) but the ensuite perhaps a little smaller than expected but not a problem as it has all the amenities you would expect. Limited car parking, but we were able to park in a public car park until 10am, we were leaving before that anyway so not a problem.

The room was nicely presented, with a nice big bay window and a four poster bed. Comfy mattress (albeit very soft, but that's down to personal preference). Nice bathroom with towels, soaps etc.. all provided. A good selection of tea/coffee/biscuits and bottled water. Yorkshire teabags - added bonus. The breakfast the following morning was excellent - a great selection of quality sausages, haggis, black pudding and bacon. Excellent value for money. Would certainly reccommend.

Nothing - it met all my requirements.

We were really happy with our room which was a superior king. The furnishing and bed were brilliant, lovely luxurious shower and no internal noise whatsoever from other rooms. The staff were so friendly and helpful and our breakfast was fantastic, served in a lovely upstairs private dining area.

The only thing that stopped us having a brilliant nights sleep was the noise from the street below. We seemed to be close to a venue that was playing ridiculously loud music and had a crowd of merry people outside our window who were being very loud until past midnight. This was not our hotel's fault at all, but in future we would request a room at the back of the property.
