Amazing beds perfect room and location. Loved the shower :-) Staff were all very helpful, attentive and friendly.
Food was a little disappointing. We both ordered poached eggs for breakfast but they were not good poached eggs should be runny not hard, toast at breakfast also forgotten. My muffin had not been toasted so was more like wet bread with hollandaise sauce on it. For dinner my husband ordered pan seared lambs liver which was supposed to come with colcannon mash but came with plain mash on a small bed of cabbage. Food felt a bit too pre-prepared. I had fish and chips which was pretty over cooked. I appreciate we visited out of season but the same standard should be delivered all year round.

The two rooms, one for us and one for our cousin, were slightly apart from the hotel - you had to go outside to get to them. They were also up some wrought iron steps. This wasn't a problem for us, but could have been if our cases had been heavier, or if it had been raining. However, the rooms were excellent and next to one another, as requested. There was a good selection for breakfast, catering for three very different tastes, including my husband's ceoliac disease. Dinner selections were also good, with gluten free options, see above.
Parking was a little tight, although we found a place each time we needed one. Not really much to dislike.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room had easy access from the car park and was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate, with a good selection of foods, from croissants, fruit and yoghurt, cereals and cooked breakfast.
On our last day we went for breakfast at 9.00 am and there was very little left to choose from, only 1 yoghurt, very little juice etc. despite advertising that they serve breakfast until 9.30 am. Access to the dining area from the rooms was up some metal stairs and through the rear of the building. We struggled with those stairs.

Great location on the road to the causeway. Very positive and helpful staff. Comfortable and warm rooms. Good breakfast and convenient bar on hand.
Nothing really. The evening meals were OK, but not outstanding.

The booking overall massively exceeded expectations in every way for the price. While it is a modernised pub location, the accommodation is very nicely finished private apartment blocks. The rooms themselves are great, with very high quality bathrooms. I'm particularly fond of the fact that they have spent the extra pennies on slightly higher quality tea and coffee stations and consumables than the typical crap quality nescafe you usually get, even the long life milk capsules are of an "improved" quality to the usual. The WiFi had some weak spots, but if you got into the right spot, the speeds were superior to that of a Premier Inn. The location itself is ideal. There is a Morissons around 15 minutes drive away should you need the major shopping amenities, but also a small petrol service station 1 minute around the corner for more immediate and smaller items. Then Holy Island's main car park is only an 11 minute drive away and a nice tourist location to visit should you wish to do so. Alternatively theres plenty of hiking available around the local area. The pub itself is above standard, the food and drink on offer is surprisingly good and the price is extremely reasonable. I'm very fond of the fact they offer and sell local foods and drinks to support the immediate area including the mead from Holy Island. The food service was excellent, the food itself came out very quickly and was extremely nice. Unfortunately due to travelling very early morning I wasnt able to try the breakfast. The staff themselves, particularly the post-3PM changeover staff were incredibly nice, not just to guests and their overall vibe, but I got a distinct impression from their own interactions within their team that they get on very well and seem like generally very positive and nice people to work with.
There was nothing I could have asked for to improve.

We stayed here for the penultimate night of our St Cuthberts Way long distance walk. It was the best hotel we stayed in along the way Initially we were a bit dubious about the location (right alongside the A1) but this wasn't an issue). The stage of the walk finished at the nearby village of Fenwick and we were able to reach the Inn via a cycle route down a quiet country road (approx 30mins on foot) The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and most importantly v helpful and knowledgeable with regards to providing advice re the next leg of the walk to Holy Island.
Nothing to dislike

Fantastic location, we woke up to see the sunrise on the causeway this morning, it was spectacular and literally minutes away from the hotel. Hotel was good, had everything we needed, comfortable. Food was great. The only downside were other guests, out of the hotels control but worth a mention as a family because weekday stay may be common with workmen staying over. There was a lot of swearing from us getting out of the car at teatime, noticable in the restaurant and there was alot of shouting late at night when we were in bed which woke me. Its a shame to mention but this really did impact the stay for us. I'd think twice about it booking weekday again.

The Inn was easy to find and ample safe parking was available. we had a very warm friendly welcome from Mikey on Reception with everything well explained. the room was very clean, spacious and well thought out. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was amazing as was the service from Faye/Faith who was the only other member of staff on duty, but she worked her socks off! Breakfast was also commendable in quality and quantity, in a quiet atmosphere. Nice to be left alone to serve ourselves, no pressure from anyone
We were a little concerned that as our room was near a very noisy external fan from the main building, it would be like that all night, but it wasn't, it went off. Nothing that we didn't like

Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and prepared well. Dinner wasn’t so good - fish was lovely and seemed very fresh but scampi tasted like frozen mass produced scampi and the chips were not very pleasant. Staff were unfailingly polite and helpful and friendly. Room was much nicer than we’d expected although there was an unusual smell in the room (damp? Drains?) The hotel is much nicer than you might expect when you arrive given the tired and dated exterior of the building.
Strange smell in our room and dinner could have been a bit better.

Perfect location, ideal for our short stay easy access to the island and anything else we could need. Breakfast was great and Donna at reception was really helpful when we checked in and getting us sorted for meals and anything else we needed. Everything was really handy and genuinely dog friendly which isn't always the case but we felt our dog was a welcome guest as much as us.
The only thing we had an issue with was the noise from the kitchens extraction fan as this was directly across from our room was making quite a bit of noise but this was only a one night stay so we didn't mind too much.
