Great location food was very good. Staff welcoming and polite.

It's a nice hotel in a great location close to the castle. However, our stay was somewhat marred. Upon arrival we were allocated room. 5 and during the 3 nights we were there our shower didnt work properly or at all in the mornings. We were told it was allegedly associated with water pressure. Sadly it was not fixed during our stay. As compensation we were given a small reduction in the room rate which was accepted, but we would rather have not been in that situation. When you are on holiday the last thing you want is trying to get resolution to yhis type of issue as it affects your overall experience and holiday enjoyment.

Loved the staff, room, facilities, the property. The dining area and the bar areas were comfortable, well designed and well kitted out. Liked the mix of the hotel being dog friendly (we don’t have a dog). The package of this listed building was of a high standard. The army of workers are a credit to the business from front of house, catering, housekeeping, the bar and maintenance. We love Berwick and Bamburgh so it’s an easy choice to return each year to this part of Northumbria.

Not that we didn’t like it, or that we felt our room and possessions was unsecured, but would have liked a safe in the room (didn’t see one). That said, Reception would have kept personal belongings safe I guess.

The location is amazing. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The box of refreshments in the room was excellent in terms of the items offered and it included everything that even picky travellers like me could want! I liked that there were places in the room to sit down, other than on the bed. The bed itself was soft but very comfortable, and I slept very well. I appreciated the number of wall sockets for hairdryer, straighteners, phone charger etc, without needing to unplug anything. The cupboard with ironing board, iron, hairdryer and fan was fantastic. The ensuite was very roomy, with an amazing, walk-in shower! The staff were all very helpful, professional and polite. I liked that the cleaning staff were friendly and polite too. Breakfast was wonderful and delivered to the room precisely on time. There was a sense that guests were treated very respectfully and warmly.

I was very disappointed to discover on arrival that the toilet in my room was not clean. The hotel is promoting itself as being keen to offer an exceptional experience, so this lack of attention to detail was surprising. Additionally, while I am not especially short, if I sat on the toilet, I was unable to put my feet on the floor! This is a rather disconcerting experience!

Furnished in a modern appealing style. Very well located for local attractions. Extremely dog friendly. Really good value for money. Unlike a Premier Inn you get an excellent breakfast included in the price. Rooms are cleaned every day and stocked up with tea/coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. The shower room had a new shower. Staff very friendly. For the sports fan there is a sports bar. The dinner menu is high quality.

We stayed for four nights so on three of them we ate at The Middle Inn which serves down to earth cheap pub grub. The car park is round the back of the hotel and can get very full but there is alternative parking on the high street. We always managed to park in the hotel car park.

The location & rooms were excellent. We booked the restaurant for the first 2 nights and then booked again for a further 2 nights as the food and service were exceptional. The hotel staff were efficient and just lovely!

We couldn't get any live tv and on the 3rd night the internet connection to the tv on demand appeared to be down so we couldn't watch anything. We didn't ask for this to be rectified during our stay as we weren't too bothered and I'm sure, if we had, this would've been sorted so this was a very minor problem during an otherwise perfect stay.

Large open and airy with a feeling of space. Immaculate. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. No lift, so they arranged for someone to carry our cases up for us. We arrived early, and they suggested we sat in the bar area and had a drink and if the rooms were ready earlier they would notify us. Great interaction. Go for the larger double room, which is luxurious, cotton, soft sheets, toiletries great, decor is wonderful. Bar downstairs good for food, breakfast very good. A stone's throw from Bamburgh beach and castle. Ideally situated for exploring the area. Overall, we wished we had booked for longer.

Just the lack of a lift to the upper floors.

Breakfast was good with a varied selction of foods on offer and was served by a cheery staff always a good start to any day,rooms were comfortable,but because it was holiday weekend when we where there and the hotel was often very busy we ate afternoon tea or evening meal at the pub next door it alway seemed easier to get served.It is in a very good location for the castle which is definately in its favour,and parking is good with private car park just 30/40yards away.

There is no lift which would have been helpful but to the hotels credit they in formed us of this before we booked.

Easy access to Bamburgh Castle and Beach, with a short walk down to their locations. Staff was friendly and very helpful, the room was clean, the wifi worked, the bathroom was clean and worked. Breakfast was a treat !

Twice, there was this alarm that went off, once in the morning and once in the evening .... scared the shit out of me. I think it was someone going through an emergency exit or something by mistake ? If they fix this issue with some proper signage, the place would be 10/10. I got lucky with street parking, if you can find it, get it, so that you don't have to worry about moving your car, on the day of your checkout.

Restaurant staff were amazing, especially the lady with the red hair and glasses. Room was clean, free parking from the hotel was a God send, breakfast was gorgeous, and the location is amazing.

Constant whooshing noise as room faced into the centre of the hotel, and the room was a bit stuffy in the warm weather, even with the windows open. Front desk staff weren't very friendly on check in or check out, especially compared to the very friendly and helpful restaurant staff. Room was a bit expensive for the size, and could have done with a little fridge. Corridors were constantly blocked by cleaning staff and bags of laundry.

My room was very nice and the shower, towels and gels etc were excellent. The staff were outstanding. Efficient, caring friendly and very helpful.

No kippers for breakfast which was on the menu and I was looking forward to. The root veg soup was excellent but the over-toasted roll was inedible.and the replacement (microwaved!) was soggy..My lemon and herb chicken was very tasty but overcooked and dry. The roast vegetables were ok but mostly soft peppers, aubergines and courgettes which is not what I expected; I rather fancied potatoes, carrots, onions, parsnips, brassicas etc.
