Lovely location. Hotel a very old building, and so a interior reflected this. Charming and a little old fashioned in places, but absolutely fine. Friendly and helpful staff and would return again.

The location was excellent for places like Bamburgh, Seahouses and Holy Island, only 10- 15 minute drive away. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble. The roo.s were spacious and clean, when returned from our days out we found a bag of toiletries, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on our door. The breakfasts were lovely with a choice of continental or cooked, the environment was warm and welcoming. My only wish was that they had a hairdryer in the room as I forgot mine. I did notice an iron and ironing board (that remained in situ). Would definitely recommend this hotel, we will certainly be returning

I can't come up with anything negative

We stopped here on the way up to Scotland for one night. The hotel is in a small village with a great welcoming vibe and that was replicated in the hotel. All of the staff, particularly kasha and the other young man working the night, were extremely helpful and went the extra mile. We were travelling with a large dog that had recently been attacked and become quite nervous around other dogs. With this knowledge, the staff took it upon themselves to go the extra mile, offering to sit us in a separate room for breakfast or make a pack-up completely off their own back. You can tell that they are truly animal people. For this reason we will definitely be coming back. I don’t think that it sates the surcharge amount anywhere, therefore, it’s £10 surcharge for a dog.

This is a lovely little hotel just off the A1 in Belford Northumberland. It's an old building and some of the decor is a bit dated but tbh I think that adds to it's charm. The room was clean, large and comfortable. TV, Ensuite with bath and shower, tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water. All of the staff we encountered were lovely and seemed to genuinely care if we'd enjoyed our stay or if not what could be done to improve it. We had a slight issue with the water in the shower being too hot but tbh this was better than it being too cold! but we mentioned it on check out. I received an email prior to arrival to say there would be no restaurant facilities available and this was fine with us as plenty of options around the hotel but I would love to stay again and try the restaurant when it is open. They did offer continental breakfast and hot breakfast buns for the morning - we didn't have this but it's good to know there was an option. This hotel was great value for money, We've stayed in several places in Northumberland before who have charged a lot more and the accommodation been a lot worse so we will definitely be returning to the Blue Bell Hotel. Thank you for a great stay.

Generous space in the rooms and use of garden and lounge. The breakfast was really good and it's a great location for walking long distance trails, local shops and access to the coast. The best bit was how efficient, friendly and welcoming the staff were - making us feel really comfortable.

Nothing really. It's not a five star hotel but everything works and it's clean and attractive.

Very peaceful location in a building with a lot of history. Massive room with entrance hall and bathroom with bath and shower. The breakfast was very tasty with quality ingredients so too evening meals. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good views across the countryside. Parking very easy and always available. Excellent value for money

The room needed a couple of small things attended to (It's hundreds of years old so not unexpected) The WiFi was extremely poor.

A real gem of a hotel in a location ideal for accessing all of the top sites of Northumberland. The young staff were extremely professional and helpful, finding good options for us with the rooms, and offering an outstanding service at breakfast. There was a real sense that they cared about our experience. The rooms were great and the hotel is extremely good value and well located. Nothing was too much trouble.

Nothing. This is a great hotel and really good value.

This hotel had only reopened a few days before our arrival and not all facilities were in place, eg the kitchen was not fully functional, meaning evening meals or a cooked breakfast were not available, but they provided very good bacon or sausage sandwiches. The staff were all friendly and helpful and our bedroom window had a good view down the main street of Belford - more picturesque than it sounds :-)

The ability of the hotel to provide evening meals and full cooked breakfast - that may now be in place.

Excellent staff who were very helpful and friendly. Also the restaurant food was fresh produce, well prepared and very tasty. The bar had a good selection of beers etc. We will definitely be visiting the hotel again.

There was nothing to dislike during our stay. We initially booked for 3 nights with breakfast and stayed an additional night.
