This has been a wonderful experience. The staff were amazing accommodating our every need. The family room we stayed in was bigger than I thought it would be and we’ll set out. The beds were so comfortable, plenty of storage, comfy sofa and plenty of tea coffee biscuits etc supplied. The shower room was spacious clean and the shower powerful and easy to control. The 3 course breakfast was excellent - the choices so good with every taste catered for. It was included in the price which was very reasonable. There was also good choice on the menu in the inn. Everything we chose was cooked to perfection and so tasty. It was all so good we stayed an extra night. I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be returning.

Everything was perfect including location. It was easy to get to a variety of beautiful beaches, lovely countryside, waterfalls, cafe’s and of course only 20 mins fromHoly Island. I have no complaints

We were in room 4, with 2 twins put together to make a large double and the beds were so comfortable, I'd love to know what mattress it was. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The full cooked breakfast was very good and obviously used good quality bacon. There was a selection of boxed cereals, orange/apple juice, bananas and yogurt and cooked options of full breakfast, scrambled eggs on toast, scrambled egg and salmon on toast and one other, I can't remember. It's unusual to find places where breakfast was included so that was a definite bonus and set us up well for the rest of the day. We ate our evening meal there one night and that was also good. The heating was very efficient -almost too efficient and we couldn't get it to come on during the day.

The only thing in the room, was the shower, it was an electric shower with very little water pressure and made having a shower a bit of a chore. One of the staff did say they are planning on re-doing the bathrooms so maybe that will be improved. The only other thing, and this is just personal preference, is that there was nothing special about the sliced bread used for toast for breakfast, it was just normal medium, sliced bread - thicker toastie bread would be nice or freshly baked, sliced bread. On the other hand when we asked for more white toast for my wife, this was not an issue and rather than saying they had run out of white bread, the chef nipped to the shop across the road and bought some more.

Great breakfast you could get what you wanted mix up items from menu. The evening meal was delicious not large portions so no wasted food but enough to satisfy. Nicely decorated rooms large bed with extra single bed as well tea & coffee facilities were topped up every day. We went off every day visiting other places so was nice to come back to a warm friendly place. Great staff Julie, Jennie, Jayne and Duncan all made us very welcome. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes peace and quiet and is a great base to travel round. Small village so not a lot to do.

Better checking in sign outside pub said 4pm but was actually 4.30 opening.

We were visiting Alnwick Castle, the White Swan was about 20mins away which was perfect. The accommodation was excellent, quiet, clean, warm, modern and very comfortable. Lovely en suite with powerful shower. Also provided hair dryer, iron & board. Everyone was very friendly and helpful taking time to engage with my 2 small grandsons which they loved (thank you "Lady" ;-) ) I booked tables for dinner both nights we stayed and we had breakfast, the food was excellent. Delicious, fresh, well presented and great value. I would definitely highly recommend this property and hope to visit again.

The outside of the property could probably do with a refresh, but the welcome from the lovely staff more than made up for this. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a large bathroom. The evening food was very good (prawn & salmon salad) with a good number of options for breakfast.

There was very little sound deadening from the room above, so every loud step to and from their several toilet visits during the night could be heard!

We had a fabulous few days here for Valentine’s Day. 2nd time for a really good afternoon tea. All the staff are very friendly and always have time for a chat. Even though this might delay them getting their work done. Beds are super comfortable. Rooms really clean with no problems. Ruby enjoyed her visit also. Restaurant meals were excellent and good value. Plenty of places to visit within a short drive. Thank you all so much. We will be back.

It was in a perfect location for exploring, it was warm, quiet and comfortable, extremely good value for money, the staff were very friendly and the veggie breakfast was nice. The village is gorgeous, and the pub very welcoming. Private parking right in front of our room, separate door to the accommodation so you don't have to go through the pub each time, brilliant.

A couple of things in the bathroom kept falling off (shower screen handle and loo roll holder), and the shower was very slow, either freezing or boiling (although this seemed to improve to 'warm' after the first morning). Not deal breakers though, and easily fixed. Would definitely stay again.

Clean, large room with huge bathroom ensuite. Great location opposite the village store and part of the pub so breakfast / dinner made easy. Staff were great - we were able to arrange a lift from our walking stop at Fenwick to be picked up and taken back in the morning.

Bed made up of two singles - which made a big bed but could feel the ridge in the middle. Creaky floorboards above every time someone moved round that room!

Booked room 5 as it was the biggest room to accommodate us with our big dog. Extra king sized bed with another single, sofa, dressing table with chair mirror and light. Ample storage, large bathroom with shower, heated towel rail and enough space to feed our dog on a cleanable floor without making a mess on a carpet. Ground floor room with easy access to outside for dog and people that smoke. Food was exceptional from breakfast to our evening meal. Full choice at breakfast from cereal, fruit and yogurts to full cooked breakfast or poached eggs on toast etc. Gluten free is also catered for as well as vegetarians. Evening meal was equally excellent and everything was delicious! Hubby had gammon steak with hand cut chips, pineapple and egg (you often have to choose either or) with peas. I had a fantastic mushroom brie and cranberry pie with salad, and hand cut chips. Let's just say it was good enough I had it again on the second night! Everything is homemade and delicious xx COMPLIMENTS to the Chef! Desserts are also homemade and equally delicious. Well worth a visit just fo the meals alone!

The only down side for me was that my mattress was very firm and ended up sleeping in the single bed on the second night, Hubby didn't have a problem at all so I wouldn't say poor sleep on first night was the White Swan's problem.

The room, bed, pillows, bathroom and facilities were excellent. Comfortable and clean. Everything you need. The breakfast was excellent.

Unfortunately for me the pub noise was too much. If you’re out for the count, this place cannot be faulted! It is excellent value for money. I was really tired after a long journey and a long day, so the noise ruined it for me. However was done by 11.15pm. Very clean, bathroom brand new! Very clean and tidy!!
