Staff could not be any more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Entrance and bar lovely and welcoming. Gardens well looked after.
Bedroom was very lacking for the price paid and in keeping with rest of building - stayed in Thunderer Room - state of armchair it should have been replaced (obviously had previous pet damage). Wallpaper highlighted stains on wall more (appreciate old building but needs attention). Location of drink making facilities vs sockets not compatible ! Bedroom just lacked warmth and cosiness which entrance and bar gave and took away from the rest of hotel and overall feel.

Stayed here before and liked its traditional style. Food good.
First superior room we saw had no windows other than skylights and we refused it. Second room was a standard twin which was rather pokey and dark. Finally settled on the suite which although on the second floor (lots of steep stairs) had lots of light and was very quiet and comfortable. The only problem was that the shower was not working. It was fixed before the last night of our trip.

Great location, comfortable and friendly hotel, was a relaxing stay. Comfortable bed, great shower and a delicious breakfast with lots of choice.
Great that it's dog friendly, but when guests are letting their dogs out in the garden at 7am on a Sunday morning and they start barking, it was a noisy wake up call. Part of bath panel was damaged and rotten and our bedside lights didn't work, although the staff fixed this while we were out during the day.

Room was very comfortable. Food very good. Lovely back garden. Location very good for visiting local area. Service was excellent.
Typhoo teabags in the bedrooms didn't really fit with quality elsewhere. The kettle was a health and safety issue as the lead was far too short and scarcely reached the plug.

The breakfast was very good and got everyone off to a great start, and we enjoyed delicious unhurried dinners. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed sitting having drinks in the garden before dinner. Our bedroom was very comfortable.
I would have liked an EV charger.

The Hotel was excellent. Our room was spacious and very well appointed. The lounge accommodation was very comfortable and restful. The food was of a very high standard in range and quality. Both dinner and breakfast were first rate. The reputation of Hotels is determined largely by the staff. In the Collingwood Arms, the staff were friendly and attentive and made guests very welcome. For the standard achieved the Hotel provided very good value for money. Management and staff should be commended for their efforts and attention to the requirements of guests. Very well done !

The village is tiny, but we were able to walk over to Coldstream in Scotland for a visit to a pub. It was a bank holiday weekend, so many shops, museums, etc. were closed. Nevertheless, the Collingwood Arms is a lovely place to relax and enjoy excellent service and fine cuisine.

Location was ideal stopping point for us. Room was comfy and food was good in fact I would say that portions were a bit big especially starters. Friendly staff.. Right next to a fantastic little village shop with excellent deli counter.
Rooms could have been cleaner and the tv in the room had very poor reception.

We enjoyed the breakfast at the Collingwood Arms, plenty of choices on offer, couldn’t fault it. The location suited us perfectly, peaceful location, a great stopover en route to Alnwick. Would stay here again, and would recommend to family and friends
No recommendations, the relaxed unstuffy feel suited us fine.
