Room was good. Only complaint would be the wet room we had in annexe,it would of be good to have something to sweep water of floor into drain as it was a bit frustrating when using toilet also room could of done witha fan. Everything else was as expected. We have been ther a 4 times now staff are always helpful and facilities. One other thing was WiFi, given where are room was there wasn't any however this was explained upon booking in. Thanks
Mentioned above No wifi, could of done with a fan in room as was classy and wet room could of done with something to move water on floor into drain. Thanks

Treated my mum to a little weekend away here and we were not disappointed. You cannot get much better value than £35 for a night in clean and comfortable surroundings within an amazing location. The cooked breakfast is also worth a mention- delish! Staff were super friendly and helpful especially when there had been a room mix up.
Please note this is such good value and that does come at a cost- luxurious it is not but it is as comfortable as it can be. We were given a room “upgrade” to a room that slept 6 and although yes it was larger, the beds were all bunks- not ideal when travelling with your mum! Watch out for this when booking via booking.com as the YHA say they can’t guarantee you a room type.

Nice hostel, clean, good rooms, friendly staff and great location. Excellent value for money. Really good kitchen facilities and lots to do meaning we'd definitely bring the kids here in future.
The only let down for us was the vegetarian breakfast. Actual vegetable sausages rather than a proper sausage alternative. Nothing wrong with them per se, but even though we don't eat meat, we really don't want to east carrots, peas and sweetcorn first thing in the morning. The rest of the cooked breakfast was spot on so work on the sausages and it would be 10/10.

Hot showers! Great self catering kitchen with equipment and dining facilities.Appreciate the TV and comfortable sofa to catch up with news and weather etc Book swap/donate is good for readers £1 a book Scott and all the staff are friendly helpful and do a great job, have been here a few times and always find it consistently good value
Suggest having a polite notice on the security door to bedrooms beside the elevator asking users to close it quietly out of consideration for guests in nearby rooms!

Had spacious room, as put in family one, only 2 of us, but liked it- loads of storage. Great kitchen/ diner facilities, all you need. Been able to store luggage before and after check in/out is fantastic when you travel by train- dont have to drag around. Staff friendly Clean Location perfect for town, buses/trains. Building lovely design
Beds were a little squeaky and uncomfortable after 3 nights and as they were all bunk beds more squashed when sat up in bed. Drains smell in bathroom ( but should have said at time- sure if anything could have been done they would)

Located close to the harbor and the various sightseeing spots. Staff are courteous Common kitchen had a good dining area and having a fridge was great
We had booked for a private room with twin beds but we were accommodated into a 5-bed room. While room was spacious and no one else was booked into the room, our beds were not beside one another was we had wanted. There was someone's shoe in one of the cupboards and a used water bottle near one of the beds Water in wash basin didn't drain very well

Great for amenities needed and relaxing. Good base if you want to visit St Abbs , Eyemouth Coldingham etc @ the border in Scotland or all coastal stops south to Newcastle/ villages to Lindisfarne/Holy Island by public or own transport. Scott and the team are always welcoming and friendly but not intrusive. Facilities and amenities at this hostel are fantastic. LS Lowry exhibition was superb free for guests a huge bonus for education and for those on a limited budget.

For a youth hostel, despite basic furnishings in the room, this proved an excellent choice for a short stopover. Not stayed in a YHA for many years, but the heritage building was lovely, the facilities good, and the location was second to none. Will definitely be back, and then make use of the excellent shared kitchen. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was a little more basic than it needed be. Like having nowhere to put down things in the wetroom shower without them getting wet. Some of the guests were a bit rude to the staff at breakfast, turning up late and then demanding it be put out again, which felt a shame. Get with the team folks.

Berwick YHA was close to everything in Berwick, The rooms, whilst Spartan were clean and adequate. Kitchen was clean and functional. Breakfast was good. Would stay again in a heartbeat. The location was fantastic. Close to restaurants, bars and the main street. The town was a revelation. A walled town with enormous amounts of history. Close to the water. AND it had a lift! It was also quiet.

The location was great, lovely by the Quay side. Right in the centre of the town. Amazing building, good car park. Bedrooms were clean and the beds and bedding were really comfy. The Lobby was a great little hub to chill out. Nice to get a coffee and play with kids. The cafe was great.
The kids area and eating area was a bit tired and shabby. They were short staffed so the evening menu weren't always reliable.
