The room was excellent and clean. The breakfast was lovely and always on-time. It was nice to have it in the room. The location was ideal for exploring the area. Richard was lovely and really helpful, his knowledge of the area was tops. They never left me wanting for anything and take pride in their accomodation. They have a passion for this place, the garden is beautiful and you have good access to the A1. I definitely recommend a stay here.

Parking in a thunderstorm under a tree. It was a pretty exhilarating experience.

When we arrived we were greeted by both of our hosts, who were friendly, accommodating and informative. They freely gave information about the area, places to eat and visit, and general information. They even provided us with an Ordinance Survey Map of the area with some places of interest highlighted. Nothing was too much trouble. The property and the room were spotlessly clean and smelt glorious all of the time. It was well presented and very comfortable. It was spacious, the facilities were excellent - i.e. private outdoor seating area / terrace with tables and seats. Even the kettle in the room was of a decent size. If you are a coffee lover, then the coffee machine in the room was also a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable, the mini fridge was stocked with fresh milk and chilled water. Everything about the room and facilities was of a high standard, tastefully done and no expense had been spared. The shower / en-suite were excellent. The view was lovely - with the sea in the distance. As an attic room, it did have a slanting wall on one side, which took a little getting used to, but it was overall delightful. Breakfast is delivered to your room - promptly at the time you request. Every day we were treated to a friendly face and chat about our day, the history of the property and other topics. We highly recommend Birdsong Cottage and would certainly stay there again.

The breakfast was delicious, but unexpectedly limited in choices. Bacon or Sausage or Bacon & Sausage in a Stottie (Bap). Fresh fruit. Yoghurt. For example, a preferred choice of a cooked breakfast (Full English) would be good. As would Cereal, Toast, spreads etc.

Our hosts were very friendly and gave us lots of tips concerning where to viisit. The accommodation was good - a very comfortable bed and large bathroom with excellent shower. The breakfast, ordered the evening before, was delivered to our room at the time requested and was also very tasty. We also liked the little extras: treats left in the room each day, the kettle and coffee maker filled ready for use and anything we had used was replenished. All in all we can thoroughly recommend Birdsong Cottage.

The property was amazing. Great location, great hosts. Absolutely nothing to fault, the hosts Richard and Sandra were so so lovely, so welcoming. Every single thing was perfect regarding the room, and the little touches were really thought through, and went a long way. Breakfast tasted AMAZING - delivered to outside your door. Has everything you could need for a night away. Would a million perfect stay here over and over again. Thank you both!!!

Nothing - it’s amazing

What a GEM! Over the years we have stayed in many cottages & Airbnbs. This, by far, is the best. Richard, the owner is a super host. His attention to detail is evident from the moment you enter the room. From the layout and the generally relaxing "zen vibe" down to the little details like... glass bottles of water and milk in the fridge (Replaced daily) The breakfast choice is great ( tried my first Stotty. Very nice) The name (Birdsong cottages) is true to form. I sat on the balcony each morning to a cacophony of birdsong. Really sets you up for the day. If you are a coffee lover (Like myself) there is a excellent choice of Nespresso pods on offer, again replenished daily. Where to go, what to do? The room houses a map with circled ideas along with numerous books of places to visit. Or you can just ask Richard, who has a wealth of local knowledge. To sum up. This was our first visit to Birdsong Cottages. It won't be the last :)

Could not find fault

This was described in the visitors book as a little gem and I must agree! The owners were the perfect hosts , welcoming,friendly and helpful . The house is perfectly located 100 yards from the northbound A1 , but there was absolutely no traffic noise ! Breakfast was served to our room , the weather was perfect we ate it on the rear garden patio, the only noise was birdsong ! Idyllic. Lovely shower , an espresso coffee machine in the room and a lovely breakfast .

I would recommend better signage , the sat nav found it , but signage could be better !

It’s a little gem! Firstly so lovely and clean, the bed linen was super soft. Hosts were so helpful with local info. Little extras were very much appreciated, cheese biscuits, chocolate and shortbread bites, along with fresh milk for the tea and coffee. Breakfast was huge! I would definitely recommend. We went to a wedding at the Barn, which is super close.

Couldn’t fault it really.

Fantastic hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. An exceptional room with a high level of cleanliness and all the facilities you could possibly need. An amazing location with both sea views out of one window and lovely countryside views out of the other. A great breakfast which we were able to eat on our private terrace. An all round gem of a place.

Everything was catered for with lots of extra touches, and breakfast was outstanding, delivered to the room. The hosts were so informative of the local area, and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will be visiting again. Thank you

Very comfortable bed. Abundant coffee & tea facilities with biscuits and wee treats. The breakfasts of sausage & bacon stottie with fruit & yoghurt was more than adequate to set you up for the day. Richard was a mine of information about the local area- a really nice guy! Excellent!
