Location on the edge of town, by the railway station. I later discovered that the hotel had been used as a base by the painter L. S. Lowery. That appealed to me. I did like the ambience of the hotel, and the staff were very pleasant. My room with bathroom was comfortable, and I couldn’t fault the cleanliness.

Breakfast finished at 9.15am. A bit early for me. Also I had booked breakfast included, but discovered on arrival that if I wanted a cooked ‘English’ breakfast, it was at extra cost. However the cost was extremely reasonable and choice was customised.

Location of hotel was great, plenty of shops and restaurants near by as-well as being near the coast. Room was value for money, comfortable and had plenty of tea/coffee choices. Room was spotless! TV had plenty choices (Netflix, YouTube…) Bathroom contained a huge walk in shower. Clean. Breakfast only includes continental, which we expected, however we did upgrade to full English. Staff were super helpful and friendly!

Only issue was being next to the train station, a few noise issues/loud trains going by but wasn’t a massive problem. No parking - Parked at the train station, not a huge issue however parking would have been helpful.

The location right by the train station was superb. I thought the breakfast was tasty and the service was quick and friendly.

The room door lock was unique and perplexing to me. That was my fault because clear written instructions were in the room and I didn't notice them until after panicking when I thought I'd locked myself in. Please be smarter than I was and consult the instructions. I didn't plan on lugging my suitcase up the stairs, again this is on me but it might be helpful to others to know in advance that there is no lift.

This was a 1 night stay. I booked a single room which was small but more than adequate for a 1 nights stay. If I were to stay for longer I would pay extra for a double room. I was happy with my room and very comfortable bed however the bathroom was very small and specifically the bathroom sink which was tiny. The room, the bed, and bathroom were very clean so overall I was impressed.

We needed a hotel for one night as our kids were playing rugby in the town the next day. This was the only place we could find that allowed pets. And boy, did they make us, and our two dogs, feel welcome. We had a family suite which had everything you could ask for and three extremely comfy and clean beds. A separate bathroom with a shower and a bath. It was perfect. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food, though nothing fancy, was absolutely delicious.

There was internet available but it was poor given the distance of our rooms from the router. The continental breakfast was good, I’d have preferred the option of a cooked breakfast included in the price of the room but wasn’t prepared to pay over £8 each for that. Also the electric shower in our bathroom was very underpowered.

Excellent large double room. Large bathroom with walk in shower. Clean, comfortable and modern. Great location next to the Railway Station and 5 minute walk to town centre.

I had messaged the hotel 24 hours before arrival to ask for an early check in at 1pm. When we arrived the girl at reception said you cant check in until 3pm. I then said I had messaged them the day before, to which she replied, 'oh yeah, I seen that message but didnt bother replying'😬 I also didnt think the breakfast was great.

The room , staff , and cooked breakfast were absolutely fine and a good choice. The sound proofing worked well,given that the rooms are on top of a busy local bar.

I only stayed one night, on a sem:i business trip, and met friends In a very lively local bar that forms part of the hotel. The reason for this, is we couldn't find a quieter guest lounge to use(I may have missed it). The other thing, I tried to order coffee for my friends, but only instant coffee was available. These are just minor grumbles, generally I was. very happy with the hotel.

I stayed with 2 large dogs (lurcher and basset hound) this was our second time staying at the hotel due to how welcome we are all made to feel. Check in was quick and pain free staff made a fuss over the dogs. My lurcher is very dog reactive but that was not an issue and was treat the same as any other dog which is rare and very nice to see. The room was warm clean and modern and the shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was served in the small room next to reception due to having the dogs, this is a great idea and much better than eating in the bar as we did on my previous stay. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

Good location for visitors seeing by rail and close to local bus stops. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good supply of water, tea, coffee and little biscuits on hospitality tray.

Restaurant not open every evening. Wasn’t aware of limited opening times when I booked. Limited clothes hanging space (no wardrobe, just wall mounted hanging rail). Not a problem for me (I travel light) but others may think otherwise. Not used to having to specify what time I’d like breakfast. Limits flexibility. Bit of road noise…
