Our second stay in this apartment, separate from the hotel and well located for shops, restaurants and Alnwick's tourist attractions, all of which are in walking distance with the castle just around the corner. Facilities are good (master bedroom is a beautiful space and all beds are very comfortable). Tea/coffee making equipment provided but no kitchen facilities, with a lovely gas fire for cold evenings. Breakfast is taken in the hotel, a few steps across the narrow street and is very tasty with plenty options. Very friendly staff and the associated pub/restaurant is a nice place too.

The apartment seemed a little tired, given that we were only there a few months earlier and it was immaculate then. Shelf missing in the bathroom, paint chips out of the skirting boards on the entry stairs. Small things, but I would have thought this would have been attended to for the opening of the forthcoming season by now? Pre-ordering breakfast the evening before isn't great for me, as I don't necessarily know what I want until I get up in the morning!

Property was excellent but hard to find as it was set back above a shop, with access from a side street. There were no instructions on how to find it given so we went into the Dirty Bottles restaurant and by accident found someone who could check us in. The service from the staff member was functional but not particularly friendly, we seemed to be an inconvenience but the staff member was multi-tasking as wait staff in a very busy restaurant, so I can imagine it was a bit of a pain to deal with us as well. The meals were great and the service by subsequent staff was good. The property was lovely, very warm and comfortably set out. The only small negative was the lack of a kitchen sink to refill our water bottles. We had to use the bathroom sink and it was difficult to get the water bottles underneath it to refill. Small beer in the big scheme of things. Would definitely consider using the property again, now we know where it is and how to check in. One warning, the landlords Booking.com account was compromised and we got lots of messages through Booking.com which asked us to reconfirm things. Luckily the landlord was able to warn us not to follow those addition instructions, so we were not caught out.

Lack of information about how to check in and the location of the property and where to park the car.

Alnwick was a fantastic little town which we visited to see Alnwick Castle. We chose The Bottles lodge because of its location. The staff were amazing and super helpful. The accommodation was clean and the best we have had so far on our trip. Easily accommodated our family of 4. It exceeded our expectations for the price we paid having a full apartment to ourselves. We also got breakfast included which was delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. As the dining options were full the night we were there the staff recommended a couple of other options and the food was amazing Market Tavern.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

This is our 2nd time staying at The Bottles Lodge. It is a fantastic lodge for a family but with added advantage of having pub/restaurant across the cobbled path and breakfast included in the price. The location is brilliant... a few mins walk from the Castle entrance and not much further to the town centre & Alnwick Gardens. It was perfect for what we need so would definitely return again in future.

The lodge is obviously very old so the floorboards and staircases are very loud & creaky.... The lodge would benefit from having a mini fridge in it for somewhere to keep drinks cold.

Lovely central location. Extremely clean and well thought out. The sitting room was a bonus and the master bedroom was beautiful. Lots of extra touches like bottled water and a coffee maker.

Breakfast was only served 9 till 10am. This was a little late for us as we had hoped to be leaving for 9 for a full days exploring. Also, could do with a repaint in a few areas (especially the bathroom).

Very nice helpful staff. The pub serves good food and drinks. Good decor, sympathetic to the old building whilst still having an up to date ambience. Very good breakfast. Walking distance to Alnwick Castle and the town has lovely architecture. Free 24 hour parking a short walk away.

It was early June but the Lodge was a bit cold for us as the temperature dropped sharply with clear night skies so would have been good to have at least a heated towel rail in the bathroom. The Lodge room accommodation is okay but a bit haphazard. Master room is in the attic, very creaky winding stairs down to the bathroom at night.

The softest bed on our vacation, cozy sitting room, and easy access to the restaurant for all our meals. We would definitely stay here again. Also, we loved that our bags were brought up to the main floor of the Lodge. I know our bags were heavy. Thank you!

We didn't know how to work the electric shower, and so didn't get a chance to use it during our stay. Our fault though for not asking earlier.

Loved location - centre of town next to Castle, handy for Supermarket (a few mins walk) & shops/cafes/restaurants/bars. Alnwick Gardens just a short 12 minute walk away. Lovely lodge - very modern but homely & comfortable Lovely comdy beds in both rooms. Lovely breakfast in The Dirty Bottles (I had the full breakfast & was fab!!). My husband also had the kippers and enjoyed them. The Dirty Bottles has a nice chilled out atmosphere and lovely decor. It is busy all day & night. Great if you can't be bothered going far for your dinner or/& a drink! We would definitely return. As a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 8 & 13 it was really handy having the extra space with the lounge & second bedroom compared to us all being squashed into a family room in a hotel. The price was fair for what you got since it included breakfast.

No on-site parking (but we were lucky enough to get a space in the longstay 24hr free carpark (Pottergate New Row) which is just a 2 minute walk from the lodge. Very creaky staircase going up to main bedroom - woke the kids up if you needed to go downstairs to use the bathroom during the night!! Because so close to The Dirty Bottles it was quite noisy at night when it closed with people going home talking/laughing etc but it didn't last very long so wasn't a big issue. A mini fridge would be good to keep drinks cold - not a huge deal for us on a 2 night break in April but in the summer for a longer period would be really beneficial. Coffee machine wasnt very good - would have preferred a Nespresso machine.

Perfect location right in the heart of Alnwick, great little apartment, spotless, beautifully decorated, great breakfast at the pub literally 4ft walk away.Would stay again.

There was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom - looked like there had been a towel rail at some point, but needs to be replaced, with a hook on the door, and there was no plug in the sink. Would be good to have a mini fridge to keep drinks cold - only 'kitchen ' equipment supplied is a kettle and coffee maker.
