The apartment is well furnished, with everything you could possibly need with modern fittings. The location is great, minutes, in a car, from excellent shopping facilities and Durham City also Beamish open air museum is not too far. We have stayed here before in June 2022 for our son's wedding, it was a party of about 18 and it was brilliant because the grounds in Plawsworth are extensive with stunning views, we all cooked a meal in our own apartments and then dined outside together, there are tables and benches provided outside. The Red Lion pub is about a five minute walk away and serves good food and drinks. Plawsworth is a really lovely place to stay.

If there is one negative it would have been to have blinds on the windows for privacy.

We had a premium apartment - it was big and had every basic you need for self catering. Beautiful view from the living room, and lovely big sliding door to help with keeping the room cool. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom big. It was very clean throughout.

We had an issue on arrival, but it was quickly and professionally dealt with. There are a few things missing from the apartment - an extra chair/stool would have made us more comfortable, the bedroom needed an extra side table and the living area could have used a lamp or 2 for the evening. The room was very very clean, but there are a few scuffs/broken tiles around which could do with a touch up to make it absolutely immaculate.

Great Location just off the main road and a short drive to Durham. Lovely looking area and the cottage was very spacious and had everything we needed. Despite being an end terrace we were surprised that we couldn’t hear the neighbours, only when they walked down the stairs - well thought out layout when building. We would definitely stay again. Harry checked us in and was very nice and told us about Beamish which is close by. We didn’t have any issues at all and would definitely stay there again.

We were given a warm welcome when arriving. We had booked the three bedroom cottage and the two bedroom flat for a family stay over the Christmas period . Fantastic countryside location but also near enough to shops at Durham or Chester le street if you needed them or wanted to explore. Both properties were spotlessly clean with great facilities , everything we needed was included . Really great place to stay and we had a fabulous time .

Loved the location. Surrounded by fields and so quiet despite being just off the A road. Comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. The under floor heating kept us nice and warm despite the unseasonably cold weather. Just a short walk to the Red Lion pub where Plawsworth guests get 10% off which was an added bonus. Perfectly situated for visiting Beamish. On arrival we were upgraded too which was very nice and much appreciated.

Nothing to not like really. A few more kitchen utensils maybe but that’s being picky.

Met with a warm welcome shown the room explanation about what to do on leaving at the end of holiday & asked to let gentleman know if needed anything. Excellent apartment advantage of having 2 toilets and a ground floor apartment because of mobility. Everything needed was included. Very pleased this is our 2nd time of staying here and we would book again.

We had 2 two bedroom apartments for a 3 generation family holiday. Location was ideal for visiting Beamish and other places in the NE. Have already recommended the accommodation to friends and hope to return ourselves at some point. Large supermarket just up the road was ideal for stocking up on snacks etc but with the nearby Red Lion pub offering 10% discount for Plawsworth visitors on a wide ranging menu for we tended to eat out rather than cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Comfortable lounges in each of the apartments meant we could spend quality time as a family and grandson was well catered for.

A couple of the lights in one of our apartments didn't work properly.

Lovely warm welcome and shown around the accommodation which was beautifully presented and clean and warm Beds were very comfortable indeed

There was a small supply of tea and coffee and milk sachets which was great so we could have a drink after a long drive. A few biscuits would have been a nice touch and maybe some salt and pepper made available as we did cook breakfast at the property

The location was fantastic - very quiet, with large open grassy areas where our child could play, and just a couple of minutes from the main road. We were within short drives of several interesting sights and activities (Diggerland, the Beamish Museum, Durham city centre...), and supermarkets were a five minute drive away. The apartment was comfortable and had a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom facilities were a little dated but everything worked and was very clean. Beds were comfortable although the pillows in the single bedroom were a tad on the hard side. Highly recommended, we would not hesitate to return for a family holiday.

The pillows in one bedroom were not that comfortable. The bathrooms could do with being updated but it did not detract from our comfort in any way.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Plawsworth Hall Serviced Cottages and Apartments, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. The property is located in the idyllic village of Plawsworth, just a short drive from Durham City. The setting is absolutely stunning, with rolling hills and lush green countryside all around. The cottages and apartments themselves are beautifully appointed and spacious. Our two-bedroom apartment had everything we could possibly need, including a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, and two bedrooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we slept like babies. The owner of the property, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He was on site to greet us on arrival and gave us a tour of the property. He also made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. We spent our days exploring the beautiful countryside around Plawsworth. We visited Durham Cathedral, Hadrian's Wall, and the Beamish Museum. We also enjoyed some great food at the local restaurants.
