Size of the room and the bathroom had a bath. Breakfast was good. Staff were polite and helpful.

The setting is beautiful.

The first room we went to was very, very dark. We soon got a move to a slightly nicer room. Still dark, but that is the ambience of the building. Check-in and check-out times could do with being a bit more flexible. It did feel very rushed having to be out by 10.30 am. We were a little late leaving and got a call to the room asking when we planned to leave. We were just walking out the door. Earlier, we had asked for more tea and coffee making facilities in the room. This took ages to arrive, which hadn't helped. All round a pleasant stay and would definitely go back. Breakfast was lovely, too.

We paid £25 for a room upgrade to stay in a beautiful feature room, 4 poster bed lovely on suite bathroom, and a separate dressing room area . We had dinner in the garden bar area food was lovely as usual, and the room price includes self service breakfast lots of choice for all dietary preferences. This was our 5th stay in Coombe abbey. We usually book end of November beginning December to celebrate our Wedding anniversary- and it is magical during Christmas season.

The only issue we had was the shower didn't work - bearing in mind the building and facilities are old and quirky the bath is a big tub and the water heated up for a nice relaxing soak.

Did a murder mystery, great show and food. Breakfast in the garden room was excellent plenty of choice and delicious there was also lots of lovely places to sit and enjoy a drink in the gardens esp with the weather being nice and warm and enjoy the stunning views of the house and grounds. All the staff were very friendly and helpfull.

Nothing really, we were upgraded on arrival which was nice and the room was very comfortable although it did need a couple of repairs completing,which we didn't really have time to raise due to our shedule but overall a lovely stay in an amazing place will go back.

Beautifully presented period property set in gorgeous surroundings. We were at an event in the marquee with about 300 people. Really impressed with the food and the organisation. Food came out on hot plates and was really very good for an event of that size.

The rooms have been decorated in keeping with the age of the property. Whilst the room was very clean and well payed out, with all of the fabric drapes etc in the room there is a lot of dust so woke up coughing in the morning (I normally only get this when on holiday in hot dry countries). Price of drinks is very high.

The hotel is set in a woodland area/park with a Go Ape centre for all ages and an Artisan building to purchase local produce too, the hotel has a moat around the outside of it leading out to a 3 mile or so circular walk alongside its own lake with bird hide to look out at the wildlife and birds beyond..... truly picturesque and stunning!! The room was exceptionally spacious although a little tired in decor but balanced to the age of the building and extremely comfortable. The food was great from the var menu and ample in portion size and breakfast was as good too! We would definately re- visit.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The hotel is bursting with character and charm, creating a truly unique and memorable experience. Our room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a perfect night’s sleep. All the facilities were in excellent working order, making our stay smooth and stress-free. The staff were outstanding from start to finish—warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our visit special. Breakfast was a highlight, with a fantastic selection and everything cooked to perfection. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be returning. Thank you for a truly exceptional stay!

1. Room rather dark - nice to be in keeping with the general ambience of the hotel, but as a red brick building there is no reason why more light coulnt be provided for morning makeup and shaving. 2. Pillows old and very lumpy. below standard for this type of hotel 3. Room temperature cold. Provided oil heater only just sufficient. 4. TV chanels - access to eg iplayer, or ability to screen mirror is needed these days. 5. One day was very busy, so that bar and restaurant facilities were insufficent - more seating needed.

This hotel is so pretty and well decorated. The hotel itself is like a mini museum. Everywhere you look, there is something interesting to see. We went during Christmas time so it was even more decorated. Room were great size and everthing was clean and comfortable. Reception lady with the blond hair was really kind and sweet. Garden around the castle is also very nice for a walk. I did not try the restaurant so i cant comment, but i did order room service: baked camembert and periperi hashbrown tots, both were phenomenal, thumbs up to the chef!

Staff were brilliant, customer service was excellent, without looking like it was rehearsed !!! To the point that when we took a wrong turn in the car park, and weren't sure where to go to drop off our bags, a young man called Luke, explained how to get back to the reception area, and even waited for us to make sure that our arrival went smoothly. And I must add he was on his break at the time.

Breakfast seemed a little disorganised, no sauces available, and the toaster only worked one-sided. Also the orange juice dispenser was so unstable that when my husband wnt to pour a drink the whole thing collapsed on him. When a member of staff came out to help clean up the mess, she said that it was not the first time that time it had happened that week, so I question why it was allowed to happen a second time
