This hotel (telegraph hotel coventry) is an absolute gem! The staff are really helpful and greeted us with a smile (when we arrived, when we had breakfast and when we left). Also great communication on the chat too from the staff and always responsive. If you are into your hotels I would say this is on a par with a modern Novotel in terms of style and comfort. It was quiet, comfy, clean, great shower (with a removable head too as well as a rainshower). White company products in the bathroom, a fridge, a kettle, lots of mirrors, plugs in useful areas of the room (near the bed and near the mirrors to get ready!), air conditioning. The designers of this hotel have thought of everything and you will not be disappointed. I felt super clean in the room. I am very impressed. The breakfast was also amazing and they provided alternative milks. Also loved the history to the building the hotel is in too. A shopping centre near by too with really good highstreet shops. Cannot complain about anything. It was great. A fab stay. Will be back soon! Just to note there isn't parking at the hotel but there is an NCP near by which was reasonably priced and not far. It was actually quite nice to walk across the precinct to the car after our stay and soak up a bit of sunshine and grab some snacks from the newsagents too. Fab stay. I liked the fact that the Telegraph is an historical conversion and this is represented in the interior design of the entire hotel. So, the building has a narrative, which you can feel when you stay there as a guest. Staff were very helpful and personable and the rooms were beautifully designed and comfortable. The room I was staying in was also very quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable so I slept very well, even though we were in the heart of the city. Breakfast was good, and I also enjoyed the evening meal I had there one night. As a solo traveller it was a very comfortable experience staying there and I'd recommend this hotel unreservedly.

Stylish, very comfortable, friendly hotel. All staff were professional, friendly and helpful.The room was spacious, well laid out, and very comfortable . A super shower and spacious bathroom and a comfortable bed . Nice to have reading material in the room relating to the 50s and 60s period. The decor was very stylish and period appropriate. As old Coventrians who moved away, it was lovely to see the repurposed Telegraph building presented in such a stylish way with original features retained. Loved the handrails, use of wood and metal and the fabulous furniture. The different zones for eating were effective, allowing for sociable gathering and also for couples to enjoy a quieter eating experience. A good bar menu and wide breakfast choice. Barman Adam was very professional, helpful and friendly. Our room was always well maintained and cleaned thoroughly.

Everything on offer at breakfast was splendidly prepared, though the range was perhaps a little restricted in comparison to some. The room and public areas were simply wonderful. They were spotlessly presented, very comfortable and hugely tasteful and stylish. As an old man who remembers the 1950s, and the "Coventry Evening Telegraph", I felt instantly at home. The retro Roberts radio, for instance was a brilliant idea! But the carpets and furniture in general just "did it" for me. All the staff to whom I spoke were delightful. They looked and acted their part to perfection.

As a life-long vegetarian, I did feel slightly disappointed with the dinner menu, although I freely admit that I was able to order from it...

We loved the experience of staying in a building where was once a newspaper. We kept imagining the buzz in that place at that time, it’s fascinating. The room is very comfortable, high quality pillows and mattress; the amenities, bathroom and shower are also excellent. Breakfast provided a good variety in a buffet style, they had everything we hoped for and it was delicious! Highly recommend.

Nothing! If any, I wish they displayed short snippets/stories about the place and its workers between the 50-70s. They were the guys telling stories to the nation, I’d love to read / hear stories about them! Maybe some post cards could be done for the guests to take home, or a Spotify playlist (to scan a QR code) and listen to stories in that vintage radio placed on the side table – as if was a radio station back in time.

The size of the room and the cleanliness. The walk in shower was excellent and the bed very comfortable. Staff very helpful especially when we had a problem with the T.V. Reception staff very welcoming. Close to centre of Coventry and amenities. Breakfast was very good.

Our room had a connecting door and you could hear the people in the adjoining room very clearly. Ie hair dryer, when they spoke, the television etc. even though they seemed to be quiet people. It made us feel that we couldn’t talk much so as not to disturb them. Light not good for applying make up.

Very happy with our stay at the Telegraph hotel. It's a special building and the interiors are full of character. We went for the slightly bigger room which is great value-for-money. It's very spacious, with sofa and chairs and very comfortable bed. Am super happy with the bathroom -- clean, tastefully designed and functional! There are places to put things (so handy!) both inside and outside the shower cube, drain's not blocked (could so often happen in hotels...) and a towel rail which works! :) The staff are extremely nice and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when we next visit the city.

A few minor things -- lighting could have been better (e.g. an extra floor lamp) cos one corner of the room is really dark. A socket closer to the bathroom would make life easier when using the hair-dryer. And a update of the in-room TV (one which has WiFi connection) would also be extremely handy.

Location, near the theatre we were attending, historicall links to a newspaper we remembered and it offices. Quality of breakfast, late checkout at weekends, space in room, cleanliness.

No onsite parking Inadequate sound proofing so sounds from event was intrusive right till midnight. This was especially disappointing as we were not made aware of until we checked it. But it did stop at midnight as advised. Small maintenance issues in room, including loose curtain fitting at end so it would not close fully. Strange toilet seat fixing that came lose if sat forward or leant feet on to dry and was potentially dangerous could fall off.

I've wanted to stay here for a while, I remember when this was the Newspaper offices so it's a significant landmark. I now live elsewhere but stay in Coventry every week, I've had my eye on the Telegraph but it is usually too expensive for a business traveller who pays for his own accommodation. On this occasion the price had come down significantly (to £77/night) so I gave it a go and I wasn't disappointed. The room was superb and the overall condition of the Hotel was excellent.

When I came in to the Hotel to check in there appeared to be some sort of 'Derby & Joan' Christmas lunch going on and I held the door open for a number of mobility scooters. However, after walking the wrong direction looking for reception I was greeted by a member of staff who asked me "Can I help you sir?" in a way that suggested I was lost and shouldn't be trespassing (I was smartly but casually dressed for my works Christmas party). When I got in reception I was treated in the same manner - the receptionist said "Can I help you?" but might as well have added "you ruffian".

Gorgeous cozy feel to this beautifully designed hotel. Great 60s/70s aesthetic throughout drawing on the building's newspaper history, with lots of attention to detail. Room was much larger than expected, stylish and comfortable design, everything we could have needed and more! Impressed there was oat milk provided in the room as well as dairy. Breakfast was excellent quality and variety also. Bathroom was extremely nice, amazing floor tiles and shower was probably the best quality I've seen in a hotel. Lovely hotel-specific original artwork and Mad Men vibe throughout! NCP car park was about 2 mins walk away (£11.95 for our 24-hour stay).
