The location is excellent for us, as we have family living on Holyhead Road, making visits very convenient. The value for money is always appealing. The breakfast menu is good and very appealing. Coventry City Centre and Birmingham Airport are also conveniently located, whether you are driving or using public transportation. Despite being located on the bustling Holyhead Road, the traffic noise is barely perceptible when seated in the gardens or from the rooms at the side and rear of the property We have always found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly during our visits.

In room 34, and other rooms we've stayed in, the quilt didn't quite fit the cover, leaving a gap along one edge. We found the absence of hooks in the bathroom inconvenient for hanging towels and clothes while showering or changing. A full-length mirror in the room would be a welcome addition.

From the outside the hotel looks quite run down and I was a little sceptical. On entering the spacious reception and speaking with the very friendly knowledgeable staff this was eased. My room was spotless and spacious. Room to work at the desk and a table and chair by the window. the bed was comfy and It had a great shower. The bar had a decent section of drinks but the real ale was not ready to be poured. A good menu choice was available. Breakfast was taken in the restaurant, it was ok. I would stay again.

The TV in the room was quite small but adequate, no complimentary biscuit's. The bar should be better planned to have the real ale ready.

We had a superior room which was very spacious and well fitted out with a separate bath in a mezzanine and a walk-in shower. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very helpful.

The glass in the walk-in shower could be extended as it was nearly impossible to avoid water escaping. This is obviously a long term issue as there were signs of previous water damage to the carpet outside of the wet area. Nevertheless this did not effect our enjoyment of the room which was one of the better ones we have experienced in the UK

Dinner was good…(kitchen maintenance so closed early and limited menu…good job I arrived just in time as no advance warning on site. Menu choice was good enough) and served well. Hotel undergoing some refurbishment. Restaurant quiet and nice decorations and ambience. In keeping with period. Bar room had a quiz announcing a bit loud when needing to relax after a long day working. Overall ok. Service friendly and prompt. All staff smiled and obliging. Room was really warm when I arrived..always appreciated and V good in winter! Room needs some small maintenance just not checked as ..lamp bulb by mirror not working so provided hair drying in semi dark. Shower mixer works good but needs maintenance …small knob missing and collar loose, rain shower needs descaling ..but overall hot, good water strength; basin, toilet and shower clean and liquid shower soap good, soapy and no residues. Needs a tumbler in the bathroom! Taps qtr turn and modern with nice period style,, excellent large size towel rail and hot, dries towels quickly. White bath towels, good quality not rough. Toilet seat soft close, good! Water hot quick. Provided shower mat anti-slip and floor mat. Bed comfortable enough and quilt warm… mattress a bit soft but acceptable…no extra blanket but not needed as radiator on and heating good all night!! Slept well. Needs a 13amp plug on/by the bed table for convenience charging phone etc. The range of breakfast and full English was good, quality and quantity good and served as ordered and timing as needed. Not all at once! Needs the separate hotel entrance door opened for guests, so not having to bring luggage through the bar room…bit awkward. Booked through booking.com, paid on arrival etc at 112.50 inc breakfast. Good for Coventry. Good for in and out onto A45 Coventry bypass and into the NEC B’HAM exhibition too. Pleased I picked it. Overall value for money …is great…yes I would recommend…when refurbishment completed even better.

As above room needs little low level maintenance and final check to catch bulb gone. Nothing bad at all. Just advance notice of restaurant’s early closure as could have been awkward had I arrived a little later with no knowledge. Had to hastily get bags into room and order. Nice clean size ok..small TV not easy to watch due to position..but fresh smelling room, comfy.

Location is great, staff all lovely and friendly. Ideal having the pub as well, easy to book a table, main was beautiful and great value for money. Breakfast was amazing and so much of it ! They could possibly get away with smaller portions it was all lovely quality though 10/10 the lady serving was helpful, polite and friendly 🙂

Dessert, we ordered the walnut whip, unfortunately the marshmallow was like rubber, maybe half a nut on the top and half the biscuit base was missing. May be down to personal choice on this one. Our room had a window between the bathroom and bedroom which we both found very odd and did not like at all. The mattress was quite lumpy and springs sticking in us. We were however told its been taken over and changes are in progress and we still think it's very good value for money.

Basic but clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Spent 3 nights on business and would have had no problem staying longer. Not overloaded with facilities and WiFi a bit erratic, but rooms clean, decent bathroom, quiet, plenty of parking and a decent breakfast to boot. Very good value and well placed for south of Birmingham and Coventry city centre.

Actually not a lot. Not easy to get a decent night under £100 these days, and this was a find. Perhaps upgrade the WiFi but that’s about it.

Lovely room. We had a last minute extra person to the party, my daughter joined us as her dorm at Uni wasn't available yet and this trip was for us to drop her off. An extra bed was added but we had plenty of space in the room anyway.

Very bad downpour, water drops coming through a crack in the ceiling onto one of the beds. Mild problem but might need to be repaired for the future. We left an iPhone plug in the room by mistake with my daughter's name on it - went back a couple of hours later and it had not been found or reported by the cleaners. Cleaner wasn't available to confirm and we haven't heard back yet.

Excellent choice for breakfast, sets you up for the day well. No small portions here. Room was clean, comfortable, spacious, warm, nice bed, and a bath which I lke. They welcome dogs for only an extra £15 and there is a large area out the back where you can take them next to a field of horses. Dinners are excellent, a large range. Had an excellent steak one night and Pie of the Day was also very good. The staff are all very pleasant and super helpful. Atmosphere is relaxing.

Coffee at breakfast could be better.

We have stayed several times as we have family which live five minutes drive from the hotel, so the location is perfect for us. The Jacobean is always our first choice when we are visiting Coventry. This is a family owned business, which, for us, is an added bonus as like to support local businesses We like the facilities, the rooms have always been very comfortable & suited our needs Breakfast has always been very good, & we love the selection The grounds are comfortable & as the building is a 16th century farmhouse, it's full of traditional quirts The staff are very friendly & always welcoming On one visit, I contacted the hotel on the morning of our arrival & requested a change of room to a family instead of double as our circumstances had changed. I was extremely pleased & very grateful that the staff were more than happy to accommodate my request at short notice & even more surprised that I wasn't charged extra even though I was fully expected to be. My young grandchild, who stayed with us that night, enjoyed watching the ponies in the neighbouring field & loved breakfast 😀 Nearby transportion links are frequent for city centre & beyond

When staying over a weekend during the warmer seasons, it can be a little noisy in the evening if the room overlooks the garden where guests sit out or if there is a party. But it is a very minor issue

For the price this is a great place to stay. It is obviously not a 5 star hotel but for £80 for the night it was exactly what I was looking for. I have a limited budget for work and I have been looking for a clean, warm and friendly place to stay when I visit and this hotel is definitely that. Food was delicious as well.

The bed was so low and the mattress was thin. I felt like I was sleeping on a camping bed. It was fine for 1 night but it would not be suitable for a weeks stay for example. No plug sockets by the bed.
