Price good value for money. Hosting was excellent. Facilities were functional but tired in places Cleanliness was faultless The sleep quality was good. Bedding crisp & clean Slight road noise only considering it was on the busy A5 main road. Didn't really affect my sleep but I'm a light sleeper anyway. My wife didn't hear it. It may be different at warmer times when windows have to be left open, as our room had no A/C. The breakfast was good quality and well cooked. It is however a clear choice between hot food or continental (i.e. No cereal to be had with hot full English for example.) It's not a buffet style.

The car park has a few potholes and is not tarmacked

The bedroom was very clean, comfortable and decorated really nicely. The staff were absolutely lovely, they didn’t have eggs for the full English breakfast but compensated with extra bacon etc. They couldn’t have been more helpful and checked if everything was okay and if we needed anything else. They let us purchase a bottle of wine for a meal as they weren’t serving alcohol but we were assured that this was in the pipeline. They provided glasses and ice for my white wine.

Could have done with a sign prior to entry but maybe planning wouldn’t allow this. The sign was upon us when we turned and an aggressive lorry driver didn’t appreciate our quick left. One larger towel would’ve been handy but we had three smaller towels so it certainly wasn’t a problem for a one night stay.

This is a budget hotel a lot cheaper than any of the franchised budget offerings with more facilities and comfort. The staff were great, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was basic but I’m paying a basic price. The priorities were all there, clean room, on suite, kettle and tea making facilities, TV, WIFI, and free parking. I was traveling on a motorcycle and they allowed me to park next to the door for added security and piece of mind.

The only draw back no alcohol license and the pub was about a 15 minute walk away. Id rather keep the price than have a public bar.

The bed was comfortable and a good powerful fan helped during yhe heatwave. Room to hang clothes etc. Tv had access to log into Netflix and other services which was great. Yhe staff were very friendly and attentive and approachable

Very basic room. Bedside lights are USB rechargeable, luckily I had a wire yo do this. All the doors to rooms bang shut loudly and echo through hallway. And you can hear everyone talking in hall.

The property was quiet and very secure. I got back abit late and one cannot access unless passcode for entry. This was safe for me if I were to have children who wonderoff. I appreciated it. The bathroom was small so they need good work for it. I think it was in the room I was in. Though it’s of a busy road it was quiet at night. Beds very comfy. Shower needs explanation on how to work it. I guess you don’t change the settings. My bad I did.

The parking are needs working when it rains the drainage was not so good.

Perfect location straight off the A5. Well appointed room with good lighting, especially appreciated in desk area for working. Plenty of sockets by desk and bed specifically for charging electronic appliances. Comfy bed and good sized, spotless, en-suite wet room. Excellent breakfast and it was good to have it early enough for me on a Sunday before business commitments.

Very friendly welcome from Pav on our arrival, he showed us to our room and explained everything. In the morning when we went for breakfast Kerry was so accommodating and friendy too as we're the rest of the staff. We have been to a number of (upmarket hotels) and haven't received half as good service . If your looking for somewhere to stay at a very reasonable price then I can highly recommend The Watling Inn.

Can't think of anything we didn't like.

My stay was very pleasant and I had everything in the room, hairdryer, iron and board, tea/coffee and large TV with all channels and on-demand. Overall very clean and well worth the money.

I wasn't asked if I wanted breakfast when I arrived and forgot to ask but when I left there only appeared to be cereal on offer, I would have expected pastries and fruit. Appreciate, I didn't ask and may be wrong. There were a few cobwebs in the bathroom and under the desk.
