The pool and leisure facilities were good if a little crowded at times. Breakfast was plentiful and had a good selection for all tastes. The grounds were beautiful and well kept and there was ample parking space even on busy days. On our last day, the hottest so far, it was appreciated that an ice cream stall was set up. That same day the fire alarms went off and we were escorted outside calmly and without fuss and provided with water and chairs. Full marks to the staff for their response..

It is a shame that there was no aircon in the room. I realise that the weather recently has been extreme, but the one cooling unit supplied barely did a job of reducing the oppressive heat making it hard to sleep. I think in future the hotel businesses as a whole need to be able to offer adequate fans/aircon as this situation is only going to get worse. The bathroom could have done with better ventilation and the provision of air freshener. As a couple it was necessary to request a spare door key. As it is used to connect the electricity to the room it meant that if one of us went for a walk, for example, and the other wanted a rest, the room was 'turned off'. We were given a second key but this kept failing resulting in frustration all round.

Excellent leisure facilities and games room, which we made good use of throughout our stay. The staff were all very helpful and friendly in the leisure club and also at reception and in the restaurant. Restaurant menu was diverse and in general the food was very good - we stayed a week and I had something different every night, with more options to try if we'd stayed longer!

We would have liked the games room to have a dart board, but that's just our personal preference. It was quite a long walk from our room to the central facilities, so for anyone with mobility issues it would be worth asking for a room close by.

Liked that it had some grounds to walk around not in a busy city centre - and the leisure facilities were really good

Found that the housekeeping staff were really friendly and helpful - reception staff could have made it clearer for people with dogs to eat ( can’t eat in restaurant at breakfast with dogs) only to find out from current guest that you can eat in the bar area maybe they should advise this also - waiting staff both breakfast and evening need a refresher course on hospitality expectations and how to be more friendly and polite to customers in the hotel that are not part of a conference as they seemed to only cater to them .

Monday breakfast was excellent as were the staff on duty. However Tuesdays was very poor. Nothing being filled up no scrambled eggs told only done to order but there on Monday. 1 cold fried egg left and cold hash browns a couple of sausages few beans all of which were cold. 2 muffins 1 croissant and a couple of pancakes.we told lady member of staff on duty about it but she was surly and said you've to order scrambled eggs. Nothing was filled up and we were well within time limit for breakfast. Evening meal menu was limited with no regular British food on it but the staff were excellent as were all other members of staff throughout our stay. As there were no pubs or restaurants near we ate in the hotel in the evening. Room was good but bathroom tiny. We asked for a ground floor room and got one which we were pleased about.

Evening menu.choice. Attention to breakfast buffet when needs replenishing.

We had dinner which was good, breakfast had a lot of choice all in a huge buffet. Our room was ok, it did feel quite dark though? The window wasn't huge! This is a massive hotel and it holds a lot of corporate events. There were several going on while we were there.

For us it could have been made better if silly things like Water Glasses had been provided in the room, rather than asking for them from the bar and taking them with us to the room? And they could have taken more care with the Tea & Coffee tray by putting enough stuff in it, and it was hidden in the wardrobe! The beds were very firm, possibly new but I had trouble sleeping. But my husband was fine!!!

Beautiful grounds, lovely and clean throughout, rooms spacious beds comfy. Helpful to have fans in the room. We travelled as a family across 7 rooms, the pet rooms had treats and bowls set up for pets and the family rooms had treats for the children. The games room was an added bonus as was the tennis court. It was a shame the pool had such limited access for children but was great on the occasion we did get to use it. Breakfast was wonderful and varied catering for everyone. The staff were polite friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was located ideally for trips around the peaks.

Pillows could be better but I guess that’s a personal choice. More access across weekends for families to use the pool.

Lovely location, away from the busy city. The receptionist at the front desk was welcoming, friendly and respectful. I think her name was Sander. She had a lovely smile and served us well. Loved the surrounding environment of well kept gardens and trees. Our room was at a quiet location which we asked for. The restaurant food choices were great at breakfast time. The property was clean and well kept. The restaurant staff were observant and security conscious, when I left my bag on a chair during breakfast, they took my bag to the reception for safe keeping.

Our room toilet needed several flushes as system seemed old. There was no fridge to store our drinks and medicine. Our room had a musty smell which you notice when you first open the door to go in. The radiators were not working but we were given a heater when we asked for it. Could do with air conditioning units to regulate temperature. Could do with a refurbished lift. The hot drinks dispensers were slow to cope with the high demand for coffee, had to queue for some time for a drink whilst my food was getting cold.

Beautiful location. We walked the grounds, saw some wildlife and the oldest of trees and plenty of robins. Lovely and peaceful. The main property dates back to 1800s with further builds through the years. It is beautifully furnished and very well presented in the reception areas and throughout. Details a plenty. With courtyard seating and each table location having a blanket provided when the evenings turn cooler was a lovely detail. The rooms are excellent. Modern, comfortable and cool palettes with pictures denoting the history of the area. DH Lawrence featured in my room. Beautiful colour schemes. Very relaxing and all the comforts of home provided. Breakfast is excellent and highly recommended set in a clean, hygienic dining area and a varied menu of all things breakfast! The staff on each encounter were professional, polite, helpful and friendly. In fact they went above and beyond when we stayed at the hotel and ensured our stay was very comfortable. We were very happy with our stay at Eastwood Hall.

There is nothing not to like at this property. They have worked very hard to ensure the building, facilities as well as staff professionality is maintained to a high standard.

Breakfast Breakfast was enjoyable — a classic British spread. We asked for some cheese, and the waiter kindly brought it over, which was a nice touch. Room The room itself was good, though not particularly soundproof. Dinner Dinner was just okay. The highlight was our lovely waiter — she was very attentive and helpful.

Reception We requested a late checkout (just one extra hour), but were told the hotel was fully booked and no extensions were allowed. Interestingly, the day before, we overheard someone being granted a two-hour late checkout without issue. The receptionist didn’t even check the system before saying no, which makes me wonder — how are these decisions made? Based on availability, or based on who's asking?
