The property was clean and tidy. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. The morning breakfast had good options and a nice variety. The house was close to Chelmsford racecourse which was perfect for us as we were attending an event. We went on a lovely walk and stopped at a small but cute tearoom and a modern pub en route too!! There was lots of tea options, coffee, milk, filtered water along with a mini fridge in the room. This was a lovely touch. We stayed for two nights and the hosts came in and tidied our room and refreshed bits that needed refreshing. The hosts were extremely chatty, friendly and welcoming. It can be an extremely intrusive experience letting people in your home and your personal space and I think they manage it perfectly. Thanks very much to Stan and Trisha for making our weekend a relaxing, enjoyable and fun experience ☺️

The place is absolutely spotless. The room is beautiful and just perfect with good quality furniture and mattress. Good shower, fantastic lighting, coffee and tea facilities.... Etc.. WiFi works perfectly. Breakfast was incredible with good quality products and lots of choices. One can see the owners are doing this with love and do everything to make you feel comfortable. I booked about half an hour before arriving and that didn't stop the nice lady to prepare a room for me. They are really very kind!

Nothing! It's just perfect!

Booked for its close proximity to Stanstead as I had an early flight the next day. The couple that runs the place great you on arrival and are very lovely and make you feel instantly at ease. I was checked in and also shown how to use all the amenities and given some tips on local places to eat. Take their advice and go to the local pub for a Huffer! I was even able to charge my EV onsite at a very reasonable rate and I slept very well. One of my favourite home stays for a long time. I will be back again if I ever fly from Stanstead early doors!

The breakfast was not comparable to a home cooked breakfast, This is because it was a home cooked breakfast. served with love and care or each guest. It felt like visiting home. The location was fantastic the garden led me down to a field with breathtaking British countryside views. with a bonus hand made stream leading to a pond.

The room information was intense, it felt like i was back in army cadets. if we were staying for a month or two the information would have been justified. but i could tell the host was simply proud of his achievements, Rightly so.

What's not to like. Bedroom had blackout blind, very comfortable bed and underfloor heating for an excellent nights sleep. Great shower in wetroom. Quality tea, coffee, biscuits with fresh milk and filtered water in fridge. First class breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurt, muesli, croissant followed by cooked breakfast to order using locally sourced products with view through bi-fold doors of an amazing landscaped garden. I was travelling alone on business but would love to revisit with my wife for a relaxing break.

Another lovely stay at the Laurels following my first booking some time ago. Excellent breakfast and very friendly, welcoming hosts. Quiet location just outside Felsted. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely stay again.

Nothing to criticise. Everything of excellent quality with no areas where you might want to quibble. The owners clearly maintain top quality standards on an ongoing basis. Village location was also ideal for me.

Spotlessly clean, bright and spacious home. Delightful gardens and outside space. Nothing was lacking in any way. Breakfast excellent.

The hosts were quite wary at first and extremely particular, which wasn't terribly relaxing. However, when they realised I was very respectful of their lovely home they were 'softer' and pleasant company.

I'm not a fan of wet-room showers, especially when the room is a bit cramped, as the water tends to go everywhere. Perhaps that's the reason for having no toilet roll holder and keeping the rolls in a cupboard - it felt a bit odd. Also, I can't remember the last place I stayed that didn't provide shampoo, only body wash.

Comfortable, modern and clean. Great shower. Hosts were helpful and welcoming. Their cat is a real cutie and also gave a warm welcome.

The only thing that stoped me scoring a 10/10 was that I would have liked one more tea bag. I do love my tea but there were only two. That said, if you are less fussy than me there was an abundance of other varieties such as fruit teas.

The house & room I was in along with the bathroom was decorated to an exceptionally high standard. The bed was so comfy & the place is spotless. The breakfast was amazing & the hosts were so lovely & accommodating. This property is better than any 4 star hotel I’ve stayed in. I’d give them 20 out of 10!!
