It's a beautiful boutique hotel with amazing spa facilities. We stayed at the couch house that had an outdoor bath, which was a highlight of our stay. Both the hotel and spa were spotlessly clean and we had an amazing time. The hotel isn't big so it never felt overcrowded, which was especially appreciated in the spa. I can definitely recommend it for a romantic getaway.

Food wasn't our cup of tea (too posh). It was lovely but overpriced and super tiny portions. We were hungry after dinner.

Hotel definitely exceeded my expectations! From the very beginning, from the reception, first impression: "wow". Suite with two bath: again "wow" very big (two floors - big room with big bed, toilet, outside 2 big baths with heating above, upstairs beautiful "leaving room" with nice bathroom, room very cosy and very stylish! Spa amazing, some moments very busy, but when is less people is perfect! Restaurant is beautiful, food beautiful as well, but for me slightly overpriced, good but not amazing, for me taste 8/10. Generally everything looks even better than on the pictures! Definitely worth to visit!

This is the prettiest hotel we've ever had the pleasure of staying in! It was a totally immersive experience, from the moment we arrived, every member of staff was so helpful, friendly and down to earth. The reception staff were more than happy to tell me about the history of the building, and even have us a pack that explained the buildings story, they have a pack ready to share with anyone interested in the history! The smallest details make this place special, from the hotel newspaper, to the bespoke chocolate bar in your room every day, the locally distilled gin in the bar, the board games that are free to borrow and the drinks station in the spa. The spa is as breathtaking, the pool area is even better than the pictures online, and we hadn't realised until we got there that they have a thermal experience included too - sauna, steam room, ice and an experience shower - my highlight was the indoor/outdoor hot tub though - absolute bliss!

The only small thing that would have made this better would be having a range of sizes available in the spa robes. They're one size and were a little small for me, I checked with reception and they confirmed there is only one size, but they were super friendly about it and said they'd pass on my comments which I appreciated!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was quite nice and clean. The food was fairly tasty and had a good variety. Overall, a pleasant stay!

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the spa. The staff there were irresponsible and unprofessional, which really ruined part of our vacation. The massage was far from relaxing or professional – it felt poorly done and uncomfortable. We were especially disappointed considering the high price we paid. Sadly, we cannot recommend the spa at all. Very unprofessional experience.

We were truly captivated by the grandeur of the building—it was simply breathtaking. The interior of the manor was equally stunning, exuding elegance and charm in every detail. Our room was beautifully appointed, offering both comfort and luxury. The spa provided a serene and unique experience, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere. Everything felt surreal in its beauty, making it the perfect destination for a romantic getaway with your partner.

While our stay was overall enjoyable, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. The bed was extremely uncomfortable—honestly, we’ve had better rest on camping beds. The mattress felt cheap and overly springy, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Additionally, we found the staff to be a little distant at times, which slightly took away from the warm and welcoming atmosphere we had hoped for. Another issue was that the drinks from the night before hadn’t been cleared away in the hot tub area by the following day, which detracted from the otherwise serene spa experience.

I have stayed and eaten at The Elms numerous times and each experience has been excellent! The staff are welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The hotel is just stunning with amazing decor and an eye for outstanding detail, which makes the whole hotel unique. The spa is so relaxing and like a haven away from everything!! The treatments are 'the icing on the cake'. The food is wonderful, both in presentation and taste and a huge range of options.

I'd write the only tiny tiny negative is that when having room service that a few items such as condiments/butter/drinks etc. are missed and need to be re-asked for, but honestly, it's not even a negative!

after spending a large sum of money on the suite for my best friends birthday i was then greeted with the bill for breakfast after being told i had it included which completely put a downer on the stay as we could have made use of the spa

We stayed here after our wedding and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel is absolutely stunning! Beautiful restaurant, lounge area and grounds. The spa is aesthetically stunning too with the greenery. The staff were fabulous and extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a selection of starters on the evening and they were delicious- we wished we had had dinner! We stayed in one of the cottages and was blown away by the room and loved the outdoor baths! They really thought of everything down to the little touches like in the ladies changing rooms in the spa! On arrival we were greeted with bubbles and chocolates which was a lovey touch for our special day. Fabulous, memorable stay! We will definitely be returning. Thank you making the end to our special day perfect!

Just a suggestion, it might be nice to have some sun lounger type beds around the pool so guests can lie down and relax.

It’s quiet, gym is well equipped, the spa is comfortable and has a heated indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Along with massages and other treatments. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beautifully and rustically decorated.

Some light bulbs weren’t working in the room. The tv didn’t have any channels and we could only stream. Good could have been a bit better. Would’ve liked the spa to have an adults only section, or a time just for adults. There were plenty of kids in the pool.

Lunch was good we enjoyed the ambience in the dining area. Breakfast was very good, although the waitress forgot to put our order in therefore we had to wait nearly a hour! It was worth the wait though. Spa was great & the treatments we received excellent. Would highly recommend. Bathroom great size.

Although the room was very good it was a bit tired & could do with a freshen up ie the paintwork especially in the bathroom. The silicone needs attention as well as the grout in the tiles nothing worse than old stained bathroom. For the price of the room not great value no breakfast included.
