Lovely traditional inn situated in the centre of Hebden Bridge. Ideal for gigs at the Trades Club. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed with all comforts. Nice to have individual soaps etc. not just generic body wash. The food is great- we had an evening meal in the bar which is very busy indeed with diners, a good sign. In the morning, we had a superb full English breakfast served at our table, not a buffet. Only one small gripe, the shower was a bit temperamental probably because lots of people were using hot water at the same time?

Lovely, old pub accommodation in the very centre of Hebden Bridge. Everything on the doorstep. Great reception from the Manager on arrival. Personally shown to our room and even asked if we needed help with our bags. A very nice touch. Our room (No.4) in the main building was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was spacious and had a roll top bath and shower. Parking on site, albeit limited was a plus. We were lucky and found a space immediately we arrived. Could be a problem in busier times of the year but other options close by. We did not eat at the White Lion in the evening however we did have Breakfast. My wife had the full traditional English Breakfast. I had the White Lion English Breakfast which is effectively a larger portion of the traditional. Excellent quality products. Good service from the two young ladies who took care of us. I doubt you will find better accommodation in the centre of Hebden Bridge. Highly Recommended based on our experience.

Not a complaint nor a major issue but a point to note. The water flow on the shower was ok but not great. This is probably a water pressure issue in the old building. The water flow on Bath and sink were fine. May be worth the management checking the shower to see if improvement to flow can be made.

The White Lion is a lovely old property on the banks of the river and only 5 minutes walk from the town centre and The Trades Club. Our room, no 7 was in the courtyard with its own private entrance and was very nicely decorated and furnished. We particularly liked the little vestibule for hanging up coats, the very well-stocked basket of teas, coffees, milks and biscuits, the big fluffy towels and free toiletries, and the low, soft but very comfortable bed. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and there was a good range of options for breakfast, all very well cooked. A lovely place that we will definitely return to if we go to The Trades Club again.

Nothing. But the car park is small so take the advice of the owners and try and arrive between 11 and 3pm.

Room was lovely, excellent double glazing stopped traffic noise. Lovely comfortable bed & refurbished bathroom Breakfast choices and quality one of the best we have had. The sausages are exceptional!! Location is perfect, right in the town centre. The staff were just lovely, very friendly and helpful.

Shower cap in the bathroom would be useful as it only has an overhead shower Would have loved to eat there in the evening but menu choices were not for us. Parking a bit challenging with a big car

Bedroom and ensuite shower room exceeded expectations and were obviously newly updated/refurbed. Especially loved the Neom essential oil device that scented and humidified the room. This created a very welcoming atmosphere! Food in the pub at both dinner and breakfast was great. Fab location for exploring Hebden Bridge. White Lion would be our first choice for future stays in HB.

Only a very tiny car park at pub and not so easy to park elsewhere in village, but this is to be expected in such a quaint cobbled village, and to be fair the public transport links are great.

Staff all really lovely and super helpful. Lovely, spacious room with exceptionally comfortable bed and bedding. Great shower and big, thick fluffy towels.

Could hear music from nearby building at night and from 8am Sunday morning (appreciate The White Lion can't do anything about this). It's a 400-year-old building, which means the floors creak a lot! We could clearly hear people in nearby rooms move about, which kept us awake; again, appreciate there's not much that can be done about that, but it's worth noting if you're a light sleeper.

At 4.45am a man and a woman turned up outside our bedroom window and commenced to tip large quantities of empty bottles from one rubbish bin to another all while talking in normal level voices and then wheeled a number of large rubbish bins backwards and forwards across the cobblestones for about 15 mins ,making a ridiculous amount of noise and ensuring the nights sleep was well and truly over. We spoke to other guests who were woken by the same activity.The hotel seriously needs to do something about that activity at 4.45am if they want guests to stay there.

Exceptional from start to finish. Greated at reception by a very friendly young lady. I explained we were here to attend a wedding at three o'clock and was there any posibility we could have our room early to freshen up and get changed. She thought it should be possible but just needed to check with housekeeping. After a few minutes she returned with a positive answer. Our room was brilliant, clean, fresh and spacious. The en-suit was large and well laid out with plenty of shampoo etc., the bed was super soft and extremely comfortable. The room was very quiet and we had an excellent nights sleep. The breakfast was fantastic, fresh, hot. plentiful and tasty. We will certainly wish to stay here again and next time for longer.

Nothing not to like

This is a first class establishment, with exceptional breakfasts including a large pot of good tea, a reassuringly small supper menu expertly cooked, superb beers well kept, a most comfortable room with bath, shower and lovely easy chairs, and its location is ideal. And yet its prices are modest for the wonderful stay it offers. I would definitely like to return.

Staff so friendly and pub us so historic and beautifully placed. The room was very nicely furnished and even had a large bath and luxurious toiletries. Breakfast was great and parking (arrive early) was at the back of the pub. Super dog-friendly and hearty breakfast. Hebden Bridge is delightful.

Simply that room 1 was right on the busy main road and level with the pavement. Sleeping was hard. Would have loved one of the annexe rooms. If we come again, I will ask. Sat navs take you to a pedestrian only zone. We got lost but quick call to lovely, helpful, friendly staff and they directed us.
