We were welcomed by lovely staff and owners and even though we arrived earlier than anticipated, there was no problem. Unfortunately, some of what we wanted to eat was off the menu but in fairness there were plenty of other choices. The small meal that I ordered was plenty and delicious as were the breakfasts we ate. The chef did a great job. The beds were really comfortable and although there was not a great deal of space to move around in we were still happy with it.

We were slightly disappointed with not having a bathroom in our room but in saying that, we did have a wash basin for handwashing and swilling our cups and filling our kettle up. There could also have been a mirror over the basin in the bathroom for men who shaved as it was a little awkward for my husband to use the basin in the room and maybe another rail for wet towels.

Staff are lovely and friendly, and good bacon butties. Really handy for us as we were attending a wedding nearby and we could have a couple of drinks downstairs whilst we waited for our lift The rooms are decorated lovely. Lovely and clean. Handy location Let us check in early too to get ready

If you book the twin room, you have to travel down the corridor for the bathroom - not a massive issue just one to be aware of :) I did find the pillows quite uncomfortable but the bed was lovely

The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and very clean, and the staff members were very friendly and accommodating. A good full English breakfast was included in the price. Our group was composed of three couples plus a baby and the three bedrooms in this country pub were ideal for our purposes. Two of the rooms had kingsize beds and en-suites, while the third room had twin beds with its bathroom for sole use just along the landing. We ate in the pub the first night and the food was good. We were attending a wedding at Dewsall Court and the pub was just over two miles away, so great location. (BEWARE: if going to Dewsall Court, best take the route along the B4348 which goes over the level crossing and then take first left. Our satnav told us to turn left further along the road and that route went down a narrow road which became a very rough track with nowhere to turn.)

Very minor point - the bedroom door hinges needed oiling as they creaked loudly.

Great pub with accommodation. Decor is a bit tired but everything else great. Staff were all lovely and very helpful. Food is pub grub and tasty. Breakfast cooked, to order and very tasty. Room comfy and good size with chair and tea and coffee with biscuits. TV on small size but wasn't there to watch TV. Great value, and on bus route into Hereford or Abergavenny. Highly recommend.

I had separate shower and toilet from room, only a minor detail. Other rooms were en suite.

They were very accommodating, we had to have an earlier check in for a wedding we were attending and it was no problem at all. I thought the room was decent, big sized bathroom, fluffy pillows and duvet.

The shower wasn't very powerful, but I'm just being picky. The breakfast was fine, my husband could have done with a bigger portion. However, we're both vegan and they didn't find it a problem at all. I called ahead of time and they had soya milk ready for us, and a vegan brekkie.

The room was clean and the bedlinen and towels were clean and of excellent quality. The location was perfect for us - as we wanted to visit the Golden Valley, Hereford and the three castles. We stayed for 2 nights and ate two excellent evening meals at the pub. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a basic but filling breakfast. Excellent value for money.

One annoying problem was the sound of the kitchen fan outside the bedroom window. Luckily it switched off when cooking finished.

We had a warm, comfortable stay on one of the coldest days of the season. The staff were friendly and my gluten free diet was well catered for. It was a peaceful location. Spotlessly clean.

As noted by other travellers, the double room had no en-suite. By ‘private bathroom’ it means a short walk down the corridor. There was no shower gel/ shampoo in the bathroom though hand soap was provided.

Staff were very friendly, helpful, and kind. My wife developed flu on Sunday evening, and couldn't get out of bed on Monday morning - the lady in the kitchen gave me toast and cereal to take to my wife for her to eat in bed. Staff went out of their way to help us. Sunday lunch was superb - the roast beef was beautifully cooked, and all of the vegetables were perfect - highly recommended. The pub had a good selection of real ale.

The bed was slightly uncomfortable, but didn't disturb our sleep too much.

Cosy friendly pub , accommodation was great even with my bathroom being down the hall . No problem . Bed comfortable with crisp clean linen . Both dinner and breakfast very good quality and value . Staff obliged me by finding an iron and ironing board which was kind and great relief .Can’t turn up crumpled to wedding!!

Only that a nightcap on Saturday night on returning at 10.45 would have been splendid but bar was closed .

Very good restaurant,, good variety of food, beers etc. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. A traditional pub with a good double room and clean , modern bathroom. Good parking outside and an excellent petrol station / convenience store nearby. Recommend to anyone wishing a location away from urban areas.
