I stayed as a solo traveller for the keilder night marathon. Keilder forest is close by and the venue is excellent for being able to access your room late after a trip to the observatory. The room was clean and well presented. There was a code to get into your room which was great as didn't need to worry about lost keys. Kettle and tea/coffee in room with complementary biscuits was a nice touch. There was a kitchen that could be used to make food which was comfortable and well equipt. Location was great with nice views from the room. A very quiet and tranquil site with picnic tables to sit out in the sun. There is a fascinating history behind the accomodation which is nicely displayed in the guest book. They also give lots of helpful information.

The whole experience at Brown Rigg was excellent. It far exceeded our expectations. The communal kitchen was very clean and it felt safe to leave our bits in the fridge with others thigs to. Our room was very clean and comfortable and it was very quiet round about and set off the main road so felt very safe as well especially if you had kids. Nice to see the sheep in the firlds as well. Just out of the vvillage but walkable distance if you like. The village has some interesting buildings and a very good Heritage Centre giving alot of local information

No tea towel in the kitchen other than that everything was excellent.

This is a fantastic place to stay, my room was comfortable, clean and far more comfortable than I expected. I loved the kitchen facility which was far better than I expected and had everything I needed. Spotless! Lovely to meet other people in the kitchen area too. My dog also really enjoyed the two enclosed fields!

Only a suggestion but it would have been great to have a little cabinet or table in the bathroom to place items on, but this was not a real problem

Clean, roomy, really great facilities (kitchen was super helpful). Really friendly staff and nice to see the history of the place. Played some table tennis in the games hall which was fun! The room was cosy and had everything you could possibly need. It’s a convenient link for other areas close by.

The shutters on the window were great but the green light in the room all night was a little annoying - I think this may have been a safety thing though. Not a con for the stay, but please take a torch! It is extremely dark at night. We left our electric car on charge at the village hall so took a walk back to get it, and without a torch on it is not possible to see at all!! There are no street lights in this area.

The room was clean and tidy, and had all amenities that you would need. Everything was done to a good standard and I was every impressed for the price.

Only down side were the others who were staying there were very loud, especially later at night, and were treating the shared kitchen as their own, despite signs saying to not socialise in the kitchen area. Not a fault of the staff at all, but the rudeness of others.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the lady owner who was extremely friendly, helpful and informative. The rooms were extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, as was the communal kitchen which we used the morning of our stay. After a long and dirty day in the saddle the showers were hot and very welcome. We were riding the Sandstone Way mountain bike route and this absolute gem was a few yards from it....there was excellent bike storage which even had electric sockets for anyone with an e-bike to charge their bikes overnight.

Staff were lovely and accommodating, there was a little book with the family story of purchasing the property and I thought that was really cute. Our stay was lovely, the place was clean and the area where we stayed was lovely. I don't usually like intensive check ins, but meeting the staff and getting the run down on how things worked was really nice.

Location was a little confusing to find.

We loved the location and whilst there went to Keilder Water where we cycled around the water and with the help of the RSPB saw ospreys. This place had everything we needed to self cater and we enjoyed one meal from the Indian place in Belingham which we ate on the tables outside. Coop in the village was useful. Beautiful countryside around. A great 2 night stay.

Very clean, comfortable bed, large bedroom and en suite bathroom, great shower. Kettle, tea/coffee and biscuits provided. Shared kitchen also clean and spacious. Welcoming and helpful staff. We had a very comfortable stay. It was great to stay somewhere that felt like a nice hotel room but with access to a self catering kitchen as well.

The continental breakfast delivered to our door each morning was great value, had a good range of contents, and was ideal for people like ourselves on a walking trip. Additional advantage of the use of a well appointed kitchen where you could prepare an evening meal if you chose to. Plenty of parking and walking distance from Bellingham.
