Everything about this place was perfect for a restful and restorative night’s sleep in the middle of our hike along Hadrian’s Wall. Good quality warming food in a toasty friendly pub with blazing fires. Lovely helpful staff. Comfy beds in warm, clean, cheery rooms with good showers. (Excellent beer brewed onsite for rehydration purposes!) Delicious filling breakfast included to set us off again on our walking trip. I’m definitely planning to return! The excellent Sill next door also added to the experience.

Although the rest of our food was great, one member of our party ordered a pizza which arrived very burnt and inedible the first time and had to be sent back to the kitchen.

We arrived a little early for our table booking and the staff very kindly shuffled tables so we could sit down. The food was lovely the steak and ale pie was a tad salty but still ok. The room was small but adequate and clean. Room was very warm but they had provided a fan.

The shower room blind had been removed and so felt a little exposed we had to shower in the Dark. The bacon & hash browns on the breakfast were a bit overcooked and even 40 mins before the breakfast end there was hardly any choice of cereal and I assume pastries were all gone.

Staff went above and beyond with special mention to Judith who’s an Amazonian of a woman and carried both our heavy bags upstairs My friend arrive very early as was injured and unable to continue walk and they let her check in to room very early 11ish I liked that although busy they ensured that there all hotel guests were accommodated for dinner Handy for bus if need transport Very handy for wall walkers Breakfast good

We loved our stay at The Twice Brewed Inn. As soon as we got there someone helped us with our bags. We knew our room would be basic by the website pics, but it had everything we needed we could see parts of Hadrian's wall from our room window. We had a great seat at dinner with a view of the garden and the Roman Soldier. The food was delish we tried some local recommended dishes. After dinner we ventured to the classic bar area and tried the Twice Brewed Lager and Gin which was also very nice. It was rainy so missed the stars, but it was still an enjoyable night. The next day was started with a beautiful breakfast, and some recommend local sites by the friendly team members to visit on our way to Edinburgh via Hadrian's Wall. This epic part of the world has so much to offer we said we would be back and will tell

We loved it. Although it was a little hard to find, we turned off to early and drove through the village. The Sat Nav told us to go back across the highway where we saw a sign to Once Brewed. So we followed that and ended up next door. We must have come in the back way. It was very scenic Maybe more signage for lost Australians 🦘

Room was tiny, double bed right against window /wall. Steps down to bathroom which was larger than expected when room size considered. Food was a mixed bag, we ate evening meal in pub, my main off the specials board was excellent, my husband’s pie, disappointing. Waiting staff at breakfast rude, told us off for sitting at a table (we waited at the entrance for 5 mins to be seated but no sign of anyone) because apparently we were reserved on a table elsewhere in the restaurant. This was near end of breakfast time and there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant! By contrast, lovely friendly lady in the brewery shop!

If you are hiking Hadrians Wall, this is the place to stop or stay. Great location, great food, great ale. Staff are really friendly and one can see that they like working there. A great place to observe the stars at night and once the bar closes at night you fell remote.

Hard to think of anything negative. If you afford to stay; worth the price. It could stretch you budget. Other hotels might offer more for the same price. More a point of advice rather than criticism. Location makes it special.

Proximity to Hadrian’s Wall Bedroom - modern, well equipped, free bottled water everyday, lovely white fluffy towels inc a large bath towel Friendliness and helpfulness of staff - nothing was too much trouble. Exceptional in all respects

The menu for the evening meal lacked fresh vegetables and a salad option. I was however given a salad when I asked for one- no problem

The staff, the location, the food and beverages, the service were all very good. The person in the taproom & shop was both knowledgeable and helpful.

The steps inside the room were unexpected. A little more room around the bed would have been nice. Surprisingly for November, we were very warm and had to use the supplied fan to keep cool enough to be comfortable

Lovely pub perfect for a night whilst walking the Hadrian’s wall. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, dinner was good with a great range of options. A table was reserved for the whole evening for us as we were staying the night and a good breakfast included in the price (continental and cooked options available). Good toiletries provided in the bathroom and a great shower, which was really welcome after a long day of walking. Lovely pub really geared up for walkers.

The room and bathroom was a little on the small side but okay for a night.

The pub has great staff and the food is fabulous. Will definitely be back.

The room we were originally assigned was lovely, with a fantastic view of the Northumbrian countryside, but unfortunately, the bathroom of the room next door was directly against the bed wall. The plumbing was extremely noisy and disturbing. However, the manager was quite happy to move us into another available room when we explained the problem.
