Decorated tastefully, very clean. Rooms had everything we needed, tea, coffee, water etc. the bedding and towels were pristine. Bathroom was lovely. Staff were very friendly and the place was welcoming. Food was very good. We had pie of the day. Located in a great spot if you like walking or a stop off to tour further North otherwise nothing to do there.
The bed was small, my hubbys feet stuck out the bottom of the bed and wasn’t a comfy nights sleep. Woke up both days with back ache. Pillows were so uncomfortable aswell. In the pub area the chairs were really hard so unless you grabbed a bench table, you suffered. There’s also a service charge which we weren’t told about but this was removed when we asked. Points mentioned weren’t a deal breaker but worth pointing out.

Came here after walking along Hadrian's Wall. Really impressed. Thought it was the best value place that I stayed. Room is comfortable for after a long day walking and the pub downstairs is friendly. Breakfast is included with the rate, which seems to be increasingly rare these days, and is probably what I would have expected – and rarely get – after having been asked to pay elsewhere. I arrived late, after the kitchen had closed, and the staff were kind enough to make me and my partner a sandwich and a salad from the kitchen which were delicious. Location is great, right along the trail, and I would recommend to anyone to stay here! Very pleased!

Excellent hotel with all you need for a good nights rest. The beds were very comfortable with great quality bedding and towels. The breakfast was quality and served fresh and hot, I would recommend the full English.Would definitely highly recommend.
We was walking Hadrians wall starting in Carlisle and unfortunately missed the Sunday roast which I was able told was excellent as it stops cooking at 8.00 pm so crisps and nuts at the bar after walking 30 odd miles. Not a dislike as bar had a great selection of beers.

We stayed at the Greenhead Hotel as part of our Hadrian's Wall Trail adventure walk. It was ideally situated just within walking distant of the trail. Our room was beautiful, really clean, bright and airy. It was expensive but it really lived up to its price point. The staff were just so friendly and the food was amazing. We both said, best breakfast of the week. It was lovely after a day of walking to relax in the sunshine in their garden at the back.

The room was beautiful and the view was lovely. The receptionist stayed late for us to check in which was super thoughtful and kind.
The carpet looked quite worn and kind of gross. The bathroom tap exploded water everywhere if you turned it the wrong way, which we did several times🤦🏼♀️. Also the amount we paid seemed very high. The night before we had paid a little less and stayed in a five star hotel that was incredibly nice and clean. I also sat on the end of the twin bed my daughter slept in and the whole bed collapsed. All the bordes bracing the mattress had come off the rail so we had to put the bed back together.

Hotel is in a good location, especially for walking or visiting Hadrian's Wall. Some of our group arrived early and were immediately made most welcome. The rooms were large and had very good facilities for walkers, with many drying facilities. The public rooms were very good and welcoming to dogs. The evening meal was high quality and included some unusual items on the menu. The breakfast was cooked to order and was good.
Although the cooked breakfast was good, other elements - juice etc were disappointing.

After hiking all day, we arrived at the hotel just before 10pm, when the kitchen had already closed. And still the lovely lady at the reception organized for the most amazing sandwiches to be prepared, which were such a delight after a long day. Our dog was very happy to receive a welcome pack including a ball and treats. The room itself was gorgeous and so spacious, as was the bathroom with the big bathtub. The breakfast was delicious and so beautifully arranged, our children especially loved the waffles. All staff was very friendly and we can't wait to be back.

Super friendly staff and I was upgraded when I arrived which was really lovely. The room was beautiful and the chocolates were a nice touch. The breakfast was soooo tasty and the waitress was really lovely and helpful (she also had great taste in music!). I'll definitely come back with the family and our dog for a longer stay.
Nothing, it was a perfect place to stay and I'd highly recommend.

I can now understand why the hotel was a little bit on the pricier side compared to the others we stayed in along the Hadrian’s Wall Path. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us with late dinners and packed lunches for next day. The food was delicious. It’s the most dog friendly hotel we’ve ever stayed in - with full dog washing facilities, dog towels, and doggy welcome packs. The hotel is lovely and cozy inside. Convenient location for the path and also road. We’ll be back without our rucksacks one day!

This is lovely hotel and I would stay there again. Our room was lovely as we had a large room with 3 single beds. O We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal, with great food with an vegan option which was over price but everything else for our stay was great the breakfast, room, pack lunch was wonderful and good value.
One bed was a slated bed that collapsed and we managed to put back together. We would of called the manager but we were walking Hadrian's Wall and were so tired. One bed mattress was really well used as it dipped in the middle, but again so tired I did sleep well. The bedside table leg was broken and there was damp in the room. For our evening meal I had the vegan option which was a cauliflower dish with rice, taste lovely but at £18 was very over price.
