After a long day on the trail the kind barman carried my bag upstairs. There was a table ready for tea and breakfast time was arranged whilst serving us the evening meal. Efficiency at its best. My Dad is a real ale drinker and this passed muster. He didn't have to get up once to get a refill. Although the dogs weren't allowed in the rooms overnight, they were welcomed in the bar in the evening and had water presented to them. They also had a pack of cards behind the bar. Breakfast was awesome, filled us up nicely for the next days walking. We wanted to stay another night but couldn't cancel our other accommodation without being charged. Would definitely stay again when we are in the area.
Nothing.

My parents stayed while visiting us in Hallbankgate and wanted to put on the following: We stayed here for 4 nights 12 - 16 July and it was perfect. Alyson, Stephen and their staff were friendly, efficient and more than helpful. An extra chair was requested for our room and it was provided within minutes. The room had everything necessary and was spotless. The food was excellent, superb breakfast choice. Dinner for 6 was served promptly and with a smile and some friendly chat. The steak pie has to have a special mention, fabulous melt in the mouth pastry, tender steak pieces and a great gravy. There was always a welcome when leaving of a morning and coming back in the evening, interest in how your day had been. The pub is a local and had a cheerful atmosphere each evening. The apple cider is well recommended. Old fashioned in a very homely way. Not the Ritz.... just better in every way that matters. Any minor negatives are inconsequential.
Nothing at all!

Alyson and Steve are excellent hosts. The Belted Will is an ideal base or stopping-off point for walkers, cyclists and pretty much any travellers passing through this area. There is a great community vibe to the pub, and the freshly-prepared meals are delicious too. I've stayed here several times and will continue to do so as I cannot praise the team here enough. Thanks all and look forward to seeing you next time

We stayed at The Belted Will Inn on the way up from London to Scotland and on the way back. Absolutely loved it - super friendly staff, the rooms were lovely plus clean and the bar/restaurant is excellent. Great meals in good portions at fair prices. Our family all enjoyed staying here and the surrounding area is very peaceful. Easy parking too. This will be our regular overnight stop driving up to Scotland!
Nothing!

The location is excellent and there are places to visit and things to do in all directions. Just off the A69 it is a quiet and convenient location with sufficient parking The hospitality is excellent. The owners very friendly and welcoming and everyone who served us was friendly too. The breakfast is good, with a good choice, and the evening menu varied with a good specials board.
There was nothing to dislike.

Parking is private for 10 cars or so opposite the pub. Our room was small but nicely furnished, tea coffee, small TV, good WiFi and immaculately clean. All you need for a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was an excellent choice of vegetarian, full or lighter English breakfast, scrambled eggs, salmon on toasted bread, cereals, fruit and yoghurt. Fruit juice, tea or coffee and more toast available. All tasty, well prepared and served in a very friendly efficient way. There is a good menu choice from the usual pub favourites to slightly different choices on a similar theme. My fish theme, fried cod, scampi and battered prawns with home made chips and vegetables. Really tasty, well priced and again served in a very friendly efficient way. Overall a great village pub. Friendly main bar, side room restaurant to enjoy food with a lovely atmosphere.
all good

The location was ideal for our purposes, having set off from Bowness On Solway for a weeks cycle trip this was our first stop, The owners and staff could not have been more helpful or considerate to our needs, The evening meal and breakfast were superb, well cooked and ample portions a good choice of beer and Guinness, If you are in this area this is the place to stay.

From my warm and friendly greeting upon my arrival to the excellent tasty breakfast, my stay was perfect. The room was perfectly clean and the shower was lovely. The room was so quiet and there was no outdoor noise. The breakfast in particular is worth a mention - high quality bacon and sausages, fluffy scrambled eggs and the whole meal served piping hot as it was cooked to order. Alison was so friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive.
There is nothing that could have been improved. It was exactly what I needed and more.

Fantastic big breakfast with good quality local ingredients. Friendly staff in a tranquil location near to Hadrians Wall. Very good value and rooms were spotless with proper cups, kettle, biscuits and bottled water. Well stocked bar and good food.
Location is remote and not much within walking distance. The village has no shops or amenities but is very well kept. The property only opens at 17:00 so cannot check in until then but is well supported by locals.

We received a very warm welcome indeed. The staff were all delightful. The locals in the bar were also very friendly. Dinner was surprisingly good with a super choice and excellent portion size. Breakfast was delicious and once again there was a great choice. The room and bathroom were a good size and all was spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend.
The only slight grumble was that the double bed in the family room was exceedingly firm. Some might like it but we are both slim and a mattress topper would have been appreciated!
