Very dog friendly throughout the hotel - dogs were allowed in restuarant and bar. We were made to feel very welcome. Bed was very comfortable and food was excellent. Will definately stay again and recommend to friends and family if they need a stop over in that area.

Nothing really, however, tea, milk etc had not been replensihed in the room on our first stay following previous guests (or someone had been in to take them - room was unlocked when we arrived). This was a small issue and didn't detract from our pleasant and enjoyable stay. Small milk jugs at breakfast might also be helpful :-)

The staff were very welcoming and informative. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. The bed was super comfy and I slept really well. Dinner was delicious, well presented. Breakfast was super, freshly cooked and lots of it. I love the location of the hotel, its a great place for exploring the area. Great staff in the bar and a delicious cocktail was had! Overall great value for money 😄

My only complaint would be the floor in the en suite really needed a good thorough clean and I felt the bedroom needed a bit more light for doing your hair etc

A little gem, just off the motorway near Carlisle, easy to find and quiet. We were greeted by two lovely staff behind the bar who gave us all the details needed for our stay and directions to our room. There was a lovely fire in the pub to warm us after out 6 hour travel. Our room was warm, comfortable and pleasant. We booked a table at the restaurant and we were escorted on time. The food we ordered was delicious. We had breakfast included in our stay. The breakfast menu had plenty of choice and included continental. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. If you’re looking for a lovely little pub with rooms, then you’ve found it!

Basically an Inn with letting rooms. The property had ample parking and the rooms were clean and very well presented. The overall decor was country/rustic and had separate dining rooms/ breakfast rooms/ bar and it really worked. My only comment would be some paintwork could be tidied up a little. We ate in the restaurant and the food ( sirloin on the bone) was exceptional. Waiting staff were polite and attentive. Breakfast included in the tariff was everything you could have wished for.

Some of the patrons in the bar were a little loud ! - Not a criticism!

Room lovely, though had a slightly unfinished appearance with poorly fitted items like the loose looroll holder in the end suite, and the lack of a small shelf unit in the shower cubicle for holding bottles of soap/shampoo etc and the missing hook on the back of the unsuited door. The weather was roasting air-conditioning would have been great!!

Food was disappointing with overcooked pastry with the steak pie , undercooked broccoli and a really weird Cumberland sausage! The dessert was good. Breakfast was excellent and well presented

Friendly pub ,really nice big room with an enormous comfortable bed, the room is getting a bit tired but that said nothing to put us off in any way , This is the most dog friendly place I have ever stayed in, open all areas to our dog , even found a path down to a vast open field where she had a good run . The restaurant was lovely, and I had the best haddock and chips I've had in a very long while. The breakfast was excellent, hot and freshly cooked, and a good choice We will definitely be back. Accommodation was very good, good sized room and comfortable bed. Our room was right above the bar but the pub was very quiet that night so it was not a problem, dare say it's a bit noisy on a busy night (it is a pub) but it closes early, 10pm most evenings, so again maybe not a problem. All the staff were very friendly. We ate in the bar on the evening and the food was very good. We also had an excellent breakfast. All in all we would definitely stay again when we are in the area.

The Queens is a traditional inn in a pleasant, quiet village location. A warm welcome awaited us on arrival and friendly, professional service from all staff throughout our stay. Cosy bar with real fire was especially welcome. The KIng Room had a very comfy, extra large bed. Lovely, hearty breakfast each morning and very good dinner in the evening. Generous portions! Steak night on Thursday very good value. Would thoroughly recommend as a base for exploring Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and beautiful surrounding countryside.

This was the 3rd property I switched for the area. Price, location were at the top of my needs list. I found it perfect for those needs along with lovely staff, clean accommodating room and how fun to have staying in true English pub.

Not much to say negative. Breakfast was lovely, dinner was the best we had on our travels. We enjoyed the outside patio for our afternoon pints, our rooms were comfortable and staff accommodating to any requests.

Good-sized & clean rooms which were very dog-friendly. Great location in a very quiet spot, only 2 miles from M5 Carlisle junction. Excellent food in the pub restaurant which was also dog-friendly. Good sized garden to exercise them! Friendly staff & good value for money. We used The Queens as an overnight stop heading north and would definitely return!

Room was cold on arrival, but heating did come on eventually, but NO heating on in the morning in the room, so it was decidedly chilly as the windows are single-glazed. Breakfast is only served between 8 and 10, so perhaps not early enough if you want to stay for work.
